We were staying in Atlanta for a night and were looking for dinner when I was able to sway the party to Yu-ka. It turned out to be a pretty good choice.
Its always a good sign when the sake selection includes brands and types, though in this case the house variety was plenty good for a couple of bottles.
I wanted some toro sashimi, but after a little while the sushi chef comes over and tells me its not fresh. He suggests the bluefin instead, to which I trusted his selection. It turned out to be a very good choice, and to which was elevated by the integrity of the chef to turn me away when I was prepared to pay market price for the tuna belly.
I was feeling noodles, so I focused my attention on a bowl of pho. Despite not being sushi, the sliced meatballs, thinly-shaved brisket, rice noodles, standard garnishes and savory broth was enjoyable.
In fact, the only complaint I had about the restaurant was the fact that it was uncomfortably warm in the restaurant, a problem which was elevated by the hot broth I was drinking. Perhaps they were just trying to get us out, as they were closing soon, but more than likely it was just a mistake. As it was, Yu-ka was an unassuming strip mall sushi restaurants serving some great sushi in a trendy neighborhood, and one thats easy to miss if you arent looking for it.

I frequent Sushi Bar Yu-Ka and for a quick sushi lunch it is very good. Food: The food is consistently good and for a fair price. I have yet to order a roll or nigiri in the past 3 years that I did not like / finish. The Pho is also good but I prefer Lees Bakery on Buford Highway for that. The hibachi meals are bland. All in all, I stick with the sushi part of the menu and sometimes stray over to the bento box (cant go wrong with the bento box). Decor: Its fairly simple. Nothing to write home about. I go for the food, not the decor. Service: Most of the time the service is good. However, when they get busy it simply breaks down and its seems like the servers get confused and overwhelmed. They dont serve by sections, it is sort of a free for all when it gets busy. Because of this I try to get there before Noon for lunch and I dont have any issues.

I dont want people to think im being mean but this place was not the best sushi. Went there for lunch because I wanted a casual Sushi stop. Tomo is my usual in Buckhead sushi place but didnt want to drive as far from my office so thought Id try this place out. I was not expecting Tomo quality or flair, but felt even what I got was not worth the price of admission. Wasabi had no kick to it, Tuna nigiri was fishy (in not a good way), yellow fin was flaky/dry, and the california roll (yes the california roll) tasted like they bought it next door at Kroger. Also I cant stand any restaurant that gives you a soda/coke in a can. Get a fountain/dispenser. Also the price for lunch is the same as Tomo, which is generally recognized as one of the best in Atlanta.

I have been here twice- once for sushi and today for a pho craving. Absolutely love their sushi! We love our sushi dressed up (with a lot of sauce, etc.), and they have a lot of that sort of assortment here. Another thing I like is that their menu actually has pictures of all of their sushi. Some favorites: Rolls Royce, Georgia Crunch Roll, Dragon Roll. Today I tried their pho for the first time and liked it for the most part- the flavor of the soup (without any sauce/veggies) was great. The meat in the pho didnt taste very good (specifically the meatball) but overall, I enjoyed it! Would definitely go back, and just tell them to hold back on the meatball in the pho!

reading the reviews on here, my girlfriend and i were looking forward to trying this place. ive been to a lot of sushi places, but in general i dont think my expectations were too high. overall the sushi was nothing special and definitely overpriced. theres way better places to go in atlanta. the meal came out to $80 for 2 people! and we barely had anything to drink. also the service was terrible. i dont think im a snob, but we had to ask three times just to get some water refilled! i definitely wont be coming back.

Since this was the closest not the best of Sushi bars near me, decided to get a carry-out and sat at the bar, this rude server decided I needed to move to a different table, seeing that the woman in the red coat was also sitting waiting for her carry-out he never asked her to move. Will never ever go there again. Need I say I did not order carry-out.

I just wanted to take my wife out for a nice, peaceful dinner. Unfortunately, there was this obnoxious server, who seemed to be the manager, kept trying to butt into our conversations. I didn’t come here and spend all this expensive money on sushi to talk to this guy. I won’t be coming back.

Great sushi, amazing Udon soup, and great service. Everytime i bring my girl we enjoy the experience. Never had a bad time. And the prices might be alittle high but its sushi its going to be alittle high. But nothing crazy over priced. Try out the Udon soup as well. Noodles are amazing.

I absolutely loved this place. I hate ginger salad and their salad was amazing. The sushi was super fresh prepared very well and quickly. The staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was great and relaxed. My favorite in Atlanta so far by FAR.

Sushi Yuka does not have authentic Japanese food. I was disappointed to learn that the restaurant is Korean owned. For more authentic Japanese food, go to Hashiguchi. You will see Japanese people eating there, opposed to white people at Yuka.

We waited over an hour for our food. Although the food was good, it was not worth the hour wait. The wait staff was slow to respond, and didn’t seem to care. The place does not seem to care about building customer loyalty.

Very good sushi nigiri and excellent service. Kind of hard to find as it is way back in the corner of the mall complex. Some nigiri comes with the horseradish under the sashimi. This is the style at yu-ka.

The only place we go in Buckhead for sushi. Their rolls are amazing! Way better than the more expensive Kata sushi place on Pharr. Try it out, you wont regret it. FYI they are closed on Sundays.

So glad to find this jewel of a place right in my backyard. Theyve closed most sushi restaurants to make room for all of these hi-rise apartment buildings. Great place and the sushi is amazing!

If you are in Buckhead and want sushi where you can have a conversation go here. The food was great and priced reasonably. The staff was friendly.

Excellent little sushi bar hidden in the middle of Atlanta. Weve been to Atlanta twice and both times we have eaten here. Highly recommended.
