This was my first time going to an Indian restaurant. I have tasted home made Indian cuisine and loved it! I went during lunch time with a friend and did not find that much selections. For a buffet, it was very limited. The guy at the entrance was not that friendly. His outward disposition seemed to make me feel uncomfortable, as if he did not to help me. However, our server was extremely polite and courteous. He made sure that we had our drinks filled and quickly clear our plates off the table when we would go back to the buffet to try our more food. Maybe the dinner service may have a wider selection of food. I would definitely go back the restaurant again because of the service of the waiter. The food was also ok. I loved the golab jamun! That was the first time I ever tasted it. My friend who is a culinary arts graduate and who worked at many notable restaurants even thought that it was amazing. (She is not even a big fan of sweets, but she went back for thirds!) However, the chicken was dry at the time we ate and there were only 3-4 things from the limited buffet that I really like.

My best friend especially likes this Indian buffet right on busy University Drive in Plantation; we last visited on 11/21/15. For me this was a better than average visit; while India House rarely or never puts out a chana dish (my favorite), the curry goat was surprisingly tender and the chili chicken was pretty tasty (though the steam table should have been hotter). The vegetable curry and "chefs special vegetables" were just fine. My son eats naan and tandoori chicken exclusively; India House serves both at the table. As usual I finished the chicken my son didnt eat. This time, I got the lions share of the chicken, which was moist and tender. I really enjoyed it, even though it was already at the end of my meal. There was no kheer for my friend, who really likes it as a desert (they did have what I call "honey balls"), and the mango yogurt drink was just barely starting to ferment (i.e. it had a faint "tingle" on my tongue), but overall, my son got his beloved naan, my friend enjoyed her food and I enjoyed my food more than I expected on a trip to take my friend to one of "her" places.

I wish Google had a -10 option first off the waiter was VERY unfriendly when you ask him a question he answer you with very few words. My daughter is down from college and she loves to try different restaurants so I suggested this place because some coworkers said its was ok (They dont know good food) for this to be a buffet the was one salad choice they serve soup out of ice cream dishes which my daughter tried said it was nasty (One soup choice) but yet they said its a buffet everything on the buffet which was only seven things was all under temperature, small portion and under season. There is only one desert to chose from and that was nasty. This is a restaurant that I will not try again in life I hope I dont get sick. A lot of people gave them a five star but Im for sure its there friends and family members rating them a five.....I dont suggest Indian people to eat here either this place is garbage. I want back my $24.80 with my $4.00 tip DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE go to KFC

I typically dont leave reviews for establishments but this place has prompted me to. I called to order 10 naans and asked for the total. I was told that he couldnt look up the price because he wasnt near the system but said to pick them up in 5-10 minutes. When I came in he gave me a bill for $25.00 (+tax) for the 10 naan, making them $2.50/naan. Every other Indian restaurant in the area and accross the United States charges between $1.00 and $1.50/naan. I told him that was grossly above my budget and would only take 5. He brought me 5 naan in a bag and threw the bag at me and sneared "its a waste for us because weve already made the 10." When I brought the naan home, they tasted like cardboard and were equally hard. The restaurant itself is very old and moldy. In fact, there is mold growing on the ceiling around the A/C vents as a result of condensation and is inside what looks like an otherwise delapitated wing of a Holiday Inn. Avoid it.

I was thinking that some of these reviews were fake. We just came back from the India House. There was hardly any people there tonight or the last time we drove by, so I was not sure if the food was going to be any good. Pleasantly surprised, the food was absolutely delicious. I am amazed that this place didnt have a lot of people there. We had naan bread and chicken with rice. For appetizers we had lamb samosas. Theres another Indian restaurant that weve been going to near the 84 Diner, but this India House has it going on. We will definitely be going back. Im sorry for not taking pictures. Next time I go I will. Dinner for two was under $50 with taxes. Not too bad. Usually when a restaurant doesnt have that many people, it usually means the food sucks. This is not one of those times. The place was clean and nice. I would like to bring friends next time so they could experience Indian food.

I generally dont write reviews, but experience at this place actually made me write review. I traveled with my friend and wanted to have some good Indian food. We were totally disappointed. Reason as follows - * This is NOT an Indian restaurant - I am chef by myself and know what Indian food is.My guess is this is run by Pakistani owner. I could tell with the way dishes were made. We ordered Madras Chicken, and can you believe theres no curry leaves. This is just an example there was many more. * Highly price menu but quantity is much less than you get in regular Indian restaurant. * Decor is ok, looks like some banquet hall turned into restaurant through. This should be taken as a suggestion by restaurant. Anybody can call themselves Indian restaurant as long as they make authenticate Indian food and aware of it.

This is the second time I have been to India House and I continue to be delighted at the food and the service. I went with a group of over 10 senior women, many of whom had never eaten Indian food and were hesitant about "hot" reputation. We got unanimous raves about everything on the buffet including the goat curry (just a pleasant afterburn), the chicken korma, the various breads and the desserts. Some of the group had gluten issues and the waiter went out of his way to help her choose gluten free food. On the extensive dinner menu, food is marked gluten free, vegan, etc to help diners make informed choices. Even if you have never eaten Indian food, you will love the India House experience.

Great convenient location for me. The food is great. The Lunch buffet is the best. I go for the buffet at least once or twice a month. Doesnt get to over crowded at lunch time either which I like a lot. A lot of ppl know about India house but I dont think the word is really out on the lunch buffet...which keeps it intimate. I dont believe its as authentic Indian food as it gets, but thats to be expected as its all about demographics. They do have a fair and tasty selection of indian or indian fused food though. Keep up the good work.
