ve been living the Stone Mountain area for 25 yrs, and have been a loyal customer at the Original Pancake house for a LONG LONG time. My family ate there this afternoon, March 19th, 20011 and it was one of the most awful meals I have ever had in my life. I ordered a steak (med rare) and it came out looking like the sole of my shoe. The home-fries, which Ive been raving about for years, looked like little pieces of oiled down sponges, and had of all things, canned chili peppers "cooked" in them. I almost threw up. I took those things and put them onto a separate plate and set them at the end of the table. The server, who was very nice, asked if she could get me anything else. I said no, and just tried to eat the 3 eggs and toast to stop my stomach from turning. However, I ended up paying $9.95 for 3 eggs and a piece of toast. Unbelievable. And even when I told the person at the counter while I was paying the bill that the food was absolutely disgusting, I STILL wasnt offered to have the amount of those items taken off the bill (which was 46.45) Wow, almost fifty dollars for complete garbage. I will never go back to that place ever again. Ps. Ive worked in MANY MANY kitchens AND have worked as a server plenty of times in my life and that was the first time I did not leave a tip. I feel bad, but not really.

This was my first visit to Original Pancake House and I will definitely be back. As a self-confessed pancake fiend I was only too-hyped to try theirs and I was not disappointed! I was slightly overwhelmed by all the different pancake varieties offered on the menu, but I eventually settled on the banana pancakes and a spinach omelette with cheese. My sister got the bacon pancakes with a side of cheese eggs and... more bacon. The banana pancakes were delicious! They come with a tropical syrup that I can personally do without - just give me the old-fashioned maple syrup! Luckily they went ahead and brought a syrup dispenser filled with the good stuff to our table so I was good to go. My omelette was BIG and fluffy and delicious, too. My sister raved about her bacon pancakes and said she enjoyed her cheese eggs and bacon strips. Next time I go, I think Im going tho try the pecan pancakes or maybe the forty- niner pancakes... or perhaps just the good ol fashioned original buttermilk pancakes. Sigh... decisions, decisions.

Same fine food as any Original Pancake House. You can customize your egg order and you always get pancakes with every egg order. UPDATE: May 2017 - Ive eated here since they opened 20+ years ago. I was a little worried recently when I visited and saw mostly new staff and wondered if the management had changed. No worries - the food is still fantastic. These are the fluffiest pancakes in Atlanta metro. The egg dishes are huge and come with a side of 3 pancakes. You can split an order and still feel full. I like the Minced Ham and Eggs and ask for them to add onions and other veges. The hot tropical syrup that comes with the Banana Pancakes is citrus flavored with zest of lemon (very yummy). The omelettes are massive and very hot. Do not order if you are in a hurry. I find the new metal chairs cold and uncomfortable but it wont stop me from eating here. This is NOT a cheap restaurant. Quality is high and so are prices.

One of the iconic breakfast restaurants in the Atlanta area. Weve been going to The Original Pancake House for years. The service has always been great. They recently updated their menu with some new items. I switch up getting pancakes with the sour dough French Toast. They are one of the only breakfast places to still use thick cut bacon which is divine. The omelettes are huge and will fill you up for the rest of the day. They use heavy cream which makes the coffee super smooth. All of this at a reasonable price! The only downside is that when the restaurant is full, it can be hard to hear each other talking at the table. This place has become a tradition for my family and friends to go to on Saturday mornings.

I have been going to this location for a long time. I have seen the corned beef hash that used to be delicious turn into a vinegary mess. The home-fried hash browns are a mess of oily and limp potatoes with overcooked onions and peppers. If I was writing this review 10 or 15 years ago, I would have said they were "Excellent" in terms of food quality. It never was a really well decorated place, but who really needs or wants all that if the food and service is good. If they get their quality up to the standards the other national locations have, they could be a class act again.

This was my third or fourth time eating here. We went last Saturday morning. There wasnt much of a wait but when we were seated it took a long time for the waitress to complete our order. Refills were nonexistent and the food wasnt that great. I got the peach pancakes. It wasnt fulfilling as other dishes on the menu. This is not factored into my review, but the menu has a lot of typos. I dont think I will be returning to this location. The waits are too long, service is not great, and the food isnt as good as it once was.

We went on a Friday morning. No wait time. the food is out of this world!! We had an omelette, pancakes, and peach crepes. Everything was so good that we went back and took my in laws the next morning. We did have a bit of a wait, but not too bad. Again, everything we ate that day was absolutely delicious. My wife got the cherry crepes, and they were very good. The coffee is really good also. Definitely will be going back next time we are in the area.

My favorite breakfast place. Fresh fruit crepes are beautiful and perfect. For some reason, they seem better at the location near Emory. Pigs in blankets are also great. Their omelettes look like flying saucers and seem to be a big hit, unfortunately I am not an egg fan. This is definitely a great place to try. Georgia pecan waffles, yum.

Excellent!!! Havent had any issues since my first visit. My love hipped me to the pecan pancakes, and ooh-wee!!! The waitress we have had each time weve been here, someone different each time, has been nice and attentive. They should really think about expanding by getting a larger building or making this one bigger.

Im not really sure why people like this place so much, other than the nostalgia factor. The food is not good, the service is ok. But really even an IHOP is miles better than this place. Lastly the Pancakes... This should be their best dish and yet they are flat, powdery and just plain bad. Go anywhere but here.

Id never even heard of The Original Pancake House and was pleasantly surprised. The prices are about what youd expect for this type of eatery (think Waffle House or IHOP) but I actually liked it better than either. Portions are GIGANTIC, so dont be afraid to share!
