So Kong Dong has a name that makes me giggle. Yes, I really am that juvenile. Name aside though, this place was unimpressive. I would like to think that I again fell to the occurrence of ordering the wrong dish. However, I do not think that was the case. Ive had Korean BBQ before and this just didnt do it for me. This was a shame, because the BBQ was what I went to So Kong Dong for. I ordered the BBQ beef and spicy tofu soup. My meal came with the standard kimchi, green salad, bean sprouts, tea, and a small fried fish. The tofu soup came with a raw egg in which I saw other people put into their soup. So monkey see, monkey did. The tofu soup was nice and hot, but it did not give me the kick I was expecting for it to be labeled spicy. The waiter was pleasant, and even with the language barrier he was able to understand my request for condiments. This was a life saver, because I definitely needed salt and pepper for my meal. Im sure Buford Highway has some great Korean BBQ restaurants, however for me this was not one of them.

My husband & I was in the area & thought wed find a decent Korean restaurant to have lunch at. Saw the 4.5 stars but didnt have much time to read all the reviews. We were like 3mins away so we figured why not? While waiting for our meals I went to use the bathroom. Luckily, I checked for toilet paper before using the bathroom. Washed my hands & went out to inform one of the employees that the womans bathroom was out of toilet paper. I then walked back to my table, turn around & shes right behind me. Not sure why she followed me. I repeated to her that the womans bathroom needed toilet paper. She responded "sorry, we only have one bathroom"...??? dont think she understood me.. anyways, the food we ordered was pretty good but definitely not worth the money(portion wise). I dont think Ive seen a bowl of bibimbop so small unless thats the sz they serve with just the combo meals. Still, definitely not worth the money. Then theres the "no excessive side orders" signs posted everywhere. WILL NOT GO BACK!!!

I really like the atmosphere in this tofu house! Prices are reasonable (although everything will be going up $1 in March 2015), and the soups all come with many sides automatically. Sides that I have had: a small fried fish, seaweed, kimchi, cold noodles, and at least 2-3 other sides depending on the day. The service is always quick-- many of the servers are not able to explain their dishes easily, but they are generally friendly and will try their best to answer your questions. The short ribs are awesome and a fairly decent portion that could be shared with another smaller entree item between 2 people. Be warned, "very spicy" is exactly that, but worth trying if you love some extra heat with your food. Parking is never a problem here, and I would suggest also heading across the street afterwards for some dessert at the Korean Mozart Bakery!

My wife and I were treated terribly here by two of their employees Josh and Daniel. And Josh claimed to be the manager. My wife went in first while I was parking my car. They refused to seat my wife saying you have to have the "full party" to be seated. My wife told them we only had 2 and her husband was just parking the car and still got a no. Because the parking lot is tiny it took me 5 minutes or so to get a spot. When I came in and questioned them what happened, they changed their explanation and said my wife came in after other customers and had to wait. But apparently they had seated at least two groups that arrived after my wife. And their facial expressions made us feel we were begging them for food. We left right away.

Ive driven by this place hundreds of times and finally decided to try the food. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall that has Kung FuTea on the corner. This is a small korean tofu house that has a large variety of soicy soups. They also serve marinated beef and short ribs. Pricrs range from $10 for yhe assorted tofu soups and go up to $18 - $20 for traditional korean entrees. As any other korean restaurant you recieve a variety of complimentary small dishes with your meal, salted fish, Kim chi, translucent noodles etc. The parking lot in the form till is small but they also have a larger lot in the back.

Traditional Korean food, decent prices, attentive wait staff and an all round good night out for dinner. There were many more Asian people dining here than Caucasians. You order your entree and very soon after your waitstaff bring out a whole tray of "side" items. These usually include rice, various pickled items, a small fried fish and most entree dishes include Korean BBQ as well. Everything was tasty, but the tofu soup with beef was amazing. Dont let the lack of familiarity make you stay away. Go on an adventure in your own home town.

Customer service was nice. This place provided hot tea the moment we sat down. The Korean BBQ was the best that I have tasted. Though, the portion is small. If youre looking for a meat buffet, this is not it (go to Iron Age or so). I had the spicy seafood and beef tofu soup. What I really like about the soup was the tofu and the levels of spice. Their spiciest level had a kick to it, but it was not spicy to me. Note that I eat spicy on a daily basis though. I did not like how they charge extra for more rice.

Oh yeah baby - this is the real thing. You know youre in authentic Korean when the restaurant is full of Koreans. Friendly staff and felt like we were back in Korea. Food is soooo good. UPDATE. Third visit last night. Bibimbap is so good as are the Leek/Vegetable pancakes. TIP: Dont try to park in their parking lot. Way too crowded due to popular Mexican in same place. Go one driveway past (away from I-285) and park there. Get dessert at Paris Baguette (also a Korean business). Best pastries - no really.

Love the mushroom tofu soup. Best place to hit up on a cold night or even if you have a cold! Soup comes to your table still boiling along with these small oriental dishes that are very tasty. Definitely fills you and its not expensive at all, considering how much you get. Only bad thing is that the parking lot is soo small and you usually have to do loops and loops until one becomes vacant, its a mess. They also close very early which I dont like. Other than that Definitely recommend this place

My son, the chef, brought us here for a birthday meal - what fun - stuffed at the end. Many appetizer plates come with the meal with kimchi, pickled radish, this and that, and a fried fish - quite tasty. The tofu soups appear to share a similar broth but have different add-ins and come bubbling in a pot to the table when the waitress cracks a raw egg into each bowl - wonderful. We had the scallion pancake, thin slice beef rib and a cold noodle dish - all good.

My husband and I love to get dinner here when were in the mood for Korean. Their combo dishes are awesome, get a main entrée + Korean bbq. They have a huge list of choices for Korean tofu soup and other popular dishes. The side dishes are always delicious as well. The only thing con that I would mention is that they raised all the prices recently so its a bit more expensive now, but we still come anyways because the food is always delicious.
