Arrogance and bad food... whatta combo.. Google should give option to vote for 0 stars. Arrogance and bad food and horrible service at its peak. Dont waste ur time n money. Its much expensive than any restrnt. Any Two dishes will take 1hr to come to ur table. Went here on a Sat evening.. and ordered dahi poori and paneer pakoda and one curry and chapathi and roti(whole-wheat). After 25 min, we told them you can get whatever is ready. Dahi poori came in a plate, with poori, chutneys, filling and curd and sev separately. Have never seen such a serving till date in life anywhere in India or u.s . To make it that way, it doesnt even take 30 sec. N then after waiting for 15 min got the panner pakoda which didnt have proper salt in the batter.n after 20min , after asking them to give food the curry and two breads and rice came . The roti was specified as whole wheat in the menu and the one we got was white and looking horrible was just frozen naan. And so was the paratha which was almost deep fried. And the rice which came was so fat... Thought will give some genuine feedback and told the owner, this is not basmati rice and not even raw rice. She denied to even talk to me about it. She said you dont have to talk about it. Thats how we have been serving here ever since. I told her to ask anyone in the restrnt whether that was basmati rice. She almost walked away. My husband asked about roti..she z they dont have roti and thats why they substituted. Why werent we asked before that? She said you dont have to pay , you can leave . The couple sitting behind my table, called the waitress and told the chutney was stale. And they waited for 30 min and told the owner she can cancel if the rice is not ready and they just packed it to go. THe rice was so fat. Also another table just beside mine, did the same... had one spoon of rice and asked for a to go box.Having eaten rice for the past 28 yrs, I know how a rice esp basmati will look like. And with such arrogance the owner says thats how basmati looks like and dahi poori is served everywhere. and I can leave if I dont like. Vowed never to step in again. Arrogance and bad food and horrible service at its peak. Dont waste ur time n money. Its much expensive than any restrnt.

Pathetic Food and even worse service. Summary: Ordered following items 1 Dahi Poori, 1 Paneer Pakora, 1 Chappati, 1 Paratha, ! Plate Malai Kofta Ordered at 0810 PM. Till 0830 nothing came. I then requested the lady, to at-least get the Dahi poori. At 00845PM, the Dahi Poori came and to my shock everything was desperate (Dahi, Sev, chutneys and stuffing in separate bowls). To make matters worse, the chutneys were really bad tasting. Did it take them 35 minutes to keep everything in a bowl? Paneer Pakoras came at 0900. Batter tasted bland and was soggy Compunded with the bad chutney, it was a disaster. After following up for the main course multiple times, it came at 0915 in the following condition - Parathas were like fried Frisbee - Naans came in place of Chappatis - (Complmentary) Rice was an overccoked Par-Boiled Rice. Now coming to the service, - When we spoke about Dahi Poori, she said "This is how we have been serving Dahi Poori and the cook has been with the restaurant for 10 years and he is from Udipi." FYI.. Dahi Poori is NOT FROM UDIPI and I have been eating Dahi Poori for 25 years, So i know how it tastes and how it should be served. - she said Chappatis was not there and therefore decided to get Naan (even without asking us and told us Eat it if you want. No apogies etc - For the bad qualirty rice,, she said, this is what our hotel is been serving cutomers for the last many years and this bag ws left by previous owners (who were Indians0, so it will be good. Couple of questions, These guys took over in January, Was there so much of rice that it lasted more than six months? Have you seen good rice? Bad Food can be offset by good Service.. Bad Food and Bad Service will ensure no person who likes proper Indian Food will ever come back again

Wish I had a decent experience but turned out a worst experience on 6 Apr 2017. Visited with a friend and we ordered Masala dosa, Onion Ravali Masala Dosa, Pav Baji and Channa Batura. Masala Dosa was a little OK but the rest turned out to be a disaster in taste and poor service with only one lifeless waiter with two other customers in the entire restaurant besides us. Chutney was a little ok but that saltless Sambar was good for none. My friend had to use restroom and got locked. After hearing the door banging, I tried to open using that loose and ready to fall knob from outside but couldnt. So informed the waiter who then came out of kitchen. He was in no hurry and did print receipt first and arranged a couple of things before taking a spoon/knife thing to unlock. On my friend telling them to take care of it saying you cant have customers face this, there came a wonderful response from waiter stating : It wont happen with everyone, only unlucky ones get locked. (That was not a statement made with humour but that serious expression!!) Still we then though atleast end with a nice sweet lassi and made a mistake ordering it. Better thing would have been to go home and prepare yourself!! It was an utterly disastrous experience for someone travelling 20 miles and paying $55 expecting an Indian Udipi hotel experience.

I have been here a couple of times. This was the last time that I will ever visit this place. We went today on a Sunday for a buffet - what a horrible taste of each dish as all it had was salt and not real south Indian spices. Really, this is not like the Indian food. They did not even service dosas for 20 mins even though the place was not more 3 tables fulls. And when eventually we got them, the masala within them was tasteless. The staple coconut nut chutney was over and it took them more than 30 mins to get a refil on buffet. Total waste of a afternoon which could have been a beautiful somewhere else. I cook Indian and I can tell you that Woodlands is a much better place to eat as they atleast have a taste if you like veg indian food. Guys - do not waste ur money and time - this place is a disgrace on Indian food which usually is cooked with a grace and taste. I still feel like vomiting and so does my wife after eating at this place. If you do not understand what Indian food is like then you may be OK to eat here.

I have never left a restaurant feeling this disgusted, especially an Indian one. They had one of the worst service I have ever encountered. I went there for a lunch buffet on 9/07 at 2pm (after confirming over phone that they stop replenishing items after 2.45pm). Half the buffet servings were empty and when we asked for refills, we were completely ignored. Another thing that just left me baffled was their drinking water was dirty--a fact which was lost on the server. When I asked the attendant to speak to the manager 3 or 4 times and all I was told was he was busy and didnt want to speak to his customers. When I finally did get a chance to see the manager, he told me items were still there and ran off to the kitchen. It is a wonder these guys are still in business with such a poor service level. I genuinely hope no one eats there for the health of their family and for the sanity of their minds.
