Let me set the stage a little bit. Tonight we were meeting some friends for dinner at 6p at GRAVEYARD TAVERN. We sat down, and a waitress came over to inform us that the restaurant was for 18yrs+ and older. She was very kind in delivering the information, clarifying that smoking was allowed at the bar, as well as the rest of the restaurant after 9pm. She was willing to ask her manager if an exception could be made for Campbells young age, but we let her know that it wouldnt be necessary. Thank you unknown waitress for your customer service. Now, unsure of where to eat, our friends and us began walking around EAV to find a dinner spot. We ended up at Flatiron Bar. A sign is posted on the front door stating "Under 21 not allowed. No smoking". Given that Campbell is 14 months old, AND smoking was prohibited, we walked in. Bar was crowded, with plenty of open booths. Before I an even ask employees if its okay for us to stay, some extremely rude guy behind the bar says "no one under 21 not allowed". I respond with "seriously? not even a baby?" He says "yeah seriously, hes under 21 isnt he?". Look dude, a simple "yeah, its policy sorry" would have been okay, but you made your establishment look like complete assholes when you proceed to yell comments at us while were walking OUT of your place. Congratulations on losing future business from us (were in EAV often).

Today was our 17th wedding anniversary so my husband said he had been to flatiron several times and it was good so we decided to go here for lunch after church. My husband, cousin and her husband and her 3 sons who are our Godchildren ages14, 16 and 18 decided to go here. My cousins husband and her 3 well behaved sons are black Americans and we are white. (This is relevant to this review). So when we entered the restaurant we were told we could not be served inside because it was a bar/restaurant because the boys were not 21 which I completely understand but we were not told to have a seat at the outside tables instead we were told that there was another place down the street. This was obviously a prejudicial thing. I have lived in Atlanta all my life and with the diversity in this area who would have thought we would have been treated this way. So please dont patronize this establishment. You will be treated horrible and even if your money is green you better make sure your faces are white.

Not friendly to industry. I spit on the sidewalk and management thought I was throwing up and even after a long explanation and after waiting over an hour for a Cuban sandwich. Trump supporters for sure. Im a bar manager and I can say Ive never been so disrespected even after tipping 40+% (10 on $16) again industry beware. Long story short they kicked me and the 8 people I was with (predominately industry) out. Did I mention I waited over an hour for a sandwich and still tipped 40%? note to all... assume everyone is industry and treat them as such. I hope the management reaches out to me after this to discuss tonights experience. If I was really as bad as they thought, I wouldnt be typing this up less than three hours later to annotate my experience.

Disgusting. The bartenders were eating chips while serving in the middle of the bar. NO HAND WASHING WAS HAPPENING. Im all for the punk rock theme, I love the whole idea of it. We were going to order something to munch on but when the bell rang for food to be run out to the tables none of them cared. They just wanted to eat chips and flip their hairs. Plus my guinness was pored so sloppy. One beer and we bounced.

Listen. This place is great. Service is a normal level of attentiveness, which I prefer to the always-bothersome service styles of some other restaurants. Food is above average for bar food, and the beer is cheap. They have an awesome brunch and a killer selection of vegetarian friendly food. Ive been eating here for years now, and have never had anything I didnt like or bad service. Boom!

Went on a Monday for lunch and had the specials, brisket taco and a beef vegetable soup. Both were very good. Brisket was tender and flavorful. I was pleasantly surprised by the soup which had the usual veggies and okra with a generous amount of beef. Outdoor tables available, music was good and not too loud. I will definitely go back and try some of their other menu items.

Good food, cold beer, and great staff. What else do you need in a neighborhood bar? If you want your food served with a side of pretentious then i suggest you go to the Highlands. But if youre down to earth and work hard for your money; then have a seat at Buddha, share a drink with Bruce Lee, and welcome to your new home away from home. Cheers friends!

The services seems to have changed from past reviews! They are wonderful, some of the best service in EAV! Everyone is friendly and seem to be happy you are there! The food is great bar food. I recommended the seasoned fries and the buffalo chicken sandwich! I recommended the Flatiron as a place to go hang out with friends to grab a drink and to eat!

Sweet baby purple Jesus. They put a fried green tomato on a burger and it was amazing. Imagine a burger so delectable that people would travel from far and wide to wait in a line out the door before tasting it. Imagine a burger so good that it could sell out before dinner time. Thats flatiron.

The food is eh, its ok. Service is good though and the drinks are cheap. Since the place has a lack of a real isolated patio, the past few times Ive been I couldnt hear the people I was with about 5 feet away because of either loud music from cars or loud motorcycles.

My favorite bar in the Village and there are a lot of good ones. Really great food, unique food specials, and the new bar up top called Trophy Room is the best. They have the coolest restrooms. Barebones, no food, no smoking. Just good, basic fun.

This restaurant in the heart of East Atlanta Village is conveniently located to many of the shops, bars, and other restaurants. The food is a pretty typical bar menu with a slight twist and prices youd expect.

One of the hidden gems in the city in terms of food. They have a daily rotating special that is featured on their Instagram account, @flatiron_atl, - always delicious. Plus, the atmosphere is laid back.
