This place sucks. I cant believe 20 people think this place is worth it. First, it is very expensive. Second, the chefs are unsanitary. Third and most of all, the chefs and the main waitress are completely rude. I love sushi and I have been to many restaurants all around the country and this place is nothing special. Maybe some East Cobbers who dont know the difference disagree. And it is especially not worth the bad attitude. This place is a mile from my house but I drive 5 miles to another Japanese restaurant instead. I will give a couple of examples of the rudeness. I asked for wasabi before I got my plate because I sometimes like to mix it in with the soy sauce. The chef literally told me no! He said "You will get wasabi on your plate.". I asked, only because they were not busy, if they could cut the nagiri in half to make smaller pieces. They flat out said no at first. I asked why and the chef, while groaning and muttering in Japanese, begrudgingly cut my nagiri pieces in half. The waitress then told me a few minutes later "we cannot cut the nagiri next time.". I have paid 20 dollars for a single serving of Blue Fin tuna in Miami and absolutely loved it. The price is no issue. This place is dirty, rude, and not worth the money. I was a waiter in college and I always tip hugely. Last time I was there, which was the final straw, I left 1 dollar. I have NEVER done that in my life.

I do not know why everyone gives this place 5 stars. These people are so rude. Usually I care more about the food than service, but I havent been treated this badly in a long time so I need to mention it. If you have any requests at all they always say no. What happened to customer service? Or the customer is right? Example: The bar was *completely empty* and the waitress sat me in the tiny corner smushed against the wall with not enough elbow room for a squirrel. I asked to sit somewhere else and she said I HAD to sit there in case other customers came.....um excuse me? How about we treat the real, tangible customers better than the imaginary ones. When I asked to substitute something she said no sternly and took away my menu and left me sitting there. Thanks.... If you want to be given orders and follow them instead of being served then go here I guess.

Ive spent three summers abroad in Japan and always come back missing the food - US "Japanese" places just dont cut it. But Ege is the exception. It totally satisfies my craving for authentic Japanese dishes. Its the best you can get. Feels like genuine home cooked Japanese recipes. I highly recommend calling ahead. There usually isnt a wait, but it is a very very small building (can maybe only comfortably seat like 20 people) and Ive been there before where no tables are available. They usually take my reservation as little as 15 minutes ahead but its good to have a seat waiting for you. Best Japanese place in the states that Ive been to. It makes me feel like Im back there again. I highly recommend the tonkatsu (fried pork cutlet) or unagidon (bowl of rice with eel) - they also have specials and those are always great too.

I have looked for a good sushi restaurant around here for years. But it took a chance appointment to introduce me to Ege Sushi and Japanese Cuisine. I love this place! They provide a simple menu - one side in English and the other side in Japanese. They only have one server since it is a small dining room, but the woman is very friendly and helpful. She works hard when there is a crowd, so no one gets ignored no matter how busy the room gets. As for the food, I cannot say enough good things about their soup, salad, and of course their sushi. Everything as authentic as you can get in Georgia, and better then anywhere else Ive found. I recommend Ege Sushi & Japanese Cuisine to anyone who loves sushi.

Ege has very fresh and delicious sushi and is very affordable. The Bamboo Roll is a must try. I moved here a year ago and searched for my new favorite sushi place. My search went on for 9 months, during which time I experienced my fair share of not so fresh sushi around town before I found this place. I dare to say, Ege has Magic Finger quality fish at nearly half the price. The staff is friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is relaxed and has a local/repeat customer base feel. There arent a lot of American style rolls on the menu, but if you like nigiri/sashimi, you wont be disappointed!

Not sure why this is so highly rated. This was my second and last visit. We had sushi and like the last few people here said the sushi is nothing special at all. It was mediocre. They seriously charged us for a side of eal sauce which was the smallest portion Ive ever seen and on top of that was super nasty. I find this place way overpriced when it comes to sushi. I will never be back. Do yourself a favor and just keep driving.

Gah, this place is delicious. The "specials" menu is where its at. Wonderful Japanese culinary treasures for the slightly more adventurous. The squid gratin, shishito peppers, and little curry fried shrimp are so delicious, I crave them constantly. Duck udon with fluffy, chewy soba is the perfect meal when youre not feeling great (or when you are). Weve never had anything we didnt love here--it is such a treat!

If youre a fan of what I call "southern sushi" (deep fried rolls and such), you may not like Ege. For a traditionalist like myself however, its an excellent choice. The menu is somewhat limited, but all the classics are here. Everything is very fresh and excellently prepared. The owner (Ege) keeps the place very clean and neat, and uses very fresh fish. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Simply the best Japan has to offer right here in our backyard. Be sure to try something on the Japanese menu. The American menu is good but it is "American." Ask what to try and the waitresses will be very helpful. When sitting at the Sushi bar be sure to offer to buy a beer for your Sushi Chef. Always ask the Chef what he recommends. Between the beer and the respect you will have a wonderful night!

Very friendly staff, most of the seats were occupied at nearly 8pm on a Wednesday and the food was very good and made of high quality products. The price is also quite decent. The one downside is that the rolls were not rolled tight enough and would fall apart on you while picking them up. If not for the rolling issue, this would be a solid 5 star place. I will absolutely be back though.

I have been a regular customer here since they opened and I will keep coming back time and again. This is authentic and delicious food, a gem of a family business, and the people are the best! Sometimes its very crowded, but that adds to the authenticity. I rarely write reviews and I have to say this is a must restaurant for people coming to the area.

We love going to Ege. Its usually our place for date night and the food is great. Service is fantastic. When we walk in, beer is immediately poured and brought over to us along with a sushi menu. Its nice to go somewhere where they remember their customers, sushi is always fresh and yummy, and you dont have to get dressed up.
