Unfortunately I am unable to leave a review on the food because we were never served. My cousin happened to see a Groupon Now deal for this restaurant and we decided to go; the Groupon ended at 8PM. She arrived before me around 7:45 and was promptly seated by the hostess. I arrived about 3-5 minutes later and joined her at the table. After having been seated for 10 minutes without even an anknowledgement from a server, I went to the front desk to inquire about the Groupon and getting a server. I explained to her that we had a Groupon that expired at 8PM and wanted to make sure that we would be able to use it, as no server had come out our table. She said, "well hurry up and let me scan it now because its 7:58"...what??? Ok, so I motioned for my cousin to come up so that she could scan the Groupon, and as she was pulling it up the girl proceded to do a "countdown" to 8PM. As she held the phone out for her to scan she said, "oh, its 8:01". Long story short, we went back and forth about it for a little while, noting that we were here well before 8PM (she was the one that seated us!!), and that no one came to our table so it was not our fault. She was unwilling to budge but informed us that we were still welcome to eat there. How gracious of her. Needless to say, we will not be revisiting this establishment.

I was so excited to order from Grand China, but once I got home with my order I disappointed, but not with everything I ordered chicken wings...............they were awesome and big crab ragon.............kind of tasted like they were put in the oven or microwave instead of deep friend, Tom Kha Gai (chicken coconut thai soup)...................HORRIBLE. watery without any curry what so ever, I did not taste one bit of lime or ginger. The mushrooms didnt look like shitike mushrooms im pretty sure they were not, also no cilantro was in it or scallion onions, and the consistency is watery milky at the top and looks like dirty dishwater at the bottom of the see through container, they put jalapeno peppers in there for some reason dont know why. but the chicken inside the soup tasted ok ( sweet with no kick to it)................I plan on taking the soup and doctoring it up myself tomorrow for dinner ( no since in throwing it away I hope I can fix it). So I guess this is a learning lesson not to order Tom Kha Gai from a restaurant that isnt truly thai. great customer service, the folks at the front counter were very nice, they get two stars for food, and 5 for being nice.

The service was attentive, the restaurant was clean, the food came fairly quickly and they had a fancy faucet in the bathroom, which is always fun. More details: Grand China has a strange set-up for a restaurant. Its a really nice house converted into a restaurant. The menu is overwhelmingly large, with a mix of Thai, Chinese, Japanese and Mexican fare. I went with something relatively safe for my first visit: General Tsos Chicken, and Crab Rangoons. The chicken had a nice, crispy texture with the right mix of sweet and salty, with just a hint of heat to it. It was saucy but not overwhelmingly so. The vegetables were kept separate, instead of cooked in the sauce, which I feel helped with the texture of the meal. The rangoons were absolutely the cheesiest Ive ever had. The serving size of both was very generous, so come hungry. This is a small thing, but Grand China is one of the first restaurants Ive ever been to that serves its food after its cooled to the point that its safe to eat, rather than directly out of the stove/pan. I liked just being able to dig into my rangoons without the threat of being scalded by piping hot fishy cheese filling.

I was introduced to Grand China by my college roomates Chineese sister-in-law and have been going back ever since. The ambiance is great, as it is very well kept up. It is constantly busy, but not busy to the point that you cant find a seat. My husband swears by their orange chicken. I personally am a huge fan of their sweet and sour chicken. It is one of the few places that doesnt do oversized deep fried peices with too much grease. The chicken is cooked perfectly. I also love all of their soups. They are well prepared and truely are a meal in themself. My brother when he is in from new york will request to go here for the peking duck. He said it is the best he has ever had. The service is wonderful, I may not go for a few months but they still remember what I like on the menu. I have tried other restaurants in Atlanta, and none of them compare. In addition, you tend to get more of the Atlanta crowd and not the touristy crowd. This is a must place eat! well done

What is my perfect crime? I break into Tiffanys at midnight. Do I go for the vault? No, I go for the chandelier. Its priceless. As Im taking it down, a woman catches me. She tells me to stop. Its her fathers business. Shes Tiffany. I say no. We make love all night. In the morning, the cops come and I escape in one of their uniforms. I tell her to meet me in Mexico, but I go to Canada. I dont trust her. Besides, I like the cold. Thirty years later, I get a postcard. I have a son and hes the chief of police. This is where the story gets interesting. I tell Tiffany to meet me in Buckhead by the Grand China. Shes been waiting for me all these years. Shes never taken another lover. I dont care. I dont show up. I go to Berlin. Thats where I stashed the chandelier.

We were here in Atlanta for a conference and happen to see Grand China and stopped to have dinner, It was very good. I would recommend this place to anyone. The owner greeted all her customers but we got lucky and she sat and talked with us for a while since we told her we were here from California. Tse-Chih Chang was very friendly. Told us she loved Sausalito Ca very much. Also told us neighborhoods to visit and look at the beautiful homes that were over a 100 years old. Which one of them happen to be hers. I really loved talking to her and I know I could spend hours just chatting with her. Great friendly Classy Lady... Thank you for your hospitality.....Yoli & Bryan Diemer. Elk Grove Ca..

I found this place on groupon and decided to give it a try for a date for my husband and I. the food wasnt good tasted like they had just put it in the microwave for a long time, there was some type of white paper over the tablecloths ( i guess so they wouldnt have to wash them) but the tablecloth under the paper was dirty. The food we selected the groupon coupon covered the cost but then the lady charged us $12.00 dollars for tax! after we went back and forth about it she said she could take a couple dollars off... needless to say we will NEVER go back to this place again....nor will we EVER recommend this place to anyone. It ended up being a very unpleasant date for us.

This is by far the worst Chinese food weve ever had. We ordered the shrimp fried rice, sauteed green beans, general tsos chicken and creamy shrimp with walnuts. The fried rice and beans were decent however, the general tsos and shrimp dish looked disgusting and tasted disgusting. The general tsos a typical Chinese restaurant dish, was in mush breading that tasted like doughnut in a sweet and sour sauce. The creamy walnut shrimp, was the worst! It was shrimp covered in a Krispy Kreme like breading on a mayo dressing with vegetables. The dishes were unedible and a waste of money.
