Im actually very disappointed! After reading such amazing reviews, I thought this would be the perfect place to have lunch after church. I will start by saying, the servers (two young boys) were absolutely amazing and had great customer service!!! The food is very very good! My only complaint was, there was a older lady working as well. The two boys were very busy with other customers, so we asked the lady for some milk. She just kept rolling silverware and basically told us no as she rolled her eyes. 1. Ive never experienced a server upset about someone asking for something even when it isnt their table. So when the bill came, we had extra charges that we werent aware of. So we politely told the server and he quickly said no problem and went to change the recipet. But then the same lady who refused to help us, came over and was telling us why would we think we could get things for free? My friend and I didnt say anything and just waited for the server to coke back. He had fixed are bill so we paid. As we were getting ready to leave the lady just kept rolling her eyes at us and unfortunately she didnt realize that BOTH of us speak Spanish. So we were able to understand what was being said by her. Im saddened because I truly love to support local business but I cant support one that treats customers rude. I understand we all have a bad day but that was just unacceptable. We wont be returning here. Again I want to say the young boys are amazing!

Great little spot for really good Mexican food at a good price. Ive gone twice in the past month for lunch and both times the food was delicious, and inexpensive.. The place is also clean and has neat decor. Service is prompt and friendly..I was treated as if I was an old friend who had been gone for a while. The 2nd time I went I took pics of my lunch.. view them on this review. Each dish was as tasty as they look in the pics. The fresh made guacamole was fresh and decadent. The fish tacos were filling and the chorizo torta was well made and tasty. The torta had crisp cool veg with that warm chorizo filling.. Yes, they use Cuban bread, but its delicious.. To any die hard Mexican foodies, or anyone who wants to complain that its not authentic because its on Cuban bread, relax about the Cuban bread... in reality the traditional Mexican bolillo roll that is used for a torta is made from dough similar to dough used to make a French baguette, so let that spin your head for a bit.. IMO, the Cuban bread is a nice fusion nod to the local demographic of the Tampa Bay area...and its probably easier to get than bolillo rolls.. To sum it up, if you want great Mexican food at a great price with friendly service and a clean place with nice decor, make your way down to La Villa Mexican Grill..make sure you have an empty stomach.. (no, I dont work for them or know anyone personally who does... the food is just THAT good.) :-)

A must if you like Mexican food! This is the real deal! All fresh ingredients put together with perfection! My husband is particular about his child rellenos and these made him very happy. He also tried the black bean soup he loved! I had shrimp quesadilla and they were delicious! Not greasy like most other places serve. And they were the tastiest quesadillas I have ever had in any restaurant. Another in a party enjoyed the steak quesadillas. We also watched our fourth person in our party completely clean her plate of enchiladas! We were all stuffed but couldnt pass up the opportunity to share a serving of the best flan ever! This is probably the best Mexican food ever!

We found this hidden gem by their reviews. They met every expectation and then some. This is a family operated restaurant and you can tell they take pride in what they do. Thier barritos topped with queso and their Arambre are amazing!!! Everything we had was great and the service was great as well. Side Note: A party of 20 sat down about 15min before us, so naturally Im thinking our food is going to take forever. To my surprise everything came out quick. WE WILL BE BACK!!!!

Fantastic Mexican for the East Tampa area. Very quaint intimate atmosphere. The owner Estella waited on us and was very attentive to detail with our order. The pork tamales are fantastic. So great in fact we ordered some to bring home. The queso had a rich creaminess that was different from what Im accustomed to. Very refreshing compared to the boring queso other Mexican places tend to serve. Authentic Mexican at a price that you cant beat! We will be back very soon!

Got a burrito that was covered, food was cold, had little to no flavor. This is Mexican food for white people, not what I would call authentic. You would think that with Hispanics making food it would be better. Nope, went out of my way and now I feel sick to my stomach. Will not be back, I always have a theory if I see white people eating in a Mexican restaurant, keep going its going to be bad. Will continue to find real Mexican food , ITS NOT HERE.

WOW! Everything was fresh and delish! Ignore the posts about bad service! Just becasue someone isnt blowing sunshine the entire time they see you, it isnt bad service. They were very busy and still attentive and fast enough. We like a little time to enjoy our food so the pace was great. Pro tip: Get 10 large roasted tomato soups to go and hoard them. OMG, soup crack!!!!

Very good and authentic Mexican food! Owner/chef spoke about the great care he has with all of his recipes. The pork burrito i had was delicious! The pork had soooo much flavor in it. The side of rice and beans was also delicious. Cant wait to go back and try some other dishes. Happy to have found my new go to mexican restaurant!

We decided to visit this restaurant because of the good reviews. The food was awful beens out of a can ,onions not well cook ,no taste, just simple rice. Big mistake never again. And there was a lady server she did not have any customer service at all, my wife was afraid to ask for tortillas she looks so mad, we just wanted to run.

Love those locally owned hole in the wall places? La Villa is that kind of place. Its our Taco Tuesday go-to restaurant now. Everything is made fresh so it can be a little slow when it gets busy, but its worth the wait. The place is also a little cramped when busy, but thats part of the charm. Try the soup...delicious!

Stopped in randomly for a to go order. The young man at the counter was extremely pleasant, the service was prompt and the customer service was excellent. I typically dont leave reviews but I was so impressed with their customer service that I felt compelled to. Well done La Villa!

This was the worst mexican food weve had. They dont even have fajitas. The salads do not come in a shell and enchiladas were open face with very little chicken. We came a long way because of good ratings but I dont know what planet these people come from. Never again!!!
