STAY AWAY!!! NOT ONLY CAN I NEVER RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT I TELL EVERYONE NEVER TO GO! On a Friday night, my friend and I decided to grab some dinner after a frustratingly long day of work to only become more frustrated after the visit to this restaurant. First thing is our waiter was not very friendly and asked what wed like to drink then walked away. When he came back and we realized he was actually our waiter, I ordered the Queso fundido which came out as basically burnt crusted cheese and was disgustingly greasy. While my friend ordered a texas margarita and a vegetable enchilada because she is vegetarian. She asked if the margarita was made with sweet and sour mix and he replied no but of course was obvious of sweet and sour mix and was probably the worst margarita ever. But the enchilada was the most pathetic thing as it was a plate with onions and peppers slapped with a tortilla on top of it and enchilada sauce. Nothing was rolled and we sat there wondering how we could bring this up to our waiter. I asked him if this was an enchilada and he stated yes and I asked him if he could take it off our check as we are not going to eat it and then aggressively replied "Why!? That is what you asked for!? That is an enchilada! Veggies, tortilla, sauce and cheese!" (There wasnt even cheese). I sat there and had no words as my friend replied that it was just not what we expected. When the check came out I was ready to leave so I stuck in the card and handed it to the waiter. When it came back for me to sign I realized the numbers didnt add up but my items receipt was no longer there. I asked to see it again and after a look he had charged us for a more expensive margarita. All he could say was "Oh I charged you for a more expensive one" No apology, no effort to fix it, nothing. I was baffled. He replied to not tip him and just hovered over us as we finished signing the check. As we are not A*holes although this restaurant is we still tipped. We left but my friend was so infuriated she called back but the restaurant was so loud the lady on the other line couldnt hear her. After she finally understood what she was saying she replied no managers were available to speak. This place obviously has terrible food, drinks, and service so Im not sure why anyone would come back??

I would like to tell you about the food, BUT I NEVER RECEIVED IT. If you like a place that the blonde bartender ( that should NOT be a bartender ) that ignores you while she chitchats with other people at the end of the bar instead of working, never checks on you to see if you need anything, then this is the place for you. Oh ya, after they screwed up the manager will offer a free meal with an excuse in why they didnt cook your dinner. ATTENTION to all bartenders, waiters, cook staff, and managers. Whats worth more then a free meal, is a persons time. You cant replace someones time. How can you put a value on time that is lost forever. The owner would understand what I am saying. When someone comes into your restaurant to eat and drink, they expect two things, that is QUALITY FOOD WITH EXCELLENT SERVICE. Tonight you failed in both.

I was extremely upset with my overall visit to this specific restaurant (windward parkway) we didnt get our drinks until after 20 minutes of ordering!! The food felt as though it were sitting out for a good 15 minutes after being freshly cooked. I spoke first with the manager who didnt seem at all concerned with our complaints until the owner came over to address us, whom wasnt a help in our situation, although he apologized twice for the inconvience we did not see any three of those men after staying for another 15minutes hoping the service and atmosphere would change. I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone! I would rather go to the one all the way in Crabapple (which is more customer friendly with hot food) instead of the one that is 7 minutes from my home.

I go here often. The service is always pretty good and food is really good. There are 2 reasons I didnt give them 5 stars. 1) Salsa - Id like to see onion and Cilantro slivers in the salsa. 2) They close too early. There are many occasions I think: Im going to get an appitizer and margarita, but I check the clock and they are closing in 10 min or just closed :( I think on Fri and Sat 11pm isnt too much to ask. That said I LOVE their Margaritas. Unlike so many other restaurants that give you tiny drinks or weak drinks, Tarahumata makes AWESOME strong Margaritas! I typically order the Texas which costs a little less and I really enjoy, but the Jose and organic are awesome. Ive brought many friends to this place who are now also regulars.

The place is nicely decorated with a good ambience and vibe. The food is good, and the selection is pretty diverse. I like that they have cerviche on the menu. It feels a little pricey but maybe not for the Windward area thats pretty uppity. They service was so, so. Our waitress was more pretty than helpful. I got the steak & chicken fajitas, and the dish came out a bit cool. Also, they only gave me 3 minuscule corn tortillas with it. I asked for more, and they charged me a extra dollar. So petty. This is the kind of stuff that really irritates customers. If I had gone to a cheap Mexican place, they would have given me a whole stack without me asking. I did leave full though. Strong portion size.

I was really expecting a higher standard for a place with such fancy decor in a nice area. My entrée was poorly presented and overly salted. My waiter was not friendly and after taking my order proceeded to ignore me while walking by my table for thirty minutes, never once checking on me. After making eye contact several times and still being ignored, I stacked all my plates on each other and pushed them to the far end of the table to indicate that I was done. I sat like this for another ten to fifteen minutes while he continued to walk by and help other tables. The place had maybe six tables and it was about 4pm on a weekday, so this was not due to it being too busy. I wont be returning.

Food was good but not like the pictures. Ordered the flagship MOLCAJETE ARRACHERA because I had seen it in a add on tv - we ordered 3 of these and they were served in big stone bowls in wooden boxes -pretty good presentation. Taste was great but the meal was actually skimpy on the meat(not a heaping pile of steak and shrimp like the pictures). Also while writing this review I wanted to spell the name of the dish correctly so I looked at the online menu and it looks like we were supposed to get salads with them. We did not. Overall tasty meal but chips and Salsa were not as good as other much cheaper mexican resturants and we spent $111 before tip. Service was good though.

Delicious food, but terrible service. Our server spoke in spanish, and we told him we dont speak spanish (were African). He looked at us like we were lying. Next thing we know we have another server without any warning. He took our order (wrong). The runner brought our food out with a smile. The server never checked on us or refilled my coke. When he brought our check he threw it in our table and walked away without so much as a good day or thank you. I ended up tipping the food runner, because he was very hardworking! The old grouchy man and the younger guy are a-holes. But the food is good, if you dont mind the servers. I wont be returning, however.
