We must have caught them on a bad night, though the statement on the menu about how they give ONE free order of chips and salsa per table, not because they have to but to be nice suggests that they have a problem with people asking for extra. The restaurant was hot, possibly worse for us because we were seated right next to the kitchen. The chips were cold and stale, which I am not used to at a Mexican place. Our server repeated our drink order incorrectly, kept saying diet coke instead of regular coke. I ordered a steak chimichanga dinner, my boyfriend ordered the milanesa steak dinner. On the menu, it says that meal comes with rice and beans, which the server confirmed with him. Soon after, the server brought his tortillas in a warmer. Several minutes later, a different server brought my dinner and told him that they didnt have milanesa and asked if breaded chicken was okay. He was fine with the substitution, but wished theyd said something sooner so our meals could be ready at the same time. When they delivered his chicken, we asked why theyd waited until they were bringing my meal to tell us they didnt have what he ordered. We were told that they had actually cooked the chicken thinking it was the Milanesa. They left, and we realized that they hadnt given him his rice. We were about to flag a server down, but she came directly to the table with a plate of fries. We asked for his rice and were told that the meal came with fries, not rice. Of course by then we didnt have a menu to refer to. Maybe the breaded chicken comes with fries, but that should have been confirmed when they asked if breaded chicken was okay...something like "Sir, our breaded chicken meal comes with fries, is that okay?" Or, even better "Do you want that with rice, like comes with the milanesa or fries, which is how we usually serve our breaded chicken?" In the end, we paid for our meals but did not tip our server--this was decided by the boyfriend, who paid the check. We wont be back, as we know of at least one Mexican place that serves hot fresh chips, red rice (not yellow) and charges about 20% less.

My husband, my adult daughter and I went to Guadalajara last night. There was only one other table and one booth occupied. The server asked if we wanted a table or a booth. We asked for a booth and were led to one. I started to sit down and sat in some liquid. We were then led to another booth. We ordered three Bud Light beers. The server brought then quickly along with two beer glasses and one gigantic mug. She said they didnt have any other glasses because the new dishwasher had broken all of them. They had tall plastic glasses for water which would do for beer in a pinch or maybe go to the grocery and buy red solo cups would be a better option. We ordered. I ordered Carnitas. The Carnitas were chunks (not shredded and not crisped) and were fork tender but had no flavor at all. They were served with a salsa (chopped lettuce, chopped tomato and chopped onion with no sauce or spice. Tasted like a salad. The refried beans were really a puree with some melted cheese on top. The yellow rice was probably the worst rice Ive eaten anywhere. It tasted old, was clumped together and cool. I took one bite and no more. It was just awful. The best thing in my meal were the flour tortillas. Served crispy and hot. Three small ones. There was no guacamole, no sour cream, no lime which would have gone a long way to making my meal better. My daughter shared her sour cream and guac with me and said she was pretty happy with her meal. My husband ate about half of his gigantic burrito. He said the only way he could eat the rice was to mix it with the soupy refried beans which looked like a puree. I was really disappointed because we had gone to this restaurant a few months previous and it was excellent. Before leaving I visited the restroom and it needed cleaning badly. Maybe it was just an off night. But we wont be back. Too many other places to spend your money.

My husband and I went to try this place, and everything was very good, but when you enter to the restaurant you cannot tell where is the host-stand because nobody is there! after a little time a waitress appear and sit us the first place she could find (the restaurant was almost empty), and make us wait for almost 10 min until someone finally appear. She serve us ice-cold chips and watery salsa with no hot pepper at all, after that she disappeared for another 10 minutes and when we start asking questions about the menu she couldnt answer a simple question about if the "fresh tilapia" was fresh or not, she told us that was really fresh because it was frozen!!!. Either way my husband decided to try the tilapia and I ordered some Pastor tacos (which dont taste like nothing at all) when the waitress brought the tacos I thought she forgot to bring us the salsa and I asked if she could bring some salsa and she told us that she was going to charge us $1 dollar extra for that one once of salsa. Finally after 35 - 40 min wait we got our food which have no rich Mexican flavor at all. I would not recommend this place to anyone who would like to eat authentic-real-Unfrozen Mexican food. "La Teresita Tex-mex" on columbus is much better than this place. Just my opinion!

First, one of the waitress took our drink orders. About 5 to 7 minutes passed and we still had no drink, which their was about 4 tables with people. So the other waitress then came and got our drinks order. She came back with our drinks in reasonable time. It took her a little bit of time to come back to take our food order, but she finally did. We got our food after a long wait and the people beside us that came in after us got their food right after us. After receiving our food she did not come back to check on us or our drinks, which we drunk. Trying to wait for her to come back so we could ask for our check and to-go boxes she did not show. We finally had enough and went to the cash register, where we had to wait for the lady to bring the check to pay. After, finally paying we left her a tip based on how we got treated, which she had a nerve to get mad at us and point out that we didnt tip 15%. Im sorry but as a waitress you get tipped based on how well the customer is treated not because you think they have to pay 15%. She should have be thankful we even tipped because of how bad the service was. I dont recommend eating here.

Ive been coming to Guadalajaras for about 3-4 years... My uncle found this place and we went here and were hooked. All my friends and co workers I tell about this place, and anyone that I recommend this place to gets hooked as well....Whenever I have visitors from out of town, I bring them here... I live in Clearwater where there are tons of other Mexican restaurants....I drive here because this is where you go if you want REAL MEXICAN FOOD....tacos de asada, carnitas, al pastor...their rice and beans... lengua....carne con chile verde....Menudo...Caldo do res...BARBACOA...everything that you can think of as "Mexican soul food" is here and its the best around..... I went today and had a few tacos de asada and a few tacos de barbacoa....incredible...so good I got two barbacoa dinners to go ... the waitresses are great...the owners are always friendly.... dont be afraid to speak English either! Everyones English is perfect so no weird language barriers.... This place is just all around the best!
