This restaurant is a HORRIBLE PLACE! We called in for reservation on Thursday. The guy on the phone told me the sit would be available for us at 8:30 PM, and asked me number, name for future contact. He said if anything would change he would call us to let us know. But when we showed up in the restaurant, the server told us they cannot sit up and it got delayed indefinitely. I was very unhappy, then another server told us to gave them 10-15 mins She guaranteed twice we would have a sit by then. We waited for 20+ mins, the second server was gone and never came back. Finally we were told they cannot sit us again without apologize. According to them the waiting time is indefinite (at that point it was already 9PM). No one apologize no any sign at all. Every server acted very "busy" walking around, swiping menus etc. When I finally complained to them, a guy showed up asked me to repeat again (3 times I explained to different servers at this point what is going on), and he only told me "we are sorry" with a poker face and an expression as if saying "what you can do about it". This place is freaking horrible, This is the second time things like this happened to me in the same restaurant. Ive never experience anything like this before in any restaurant and Ive never seen any restaurant as disorganized as this one. All the servers look very unhappy to work there. What is the whole point of making reservation if it means nothing to them? What is the whole point of asking your number and name if they cannot even give you a simple phone call in beforehand? The way they treat customers is very disrespectful. I know a random customer review probably means nothing. I do not know how YELP rating system works. According to all the post, this restaurant is definitely not worth a 4 stars in here. Whoever plans to go there please be aware of this. The worst place in Tampa bay. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Update: after this happened, the next day I sent the manager of this restaurant an email to complain. The manger responded quickly, he/she offered a $50.00 dollar discount for my next visit. However, it is nothing about the money, Im not complaining for that and Im sure I will not set my feet in that restaurant again. So I refused this offer. Even the email is very standard email I figured I should give the managers response some credit by updating in here.

Teppan-YUCKY is more like it. I gave Kobe 3 tries at getting Teppanyaki correct. Being a New York transplant, I had been to several Teppanyaki restaurants in my former home city since one of our offices was across the street from one and another around the block. When I go to a Teppanyaki restaurant, I expect a few things: 1. At least a decent show: a chef can do some tricks and knows how to cook! - Pretty basic for a teppanyaki chef. 2. A starter salad that isnt just large clumps of iceberg lettuce drowning in ginger sauce 3. A soup... not broth with 8 small pieces of mushroom and 2 small 2mm long pieces of scallion. 4. Not waiting for our server to remember to refill drinks without 2-3 reminders. Each time we have gone, one or more of the items above occurred. My daughter really wanted to go to a teppanyaki restaurant for her 11th birthday. Unfortunately, all four of those items occurred last night. Such was our experience for my daughters 11th birthday! To add insult to injury our chef decided to talk politics and economics for most of the dinner with my stepfather. No one else had any interest in such a conversation and it was rather obvious. Advice: Go back to basics. 1. people go to your restaurant for a show, entertainment and good food. Learn the skills needed and be engaging and entertaining. Avoid topics such as religion, politics, etc 2. Teach your chefs and service staff how to cook and present food appropriately Repeat #1 & 2 until you have a loyal clientele. Your only competition in New Tampa / Wesley Chapel is Yamato... you could easily be better than them. But unfortunately, your firm is turning into Wasabi Part 2 (For those of you new to New Tampa, Kobe used to be called Wasabi... and it went our of business it was so bad.) #NeverKobe #Teppanyucki #Teppanyucky

This Sunday evening had us waiting about 45 minutes, but at least Kobe gave us an accurate time estimate, so we waited. We had dinner at the hibachi table and the staff was attentive to our refills. They worked well with each other and everyone at our table got their orders correctly. Cook at table did the usual entertainment routine and our atmosphere of adults was casual and enjoyable. The children/adult table across from us were enjoying their dinner also. After stuffing myself to the roof of my mouth, I was reminded how good everything was. Cook did a fine job and every entree looked and tasted very good. Stomach hurt from over eating, but whos to blame for that one. Three refills on tea, soup, salad, noodles, rice, and teriyaki chicken, - and a to-go box. In todays society its a rarity to get waited on immediately when dining out, but if you have the time to turn the evening into a dining event with some entertainment and mixing it up at the table with other diners, youll find this at Kobes. Four stars, great overall. Perhaps a bit slow on servicing/seating the mob as they came through the door, but with hibachi arrangements, you can anticipate a longer wait, if you have the time. Someday a larger restaurant is probably the only solution, but for now its on the menu of unique places worth going to.

ZERO STARS! They have changed EVERYTHING around since the last time I went there.. Check your tabs as soon as you get them and make sure they didnt add random items on it by "accident." We ( as in 2 ) were seated along with other guests.. and we noticed the table next to us complaining about how they added an infant child to their gratuity as if they served 5 adults. When the chef got to the table, and I will mention his name, Kenny, he started with inappropriate comments which made everyone already feel uncomfortable. So along with that, they have downsized the serving amount..they used to split noodles up of 7oz for the table, and now it is 3 oz but they didnt downsize their pricing amount!! I guess they try to make it seem like its actually more than what it is by chopping it up into little tiny pieces to where you cant possibly pick it up with chopsticks. We will NEVER come back to this place again... I recommend that you dont either, unless if you of course want to pay overpriced food with smaller portions and horrible service!!! I WlLL recommend Kobes Japanese Steakhouse 100% over this dump!

My wife and I just celebrated our 15 year anniversary, we decided to go to Kobe Steak House even though we have never gone there before, but we wanted to do something different for our anniversary. I did my reservation online a week before, as soon as I got there, I was greeted with a smile and I was told that a table should be ready soon, 10 minutes later we were seated right away. Our waiter was very friendly and professional, we explained that it was our first time there and took the time to explain the menu. After doing so, we had a wonderful experience, the Chef was great, the food was awesome, the Pina Colada was exquisite. After we finished, they gave us a couple Kobe Hats to wear while they sang a song to us. No question, the 2nd best experience I had in a restaurant ( the 1st one, without a question, was having dinner at a Disney Cruise); therefore, I was impressed with Kobes food, service and prices.. I will be back again with my kids.. 100% sure..
