Beyond terrible is the best way I can describe our experience while dining at this location. My wife and I decided to eat at Golden Corral this evening because we recently had an excellent experience at the one in Brunswick, Georgia. We assumed Golden Corral had uniform standards of cleanliness and food quality. Assume makes an ass out of u me. For starters, the cashier line and waiting area smelled like dank trash. Im speaking of that horrible smell which is left over when a bag of trash has a small hole in the bottom and leaks on the floor leaving the ever so disgusting dumpster aroma. Everything seemed as if it had not been cleaned since the grand opening. Extensive layers of grime were present throughout the restaurant serving areas. The staff didnt seem to mind the serving areas which were riddled with food scraps and spills. The salad bar was unkempt. No fresh dinner rolls were available. I had to request dinner rolls to be brought out. I understand how things work in the restaurant industry and I know during rush hours it can be hectic. The problem is the restaurant barely had anyone in it. Maybe 1/4 capacity. The ice cream cones were so stale they were chewey. Old melted ice cream was evident in and around the machine. The dessert area had a serious layer of dust on top of the counter above the food. An employee was on her personal cellphone while wearing safety gloves in the back corner of the dessert bar. I had to interrupt her conversation to find out if the ice cream was frozen yogurt or the former. She seemed to care less about the fact her station was dirty and customers were in view. The food in general was very poor quality. The chicken was dry. The fries tasted like they were from lunch. The rice has hard. My wife said the cheese had started to encrust on the macaroni because it was so old. Did I mention it just felt dirty. The place has numerous health code violations which I will be contacting the health department first thing in the morning for a surprise inspection. The restaurant needs to be closed down and thoroughly deep cleaned. I will say one positive thing about our visit. Andrea, our server was excellent. She worked her tail off attending to our table as well as her other tables. She kept my glass full which is hard to do because I drink about 4 glasses of tea at each sitting. Did I mention the pizza? I mean cardboard with cheese. My infant son loves pizza but he couldnt eat it because the crust was rock hard. I tried to scrape off the cheese but he decided he didnt want it anymore. Going back to the moment we entered. I ordered a sweet tea. I am not joking when I tell you this. I took a drink of the tea and immediately my throat began to hurt. It was that sweet. Luckily, Andreas tea was excellent because it would have seriously made me peeved. You must have good quality sweet tea at a buffet. We are in the south. I asked for a manager. I dont know who Andrea brought over because he wasnt wearing any identification. He looked like a crack dealer. Facial hair unkempt. Shirt stained and unprofessional. We relayed our concerns to him. He seemed like he didnt care but wanted to give the impression that he did so it made the situation worse. I told him about the woman on the cell phone and he said he would handle it. Cell phones are riddled with bacteria and viruses. This was the major factor in writing this review.

The 2 stars are for Gary our server, he is the only reason my review is 0-1 stars. Gary was very helpful and charismatic as a server in the restaurant biz should be. Other than that I was extremely dissappointed this visit. Have not been to the corral in a while, I was excited about the dessert line mostly. The soft serve ice cream and chocolate fountain to be exact. And what do you know, the soft serve machine was "out of order" (or someone was too lazy to fix the machine) The chocolate fountain did work but was useless because there were no strawberries or sweets to dip in the chocolate. I would have just stuck my head in the fountain to get my sugar fix, but more so just to prove a point that a chocolate fountain is USELESS without dipping treats. And an undermaintenanced , treatless dessert line would be incomplete without the rude, classless, lazy food attendant behind the bar. When I asked if they had any strawberries available for dipping, I got shut down and sent away with a disrespectful roll of the eyes and obnoxious smack of her teeth. And the cherry on top of this treatless, ice creamless garbage cake was the family that brought in a WAILING, SCREAMING toddler that decided to sit right behind me, of course. Their child was throwing things, kicking, screaming and the family just say there and ignored it. We picked all of our stuff up and moved across the restaurant, irritated that this childs screaming was echoing all through the restaurant and the family, NOR THE STAFF, did a Dang thing about it. So I sat, with no strawberries, ice cream or patience eating my food as fast as possible so I could get out of there. And that folks, was my last visit to Golden Corral! You can catch me at KCs Country , just a couple miles west on north Monroe before the interstate. Better food, service, soft serve machine, etc etc etc! All in all, just dont go here, folks. Youre welcome.

I used to live near this place and I used to take people there when a variety of foods was needed or a "type" of food could not be agreed on. This place was great when it opened back up but slowly over time, its fallen down. There are seldom enough drumsticks on the buffet and when I have my grandkids with me thats the part of the chicken that they want. For a while they had extra drumsticks on there but not now. Often theres only some mishapen unidentifiable chicken pieces left on there for long periods of time and people are pacing and waiting for the fresh fried chicken. I also used to go get to go boxes but one day the one item that I like to get off the salad bar was clearly left over from the day before. Its usually freshly put out every day but that day I almost vomited and left without getting food. I have also had the cooks standing there at the grill and putting things out say borderline disrespectful things to me and my grown daughters. BEWARE ALSO THERE ARE often dangerous characters slinking around in the parking lot over from Lake Ella. Ive been targeted for crime twice.

Im attempting to not even rate this place, because I dont see where I could give them a zero. We arrived here me and my aunt approximately 1230 for lunch. Thinking this was the beginning of lunch fresh hot food! Exactly the opposite the food was horrible. Noticed this gentleman in a white shirt, thought he was in a high position for the store. Told him about the food showed him a couple of items. He basically brushed me off. Saw another person who I assumed was in a position of authority spoke with him and he was a little defensive at first but after speaking to him i understood his frustration. He offered to give me our money back, but I told him that wasnt the reason I approached him. I want him to make it better. The young lady in the desert stand made the visit her name was Von she made my aunt feel like she was her daughter. Its seems that the Golden Corrals Ive been in here lately folks jus drawing a paycheck, they dont care and thats sad. By the way the first gentleman I spoke with was on a district level.
