Ok lets start with the good things. My family and I went for dinner. The restaurant was clean. The decor could use some updating. The chips and salsa that they serve was tasty. The Pico de Gallo that they have for an appetizer had awesome flavor with a little bit of heat to it. The prices are very reasonable and you get large portions for the price. The waitress that we had was excellent. She was on top of things. Ok now for the bad. The food...the most important thing had a lot to be desired. I ordered the Burrito Loco and it was huge. I got the chicken and the chicken was very dry and some pieces tasted like it had some seasoning while the other pieces did not. My burrito was cold. I know it had some items that might bring down the temperature like sour cream and lettuce but it should not bring down the temperature to the point that it felt like everything just came out of the fridge. The presentation was not good. It was just a folded over tortilla not the tucked in burrito that I am used to having. There were huge chunks of lettuce which gave it a weird texture (I am used to shredded cabbage in burritos). The tortilla that it was wrapped in had a nasty pasty texture and it tasted funny. Needless to say that I only made it less than a quarter of the way thru it. My husband ordered the Three Amigos platter. The steak was seasoned well but it was like chewing leather. He said that the chicken was not seasoned at all. He liked the re-fried beans and rice. He also took the guacamole from my burrito and said that it was the best he had in a long time. My kids all had burritos too and they said they like theirs but my daughter said that her re-fried beans were thick as paste and tasted like it. I tend to agree with that. I have had much better Mexican food in Tampa. If you want some really good Mexican food I would strongly suggest the Taco Bus on E. Hillsborough. The food there is very tasty and you get large portions for reasonable prices. The Taco Bus food runs circles around this place. This was my one and only visit to the La Hacienda.

Food was average, prices were very reasonable. Service relatively poor. Atmosphere is lacking. The lighting is very depressing, and may be to hide a seemingly dirty place. I went on Saturday, and had a relatively poor experience. When I walked in with about 7 people, no one greeted us initially until I walked around a bit to get their attention. It wasnt crowded when we came in. We had my 18 month old niece with us and I went to ask some gentleman on a laptop in the back left corner if they had crayons and he gave me a look that made me want to leave right there. He looked at me, and simply nodded a no and ignored my presence, going back to his laptop. Very rude. There was two servers, who werent moving with a sense of purpose. The one we had was a friendly older woman, she shes the only reason I didnt walk out. She went out of her way to find a sheet of paper and crayons for my niece. I didnt make a big deal about it, but she went out of her way to repair my initial experience with laptop guy. Overall, okay place for cheap Mexican food. Service was irritating, but was improved when server came. Unsure if Ill go back, food wasnt anything to gush over.

The actual food itself when it comes to taste was good but I was very disappointed with the food prep for my to go order. I ordered a chalupa and all I got was a corn tortilla with refried beans thrown on top and Mexican rice on the side. I am of Spanish decent and know how my ethnic food is supposed to look like when I order it. They put some guy on the phone to tell me that is what is supposed to look like and I was use to eating spanish food I would know! I guess they put him since I was speaking English that I was a Americana! I dont feel like I have to pull the spanish card out to someone in order to get good service. White, black, Asian or Spanish customer service should all be the same. Not tell me if I was Spanish I would know. I do know!

While the storefront doesnt seem the most welcoming upon first glimpse--I would recommend this place. We were very pleased with both the prices and taste of the food. We ordered the chicken fajitas, and chicken & shrimp quesadilla(s). Food was promptly brought out hot and very tasty. Also, they offer complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were a little bland, lacked salt--but paired pretty well with the salsa. Our server was very friendly and tentative. He suggested we try the Texas Margarita and boy, was he right! Definitely would recommend it, the pitcher is a really decent price ($21) and 4 of us were able to share it perfectly. Overall we enjoyed our time and will come back next time we are in town!

Horrible service, the manager/owner is extremely rude she treats her customers disrespectfully. I came to have dinner and some margaritas and was not greeted, had to seat myself and waited nearly ten minutes before someone acknowledged my presence. When I informed her that no one had acknowledged me she argued that I had not been sitting there for that long and proceeded to argue with me because I informed her that her customer service was lacking. She then asked me if I wanted to order or if I wanted to leave so I decided to try and stay but she continued to argue with me so I got up and left. The food is ok but not worth the aggravation.

just this week I was complaining about no authentic Mexican food here when I happen upon La Hacienda...and within 2 miles of my place here. not much signage or positive viability from outside...but once in the food and Service are Fast and the food delectable. the chips and sause as starters are always fresh and homemade. carne asada burrito was great. enchiladas on the 2nd visit this week were super...but next time I will order "mas picante" because they cater to locals who are not used to traditional mexican. Ana the server was great and her family owns/runs the place. oh...prices SUPER reasonable.

La Hacienda is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the Tampa area. It took us a long time to try it, mostly because it doesnt look like much from the outside, but we are so glad we finally did! The staff is always friendly, the food comes out super fast, and 2-for-1 margaritas everyday... cant beat that. The food is excellent, and everyone at the table gets their own salsa dish (a big deal for those of us who like to hog the salsa). Id recommend this place for anyone looking for great Mexican food that wont break the bank!

Good Mexican Food This appears to be a family run Mexican restaurant in the corner of a strip mall. The location is odd and a little run down. The restaurant is out of date and wasnt very busy during our visit. The service is average, but the time to get our food was quick. The food was great and good quality. The pricing is very reasonable. They apparently have two for one Margaritas everyday. Give it a try, even though if may scare you at first sight.
