If I could give it MINUS stars I would. The service was awful. Arrived on a Monday after work thinking I could enjoy some sushi after a long day at the office. There were two empty tables that seat two or three people comfortably and the waiter refused to seat me and asked me to wait 10 minutes for a smaller table to be available. Now, I understand that larger tables are reserved for larger parties, however the tables available were not that big and there was NO ONE waiting other than me. After 10 minutes waiting I decided to leave. When I told the waiter I was leaving he could care less. He didnt even apologize or tried to accommodate me. I wouldnt have minded staying at a table for three and then transfer to a smaller one as it became available if he felt that on a Monday afternoon they were going to be soooo busy (which they were not), its not a Friday night, what an idiot. I will never return to this place, awful service.

The service I had was great. My waiter was friendly and attentive. The food, however, was the absolute worst sushi I have ever eaten. Im very disappointed because I have heard so many rave reviews about this place. The rice was bland and so dry as to be early inedible. I ordered the veggie sushi plate as well as a few pieces of non-vegetarian nigiri. All of it was uniformly bland and had this terrible under-taste to it. The only redeeming features on the plate were the wasabi and the pickled ginger. (I wish I were exaggerating.) Add in a tiny place teeming with loud college kids and obnoxious political types who are boisterous and overly impressed with themselves, and I dont think you could pay me to go back. Im really sad about that actually because I live within walking distance and was really excited to have such a highly-lauded sushi place right around the corner.

Used to love this place. Great location and great prices. However, I sadly now cannot return to what used to be my favorite sushi spot. Service was awful! I am never that person to complain about an order, especially because I have been a server before, but I thought because I am a loyal customer and I knew majority of staff that I could inquire. I decided to try 2 new rolls, but I was very disappointed with how they came out. I could not eat them no matter how much I tried. I kindly asked the server if there was any way she could get me another roll. She proceeded to tell me "no". And when I asked to speak to a manager she said there was none on site?? She did absolutely nothing to help me and wound up making the situation worse by back talking to me. I was so astonished and disappointed. The customer service was absolutely awful and so sad because this was my fave.

I have no idea how this place gets so many good reviews. I have been to most of the other sushi restaurants in Tallahassee, and I can say with certainty that this is by far the worst out of them all. I only came here once with a co-worker during my lunch break. The waitress we had was inattentive, and we were left waiting for a while even though the restaurant only had a few other patrons. The glasses that we were given were dirty, so were the plates and silverware--not something I like to see in a place were raw fish is served. I ordered three different specialty rolls. I remember the sushi being about the same quality as sushi from Publix, but more expensive. Take your business to one of the other, better sushi restaurants in Tallahassee. Siam, Sakura, and Mori are all much better than this place.

The food was great except I went on Saturday night and sat near the sushi bar, well 2 drunk girls were being extremely rude, obnoxious, and annoying. None of the staff was Professional ( not even a manager) enough to ask them to settle down...they were literally taking pictures of my friend and I without our permission...and laughing...it was awkward... the staff looked at us like they were "sorry" we had to deal with it...but even when we mentioned it to our server...she had a blank stare like she did not know what to do. I work in a restaurant and would have not just avoided the situation. It is unfortunate because I really liked this place...but because of this situation and how badly it was handled...I will not return and will tell others about this as well.

If it was possible to give negative stars I would, had a horrible experience here ON MY BIRTHDAY. The waiter misheard my order, I didnt touch it and asked him to take it back and not charge for it; I offered to pay for the soup and salad separately but he wouldnt let me do that. Had to pay an extra 20.00 for a meal I didnt order, and the food in no way justified the price. These guys have really messed up with me, everyone that has asked about my birthday has heard about this and has said they wouldnt go to a place with such terrible customer service. As for the 6 people that I came with, they also guaranteed they wouldnt come back.

I think people are overlooking the price, for about 5-7 dollars a role you get some decent sushi and they have drink specials geared toward the college crowd. Id say its better than publix but of course ive had better. Staff is nice but you can tell its laid back. When I say value I mean it, me and my mom came here before my orientation at fsu and we had the meal for two which included 4 sushi roll (about 8 pieces each) A salad with delicious ginger house dressing and a miso soup all totaling about $22. I would give it a try unless you cannot stand eating nothing but the best rice and fish seaweed raps.

Loved this place. We were in town for a concert and someone recommended this place for some good Asian food. We all got bento boxes (about $10 all depending on what you want) and it was delicious. Soup was served before everything else was brought out. we all had the miso and agreed it was some of the best. The bento box was decently sized and the portions were perfect. We all finished everything and the wait staff was very friendly. They have beautiful art on their walls, and I loved the seats by the windows.

I did a call in order when they opened at 11:30am. They said it would be ready at 12. So, I showed up at 12 and had to wait around for an additional 15minutes. When I got my food they forgot one of my rolls which was $10 but I was already running late so, I just left. I didnt want to wait around longer for them to make it. The sushi I ordered was pretty good.. it tasted really fresh and I was happy with what I ate.. but I did not get full and wish I had that extra roll that I payed for.

The Jasmine Cafe is a regular haunt for me whenever Im in Tallahassee! They offer nice affordable options to get your sushi fill up as well as some more pricey rolls around $10-$14 that will take you on a flavor journey. For those that dont enjoy fish, there are other tasty options like rice or noodle dishes and sandwiches. These dishes have fresh ingredients and are a very nice option, though I think the flavor of the Pad Thai needs some tweaking before it will be perfect!
