NOPE NOPE NOPE NEVER EVER AGIN. Never again... .First, the service was absolutely horrible. Second, We order several appetizers, the calimari was tuff and smelled like a bait bucket, the Blue Crab dip was less than ok. We should have listen to the waitress when she said it was not good, dont order it. Belive me when I say , "it was not good." The conk fritters were fair at best. The Strimp Pots were good but cold. We also ordered 1 dozen raw oysters. They were not fresh, they were not very cold, and they were gritty. Also NOT GOOD. Thirdly? The drinks were weak, we waited on our second round of drinks for 25 minutes. And Fourth, We all ordered the catch of the day, which was Flounder. We were informed the kitchen closes in 8 minutes so anything we ordered had to be fried. It was 9:35 pm on a Sunday night. We convinced them to grill all 4 orders. We chose not to get the black beans which came with the dinner. The Flounder tasted like they cooked it in the cheapest bottle of wine. It was disgusting. Cold and not good. And we order 3 cups of Cllam Chowder. The worst by far Ive ever eaten. And to top it off the saltines were stale. After paying the well over $100,.00 bill, on our way out stop by the restrooms to wash our hands and it was worse than the stuckys bathroom in Yee Haw Junction. Filthy dirty and smelled like a sewer. The reason I am so upset is because the place was empty. Our group was the only one eating and there were 7 people at the bar. NOPE NEVER AGAIN.......

October 29th 2016. We called to find out when the Halloween costume contest was ....and we were told by the phone employee @ 9::30. Which was true but SHE didnt say that... 1) that would be the start of round 1 of 3. 2) and that you could come and participate in later rounds 2 or 3. which werent held until 12 and 1 am . A ton of people showed up@12midnight. Great . And they participated in round 2. By the time 1::30 am rolled around they were having round 3. Which again would let in late "qualifiers ". Complete chaos and the management of the contest . And Complete misinformation to keep you at the bar until the very last second of service. Which, by they way they were woefully prepared for. By midnight...They ran out of glasses. And the bar staff was overwhelmed with 4 people bartendng. We will skip the 4 hour contest, and crappy service next year!

I havent been here in a while but I did remember the shrimp and grits which was delicious, so I ordered it and when it came out it was completely different then what I remember...I didnt like it at all it had no flavor, I told the waitress and she told me there was a new chef and he changed the recipe and put his own twist on it, I wish they hadnt changed it because it was soooo good but anyway, I was hoping the waitress would offer me to choose something different but she didnt, she offered me a box to take home after I told her how much I didnt like it, so I paid for something I didnt eat and she also didnt apologize either knowing how unhappy I was. I really did like this place but definitely wont be going back.

Riverside Cafe is in a nice location hands down no doubt, but apparently everyone is not welcome. I have tried to go and have a nice night out and every time Ive been there I was told to leave before I even show my I.D. I have was told that I wasnt welcome because my shirt was to long or either my pants were too big. I was told that the only way I could enter is if I tucked my shirt in. Ive seen many people coming in and going out with long length shirts not tucked in, but for some reason the security personnel at Riverside seems to always pick me to basically single me out and try to make an example out of me and Ive never did anything to cause any trouble.

Great service by Denise. Lackluster captains plate. The crabcake was cottony greasy and cold, lots of breading, no lumps of crab. The fish was rubbery and cold, felt microwaved. Three lonely curled up, dry, overcooked medium shrimp completed the repertoire. Sad, when you see the kitchen has the ingredients to make magic happen, and all they deliver is a cheap trick. The chowder was a well doctored number ten can pour, enhanced with bacon. The onion sticks were well fried and well seasoned. My companions mussels were plentiful and tasty. His wifes peel and eat shrimp the standard frozen to steamer fare. All said and done, nothing to write home about.

The place was busier than all get-out, and we waited 10" for the waitress to show up, another 20" for her to take our order, and--honestly--40" for a burger and fries. The food was only mediocre (the Black and Blue Burger was unspectacular ground beef with a cajun coating that was unimpressive). We left 2 hours later $22.00 poorer for the experience. HOWEVER...if you want to be where there is a lot of bar action, close to the city and marina, and on the water (Intercoastal), it does have a nice location. My advice: go there for a drink and eat elsewhere, whether it is busy or not. My companion stated his meal was similarily unspectacular.

Went there for drinks on a Tues night. Decided to stay for dinner. Staff is friendly. We ordered 2 appetizers : Conch Fritters were good. Regular loaded nachos had little nachos, cheese was not melted enough and tasted wrong. Then we ordered Clam Chowder that was probably made with too much starch and had very little clams. It was too thick and cold. They didnt charge us for the chowder. Had a Lobster Roll that definitely didnt look like the picture on the menu. It came with soggy Cole slaw, stale fries, a big pile of iceberg lettuce with two sad slices of tomatoes.

Sit out on the deck and although there was only one table out there being used, they put us at the worst table, on the corner where everybody walks. Had their award winning Chilie and it was taseless and like water. The chips were stale, the (sweet) tea didnt tast like tea nor was it very sweet. Wife ordered chicken fingers that she said was not good. Like cardboard. One tea glass had to be sent back because it was still dirty. The waitress while not bad, wasnt good neither. Never refilled the tea and only checked on us one time.

this place is the most overpriced place in vero beach. the food is horrible and drink prices represent a resort, this place is far from a resort. have to hand it the owner david lane, he is making a killing over there. people dont mind the high prices and poor food. you hear lane talk about the owner of the property vance howdyshaw, saying if he only knew what i was making here would either raise the rent to 25k per month or just run the bar his self and the funny thing is i would pay the 25k per month.
