Not sure about the first class service mentioned in a previous review. Maybe we were around for the bartenders with a chip on their shoulder last night 4/23/16. Either they had been experiencing a crazy/stressful night or maybe theyre just normally not in tune with something called customer service and the customer experience. To top it off, we received a glass of wine with debris from possible their dishwasher and/or sediment from the bottle of wine. It was an excessive amount and what appeared to be a grass like substance. When confronted, the bartender responded, "I know a bit about wine, thats normal, it happens all the time!" (FYI, this is our first experience like this and weve been to plenty wine bars, vineyards, and restaurants throughout the years) WOW, really, my wife didnt even get a, "Im sorry or can I get you a new glass and some wine." Clearly the staff needs to be a bit more professional and trained about GOOD customer service.

Went here last night after finding excessive wait times at the other restaurants at the Avalon. What a great find. Their wine list was superb. I did a flight and my Aunt did a lovely glass of an Argentinian Red. We tried a few different appetizers to share between us. It was fantastic. The service is top notch. Try the Goat Cheese Beignets!! They are wonderful. We also enjoyed the Fig Gorgonzola Bruschetta. However, not a fan of their Brussel Sprout salad. I will definitely be back to try other options off their menu!!

Cheese fondue is better than the following: tuna stack, Charcuterie plate, crab cake. Not to say the others are bad, however they are on par with other places and the cheese fondue really stands out with the dippers (Brussels, pita, apples, pears, and butternut squash). I havent gotten that anywhere before.

Cute little wine bar. Not busy at all when we went on a Sunday evening. Waiter was very friendly and helpful. Interesting wine selection with less mainstream options. Several choices for flights of whites and reds. Highly recommend the goat cheese beignets and the cheese plates with honeycomb and a tiny knife.

I always expect a little bit of pretension when I come into wine bars as I visit a lot, however, here it was nothing short of feeling right at home. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. Food is great, I did not eat a lot of dishes but the tables around me seemed to really be enjoying everything.

Great atmosphere with nice location. Waitress kept my change and didnt bother to bring a receipt. Food was okay. No Beignets were available during this visit. (Defeats the purpose of dining at a place thats Crescent City Themed)

Although the ambiance was good and the service was great, I was talked into ordering a $28 plate of cedar plank salmon that was maybe 3 oz, overdone, and served with warm corn potato salad (ew). Wouldnt go back again.

Prices are insane. You could buy the bottles at those prices and have your own tasting at home without having to drive. This owner needs to read the Mikes book from Dogfish and learn some business.

Goid wine great location and rooftop dining is romantic
