Id really give this place 3.5 stars if I could, but I opted for 3 stars instead of 4 because Im a little bitter to be honest. Food was good, but the portions were much smaller than I had anticipated and I was a little disappointed with the service. Their selection of liquor was okay (I was looking for a good rye to nurse during my time here) and though I didnt get a good look at their beer selection its always good to see a place that has CCs Tropicalia on tap. In short, this isnt a bad place to go at all; just know what you want and dont put your trust in the servers opinions because theyll try to take as much of your money as they can (which shouldnt be surprising of any establishment; sad as it is to say. Ive probably just been spoiled by the bartenders at Battle and Brew). First I ordered the Fish and Chips. Their batter is awesome, but the filets were super thin. For $11 and some change I would have liked to have had something a little more filling, but as I said before, if you know what you want this isnt a bad place at all. I had a pint of Tropalica with this dish. The server dumped my beer out before I was actually finished with it, but there was only half an ounce in it left so I let it go. Next I got some raw oysters. The server at the bar asked if I wanted the house oysters or the more expensive stuff. I said if the more expensive stuff was really worth it then Id go with it. Wound up spending $15-16 dollars on a half dozen oysters that were the smallest oysters I had ever had in my life. Id had better oysters at Asian buffets off Pleasant Hill Rd. I was pretty displeased with this, but again; I didnt really know what to expect and was feeling adventurous. With my oysters I had some chilled vodka served in a low ball glass. It tasted pretty weak, but then I had started off with some bullet rye so I figured I just couldnt notice the alcohol taste much anymore. Again the server tossed my drink when there was a 1/3 of it left in my glass. I spoke up about this and she poured me another. Later I moved outside to get better reading light and got back into my book. I had a bourbon on the rocks while I relaxed outside and finally decided to try the gator bites because I had never had gator before. It was good and Id probably get it again if given the chance. At this point I asked for my check and found that I had been charged twice for the vodka. The server explained that she had brought out a third vodka for me because I apparently ordered it. I DID NOT order another vodka... that vodka was strictly to go with the oysters. Im a whiskey man. The paranoia in me tells me she put water in a low ball glass and had it set near by so she could use that as an excuse for charging me for the second vodka, but to be fair Im very suspicious of people in general. At any rate, I felt a little cheated. I grew up in the restaurant business and I make a point to be as low maintenance a customer as possible and to tip well. I usually tip 20% and Ive never tipped less than 15% in my life, but in this case I only tipped 10% because I felt I was cheated on the oysters and my server was deceptive. I rarely write reviews, but I felt I needed to explain my tip to this establishment. Also it was really only the one server that I felt was cheating me. The other servers could very well be great and trustworthy. So in conclusion, they got good eat and good drink! Just know what you want and dont depend on the servers to give you valuable advice on the menu.

I had a horrible experience here about 3 weeks ago. I met two girlfriends to have a beer on a slow night--a Tuesday at around 9 pm. My friends had gotten their beers up on the patio before I arrived, but had closed out with their server and headed downstairs since they were cold outside. When I got there, I asked my friends if they had a server, and they said they had been downstairs for 15-20 minutes already, and no one had come by. I walked up to the bar, smiling, and asked the bartender if I could order a beer. She rudely stared at me: "Do you have a table?" I said yes, that we were sitting at the high table next to the windows, and she responded, coldly: "Then you have a server." Fine. Rejected, I went back to our table and waited. No one came. A server came to the table next to us (one of the only ones in the room with people at it), and I made eye contact and smiled. She never came back. After 20 minutes of waiting desperately, I still didnt have a beer (and my friends were almost finished with theirs). I got up, walked up to the server, and asked if I could please have a beer. She looked annoyed and looked over at the bar without answering. I said, "I already asked her (the bartender), and she wouldnt give me one. I just want a beer, please." She reluctantly took my beer order, proceeded to chat with her colleagues for a few minutes, before casually walking up to the bar (same bartender) to put in my order. I watched, and after a few minutes, my beer just sat there, until the server finally decided to grab it and bring it to me at the table. I just wanted a beer. At a bar. On a Tuesday. At Six Feet Under, I was surprised to be treated as an annoyance, and was basically resigned to BEGGING for a beer. I hope this was just an isolated experience. Ive been here before and never had a problem. Just please dont make a habit of making your customers beg for their drinks. It doesnt make them want to come back.

Our extended family had a get together, here, at 5pm on a thursday evening. the place was empty. aside from the fact that we killed 3 flies at our table, the service and the food were terrible. firstly, we received no kids menu, so my son and i split the crab cakes. they were absolutely awful. neither of us could eat them. my husband had the shrimp. it sucked, as did his whole seafood "basket". the server never asked how our food was. we asked for the menus back, to order something for my son and me, at our expense. suprise! they gave us a kids menu. the quesadilla we received, 10 minutes later, was undercooked. just sprinkled cheese from the nearby Publix, not even melted. during our meal, the hostess sat another 2 people next to us. the restaurant was empty. i have no problem with having neighbors, with both their laptops, but when they began speaking loudly during cell phone conversations, we all got irritated. and THEN, they put their phones on SPEAKER. not a single representative of the restaurant asked them to take them off speaker. their conversation continued for about 10 minutes. i can understand a quick call IN a restaurant, but once its going to take a while, take it OUTSIDE. the management should have asked them to have this common courtesy. Basically, the food stunk, service was pathetic (no manager visited our table to ask about the returned food, that we paid for), and the customers were beyond rude. Oh, and i forgot to mention that the valets drove my husbands car like a race car. I saw this as i pulled up a few minutes later, in my car. We will NOT be back.
