I took my Boyfriend here to celebrate his birthday, I look for places already knowing he is extremely picky about food. I like sauces, garnish and spice, he likes the total opposite. We arrived and were greeted promptly and seated. Our waitress, an energetic, attentive young lady quickly took our drink order and left us to view the menu. For the Birthday Gent a burger & fries and for me the wonderful Lady, half chicken with green beans & mexican rice. He raved about the flavor of the burger and how good it was<---- Score! As for my meal the half chicken was delicious, green beans and rice as well but I soon found out when I went for leftovers the dark meat of the chicken was undercooked. Overall the noise was average, and despite my chicken let down weve already talked about going back. Overall I was pleased with the service, food portions and especially the price. Cant wait to try what else they have to offer. Update - 6/1/2015 As I stated in my previous review we were going back. Went to the location to take friend from out of town. We were seated and waited a while for our a waitress. The waiter came and confronted us because of the look on our face, she wanted to let us know she was just told we had been seated and wanted to know if we had a problem with that. Her attitude was less than pleasing as she came across very sarcastic and annoyed with us. She even slammed the silverware on the table, Ha, the nerve. The food complimented her attitude, not as good as the first visit. If it wasnt for the jet lag we would have left. Made us feel very uncomfortable being the only concentrated group of African-Americans in the restaurant. Very disappointed.

I am kind of a seafood snob. My family and I eat and cook a lot of seafood. So this is kind of harsh, but if you are going to undertake the challenge of a dedicated seafood menu, then you need to get at least a few things right. We ordered the Oyster Rockefeller, Fried Oysters, Gumbo, Redfish, Sockeye Salmon, Garlic Spinach, Asparagus, Mashed Potatoes, and the Jalapeno Cornbread. The vegetable dishes were acceptable, but nothing special. The gumbo had a thick and bland sauce, not deserving of the term roux and mostly void of the varieties of flavor that make gumbo so appealing. The cornbread was even worse, a dense buttery cake with a few specks of jalapenos. The cornbread was horrible. The redfish was the best dish served, surpassing the others by the quality of the fillets, lightly seasoned and barely over cooked. The salmon was over cooked, and somehow the light seasoning overpowered the flavor of the fish. The oysters are front and center of the menu, and they should not be. The Oyster Rockefeller recipe was so rich and overly laden with cheese that the oysters themselves were hardly an accompanying flavor; but, I do love cheese and spinach. The fried oysters were not acceptable, way too small for the price, the meat was over cooked, yet somehow still managed to lose the breading. I have never seen a fried oyster fail like that. I provided one star solely for the drink options and our wonderful waitress Shannon. Shannon saved the evening for us, she was great. If this restaurant makes it, it wont be for the dishes mentioned, especially considering the prices, unless they improve the kitchen.

I have visited this restaurant twice (In the past 5-6 weeks). The Good & the Bad are: The Salmon BLT is Excellent. The fresh side vegetables are excellent. Loved the Sauteed Spinach & Roasted Garlic!!! Delicious & very fresh!!! The BAD is..........on BOTH occasions it TOOK FOREVER to get a drink from the bar to our table! I watched our waiter walk around the restaurant, visit with people, run to the kitchen and socialize, clear a table, never even LOOK at us, and no drink yet???? What???? Your waiter expects the "runners" to bring it, and it doesnt happen. SO, your drink sits on the bar until your waiter finally decides to stop serving and retrieve it for you. By then, the ice is very melted, or the beer/wine is starting to get warm!!!!!! This is a young staff, and the MANAGEMENT has not realized they need to TEACH the staff that when clients arrive, this is VERY IMPORTANT! Many adults like to enjoy a cocktail before they eat, and possibly order a second drink with dinner. We waited so long, we wound up having one drink, and taking half of our food home. We can pour it much faster!!!!!!!! Why would I pay premium dollar for this painfully slow service??? NOT! BTW, there were only 3 tables seated with people in the whole restaurant, so they WERE NOT BUSY AT ALL, AND there were 6-7 people at the bar. Now, I know why people sit at the bar (lol). Make sure you get your beverage order in FIRST!!! I HOPE THE OWNER/MANAGERS READ THIS AND MAKE IMPROVEMENTS!!!! PRETTY PLEASE????

We are new to the area, and decided to give this place a try because I didnt feel like cooking. The reviews were pretty consistent, so off we went. We were greeted at the door by what I assume was the manager. Our waitress was wonderful, friendly, and efficient. The issue I and my husband had was at one point the manager went around to tables checking on guests, and also showing off the award of "best restaurant of Sandy Springs" award. He went to every table, but ours. There were only 3 or 4 booths occupied, so it was kind of hard to miss the exclusion. My husband raised his eyebrow at me, but did not remark. We got our food and the pulled pork sandwich was really dry (even with a fair share of mayo and BBQ sauce) and the old bay fries were drenched in, well...old bay seasoning. Our kids chicken tenders were extra deep fried (of course they did not want them), the fruit option was just 3 orange wedges, and my husbands drink wasnt really what he thought it should be(he ordered a spiked lemonade and it tasted kind of peachy). I ordered the fried oysters which were very good, as well as the fry assortment appetizer. As we left, we werent greeted which was odd considering the couple that left about 2 minutes prior received a hefty "goodbye, come back and see us!" All in all, for a $67 dinner that was mediocre (have gotten better service and food at Outback Perimeter center) we were not impressed, and probably will not be returning.

My experience with Hammocks Trading Company is inconsistent to say the least. Its basically a gamble whether or not Im going to receive good service or good food (sometimes I receive neither). I will be fair though, there are times when everything was excellent... my only gripe being that they over-price their food and call it "fine dining", Ive been to MANY restaurants in the US and theyre disillusion if they think this is "fine dining". Now, Ive not written any reviews on Hammocks due to the fact that my girlfriend has been working there, but recently thats changed. She was forced out due to a manager/bar tender sexually harassing her. Ive come to learn, this same manager has made multiple other women very uncomfortable whom have also left the restaurant. This may not be a direct correlation of what youre going to receive upon dining with Hammocks but I do feel its important for people to understand what sort of people are making their food. If the well-being of their women employees is not important to them, what makes you think they care about the food youre putting in your mouth? I wish you luck, if you feel like rolling the dice with Hammocks tonight, Id think twice.
