Ill start off by saying that this was only my second time there and the first time was a really busy Saturday morning but I would have never expected this for my second time there. My son and I met my sister and nephew there. My son is 3, her son is 2. The first awkward incident was our waitress, came and asked if there was something wrong with my nephew because he was making loud noises. Asking if he had enough food or if there was something wrong with him, as if he was making those noises for any other reason except for the fact that HES 2. The waitress told us that the owner asked her to pay a visit to the table to make sure. I personally asked 3 passing by waiters for a to go box, the children had become antsy so we let them get up from their seats. Now yes, I am aware that them being out of their seat causes a safety hazard but theyre kids and were watching them. The hostess walked up to the kids and said that they needs to lower their voices and not be running around. They hadnt been that loud and quite frankly, they werent even running around, they were within arms reach. I asked her not to address the children we are their moms and she could speak with us directly, she became rude and abrasive. She stated that people in the restaurant were complaining bc they had been loud. I wish I could have recorded how these 2 and 3 year old children were acting and compare it to the rude and disrespectful way that the HOSTESS was acting. As she brought me the to go plate she continued to bagger us about the kids as if we didnt comprehend that children who ACT LIKE CHILDREN, werent welcome in the establishment. Keep in mind that of the staff had brought the to go plate when it was asked for, then the children would not have been out of their seats for more then the time it took to walk out of the establishment. As we walked out, the HOSTESS (older, short heavy set lady, with a nasty attitude and unprofessional appearance) was speaking negatively in front of all the customers sitting in front of the cash register. Ill never give that place another dollar of my hard earned money. I called and spoke with Bill who pretty much brushed all of my concerns off and his only response was that kids out of their seats caused a safety hazard. These are kids that we are speaking about. Had we brought them in with muzzles would that have been more appropriate? God bless them, but what if one of our children has some type of problem that they made noises for no reason, it proves that because they are children, They arent welcome there. I may pay the establishment another visit, next time with the who family. Thats 2 kids for every 2 adults. And well see how things are handled then.

My husband and I went here 2 years ago and found a hair in the butter, brought it to our servers attention politely and we were told "our cooks wear hats..." implying that it wasnt their fault. We went in today for breakfast and my husband found a hair on his plate. We laughed and said "really? Again?" So we decided to finish and pay for our meal so it wouldnt look like we were trying to get free food (he had the sirloin steak and eggs). We get it. We both work at a restaurants. People occasionally try this. We just wanted to inform the kitchen to be more careful. We paid and left $6.00 on $28 and THEN brought it to the attention of our server. We were again told that it couldnt have been the kitchen because they wear hats. Well, it was under the tomato garnish, so it wasnt us. So is it policy here to not accept responsibility for kitchen mistakes? Again, Im a server. It happens, but I apologize to the guest and bring it to my BOH managers attention and get a remake. We are empathetic and just wanted to bring it to your attention. We didnt ask for anything free, a remake or a discount. We werent rude. We were sure to be discreet as not to upset other guests. Yet there was no apology or concern from your staff whatsoever. What kind of customer service is this?

Full disclosure: The only food or drink Ive had here is coffee. The coffee was OK, but Im with a local group of Real Estate Investors who meets here once a month to discuss the real estate market and our individual businesses, and we always have top notch service. They have private party rooms available too! The bathrooms are very nice - more modern than you might expect, the decor is quite nice. The whole restaurant always seems very clean as well. The only drawback I would list is probably an uncommon one - but they dont have many vegan options, if any. Vegans dont eat any animal products whatsoever, but this is a mainstream diner after all. This matters to me a great deal as I ascribe to the vegan diet. What I CAN comment on more generally is the restaurant itself! Those who love diners, especially, will adore this place.

After hearing rave reviews about Jay Christophers, my kids and I decided to go there for lunch. First, I was disappointed due to the state of the ladies restroom. The toilets were filthy and dare did I change my one-yr. old on their changing table. Next, the sandwich that I ordered was not what I expected (not quite like the menus description) and was the worst turkey sandwich I have ever tasted. You also dont get a large side order; I ordered the potatoes and got a handful. For 7$, the meal was not worth it. My children had pancakes and luckily for them, everything was ok with that order. On top of that, the service was delayed (from utensils, to drinks, to straws..you name it). Overall, I was not pleased whatsoever.

Good Food, Appropriate Portion Size Conscious, Whole Foods, All Natural, Fresh & Cooked to Serve, Free-Range Meats, Great Service! Adkins & Low Card conscious, Brunchies serves appropriate portion sizes, which is remarkable considering our societies expectation of Super Sized Meals. I am delighted to be served by a staff who has been there a long time, knows my name and welcomes me and my family like their own. I am gluten free and they have many options for the gluten-free folks and a kitchen & wait staff that is sensitive to my needs. Go local, Eat Healthier Options, and Enjoy a well cooked meal with nothing but food in your food.

Came here twice with a Groupon. The first time, we received great service and great food. I got the pumpkin pancake special and they were fantastic. The second time, the food was still pretty good but the service was awful. It was slow at the restaurant and the lady serving us only had one other table, but she didnt pay much attention to us. It took more time than it should have to get our food, coffee refills were sparse, and the check took forever to arrive. Thankfully, by then we were ready to leave. Still the food was good so I cant hold it against the restaurant too much that this lady works here for some reason.

My girlfriend and I dine here just about every other weekend and usually have a wonderful experience. The servers are attentive and friendly, the food is tasty, and the coffee is good. My girlfriend particularly loves the sweeter older gentleman that greets us at the door. Weve only had one somewhat unpleasant experience there and it was due to the waitress. She was very forgetful and seemed overwhelmed with her duties. But that one time was not enough to deter us from returning. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to one who has never been there and enjoys a great breakfast experience.
