This was such a disappointing place. I went here to get Korean BBQ with my sister, we debated between here and Iron Age;(which shes been to and loved) we decided to give this place a chance. First thing, it wasnt an all you can eat BBQ, which I understand, but we expected big portions for the price. My sister got the ribeye which was pictured as an arranged plate of several steaks and was $31 and it came as one steak. I ordered the marinated short ribs which was $28 but at least matched the picture next to it. Still, much more expensive than average Korean BBQ. Second thing that drove us crazy was our server WOULD NOT LEAVE US ALONE. Personally I like Korean BBQ because I like to cook it myself, but every time we were flipping or cutting or REACHING for the tongs she came over to take total control, despite us making it clear that we were fine and did not want help. And she cut it in ways we were specifically trying to avoid. Which might sound picky, but thats part of the reason we chose Korean BBQ. Next they brought the check before we were close to being done, which I understand but is still a little rude. We both work at a restaurant, so normally were pretty great tippers, but we honestly didnt like our service. Or the food. Or the price of a dissatisfying experience. So we decided to tip a little over 10%. The server came over, counted out the bills in front of us, laughed and shouted "10%" across the restaurant to the other worker. It was an empty restaurant, but still. I have never seen or heard of such rude behavior from staff before. Maybe you should think about why we tipped poorly. How about asking if the service was okay? Ive never been so unhappy with a Korean restaurant

Craving for some decent Korean food but on a budget? Stop by Han Il Kwan! I went for lunch and got the Bulgogi box which was overwhelmingly large and delicious for lunch. Being the fat kid that I am, I finished it all minus the ban chan and soup. I am not a huge fan of ban chan in general, but they provided 6 things for us (none of which Im sure of what they were). I only tried some brown potato thing and some starchy green square. Both were alright, but nothing amazing to me. They also provided a soup that I wasnt sure if it had meat/fish in it. That was also only okay. The staff was nice and attentive. Han Il Kwan has a buzzer at the table so you can ask for service. As per the Bulgogi Box, that was lip smacking good. It came with noodles, fried rice, two pieces of sushi, bulgogi, some other fried meat thing, and a ginger salad. My friends got a dish that came out in a large stone bowl that was about a foot and a half in diameter. It was massive. One of my friends ate all she could, and took the rest home. There was so much food though that even after her stuffing herself, she still had so much food it could NOT fit in one carry out box. The portion size was just that big.

Im a Korean American and Ive been to Korea many times to visit family. Quite frankly, this restaurant has food that is the most comparable to cuisine in South Korea, even rivaling the original real deal. In fact, my parents and I get really excited to come back home from seeing family over in Seoul to eat here, no joke. If youre really hungry, order more than the 2 order minimum. Its not that hard. Order 4-5 orders if you have 4 people with you, and go from there. If you ask for more banchan, they will give it to you; its practically unlimited. I suggest the yuk-hwe or Korean beef tartare, kalbi, tenchang-jigae, and naengmyun to finish. Prices scare you off? KBBQ is expensive in the first place fam. Go to like Iron Age or somewhere else if you want cheaper, but youll be missing out on this quality experience. If this restaurant is too "dirty" for you then maybe you should take a good hard look at your gentrified privilege. Ive been going to this restaurant for 2 decades and I will defend it to my dying breath.

I would highly suggest for this place to invest in having maybe one or two employees who speak fluent English. My waitress did not clarify that the Grill Table menu was for only one serving although I asked multiple times. Once me and my boyfriend requested more meat she retrieved another worker who explained to us that the food was not unlimited but by then it was too late because wed already finished our food. In total it took us about 30 minutes from the time we got there to actually finishing our food and we were out $50. My boyfriend and I were nowhere near full and ended up going out to eat again soon after. Personally it felt like a waste to me. The cost did not match the quantity nor the quality. Youre better off going to Iron Age where its all you can eat, cheaper, and you get to have an assortment of different meats. This was a lesson learned and I most likely wont be back.

PROS: Meat was tasty. CONS: Two orders of Korean BBQ are not enough. My bf and I were literally eating the remnants of the banchan, which is obviously few and far in between. If you are looking to get full here, this is not the place for you. Also, there was an East Asian family that ate near us, and they got rice. We did not receive any rice with our orders. Also, we had to ask for more banchan. We didnt even come hungry to this restaurant, nor do we have huge appetites and the amount of food did not suffice. Also, it is pricey in comparison to places like Dongneh Bangneh (impeccable -- please try them. Also known as Kimchi House). One last thing, we did not receive soups/egg like we have at every Korean BBQ place we have been to....and we are pretty avid KBBQers. Do not come here.

Lunch is excellent. I had the seafood Jigae. Yes, the bowl is on the small size, but it is served with a side of rice and yummy Banchans. I was very satisfied with my food. Now if youre looking for obscene super sized portions, the lunch menu is not for you. Order from the regular menu. My husband had the pork box lunch, was decent size, and he said it was delicious, so will definitely come back for lunch. The food and service is always excellent, but I avoid this restaurant during holiday weekends as they have a skeleton crew! Highly recommend this place.

Best Korean restaurant!!! We have tried many, but we always come back here. Order the sul lang tang, dolsot bibimbap, or bbq for dinner. You wont be disappointed! Lunch specials are just as delicious; I like the salmon box and galbi box. The sides (ban chan) are just as good as the main dishes. Everything tastes authentic and home cooked. The staff and owner are the nicest people. I only have good things to say about Han Il Kwan! They are open late. Price point is excellent.

The service was amazing. The food was delicious and I will definitely be returning. I took my mother to Han IL Kwan last night because it was noted as an authentic Korean restaurant. I was not disappointed. We ordered the Barbeque sampler and shrimp fried rice. The waitresses were extremely kind and explained the what the meats were as they cooked them in front of us, taught us what the smaller bowls were and the traditional ways of eating the cuisine.
