I am not one to write reviews, but I was so disappointed in this place. I have lived in Athens for 3 years, and I always hear rave reviews about this place. This place is supposed to have "the best" burgers in Athens, so I have always wanted to try it. I went with a friend from out of town early on a Friday before it was busy. When he took our order, I had realized they didnt ask how we wanted our burger cooked, which I thought was odd, but decided maybe the restaurant has only a certain level they will cook it to make sure the burger taste up to their standards or something. But then the burger came out, and it was well done. EXTREMELY well done. The patty had no pink, and was even a little crunchy. The burger did not taste bad, but it was very disappointing. I wanted to show my friend from out of town how good the food is here in Athens, and this place was a huge let down. She got a burger with jalapeños on it, but they looked oddly cut, and swore they tasted like green peppers instead. However, I did not try her burger since I do not enjoy spicy things, and wasnt willing to test it out. The french fries were pretty good, but they come separately, not with the burger. Last but not least, service was.... ok. Our guy could have been a little friendlier, but I dont have a problem with service not checking up on you every couple mins as long as drinks are full, so overall service was fine. May could have given 3 stars, since everything about this place probably results in a 2.5 star rating.

To the waitress who got the $1 tip from me today. You had on shorts and had a big tattoo on your right arm. Yes I know my tab was $24 and you deserved a better tip. You took care of us and made us comfy while we were dining in with you. And the food was pretty good. I had no problem tipping you more when I walked in....but when my fiance went to go get our car he realized that it was leaking gasoline. We just recently moved out on our own and we are both inbetween jobs and so as is our budget is pretty crappy. Even more so this time of the month with our rent due in the next couple days. So with incoming financial terror on our way...I felt terrible leaving you a $1 tip. Im a former server so I know how it is to live off of tips. And I must say that when I walked out of the bathroom I had intended to apologize to you for the unfair tip and then heard you trash talking me to your co-workers about my shitty tip and then to top it off you said "Thanks for the $1 tip!!" on my way out. I left your supposed family friendly establishment in tears.

One of my favorite joints in town, and thats a tough call considering all the absolutely amazing places to eat in Athens. The veggie-burger here cant be beat and, though I havent had them, I hear the ACTUAL burgers are pretty dang good, too. I implore you to check out their eclectic menu online that tops your burger with everything from pickled cabbage to peanut butter. Their sweet potato fries are amazing with raspberry jalapeno ketchup and the cole-slaw is the really tasty vinegar base I am still trying to imitate at home. The decor is this weird, kooky, sort of 1950s B-movie shtick I love and theres usually a japanese super-sentai style show above the bar. Theres Bells on draft and great staff to help out and the after dinner mint is one of those unchewable double bubble bubble gums which I find incredibly charming. They have a real connection to the community and even do little contests every once in a while. Make sure to check them out if youre in the mood for a burger or hot dog thats out of this world.

The first time we went it took forever to get served but the burgers were good (they have very unique burger combinations). We thought wed give them another chance... big mistake! The 30 min wait was expected. The 1.5 hrs sitting in the sun outside waiting for food was not expected. We were brought our sides (fries, onion rings, and totts) as appetizers because burgers were taking so long. After being there a total of 2 hrs or so we asked for our check and our food to come out in to go boxes since we were now running late. (BTW two of our neighboring tables has been waiting even longer, has received their sides as apps also due to the length of time, and left without ever getting their burgers). My husband and kids ate their food in the car on the way home (I drove). We had ordered our burgers all med and med well. They were all VERY well done. Definitely will not be returning. Definitely not worth the $50

Clocked came highly recommended. Unfortunately, had a poor experience there. First, they called us to table and sat us down at one that was still dirty, though ostensibly cleaned. 10 min to drink orders. Waitress was civil but not at all friendly. Soft drinks no good, had to take them back. Machine problem for sure but part of the experience. 30 min for food to arrive after ordering (just burgers and fries). I spent the 30 min sipping on my replaced drink, which was out when food came. Never got a refill to go with my jalapeno burger. In fact, no got a refill offer although all drinks were empty or near. Burgers were all well done altho no one ordered them well done. Garlic parmesan fries just had some cold parmeson cheese sprinkled on top. Sorry but pass on this place.

I have two small boys and we LOVE this place! For under $6, children can get a FULL portion of many different entrees, along with an organic juice box, a tiny brownie, and a side item. One of my boys got a cheeseburger that was the size of an adult portion. The large Greek salad isnt very large, but was plenty for me. Their vinegar dressing is wonderful... Meals can be pricey, as you pay separate for the entree, and then an additional amount for each side, but it is worth it for the location, atmosphere, and food. The servers are ALWAYS very friendly and helpful. They have 5-6 outdoor picnic tables. When the weather cooperates, this is the place to be!

Clocked was one of the first restaurants I dined at following my move to Athens a year ago. The service was atrocious but the burgers, fries and dipping sauces made up for this. I have dined at Clocked at least 10 times and have noticed that the service has gotten significantly better over the past year. Now, not only do they have the best burgers Ive ever eaten, but they also have some of the best service Ive received at a downtown Athens restaurant. The Great Meteor burger and the basil-jalapeno dip are out of this world.

Ive eaten at Clocked many times, but yesterday (10/10/15) was my last visit. I was excited about bringing a group of friends to try the restaurant, but our waitor was extremely disrespectful. This was the first time I have ever felt guilty for ordering food. The group of off the clock employees chain smoking cigarettes at the table behind us was only icing on this cake of dismay. However, if these possibilities do not dissuade you, their burgers are quite good.
