We dined here while on vacation in March 2008. Service was non-existent and with a very, very bad attitude. It took over 45 minutes before we had water, and then an hour after we ordered we got our salads, and then a much longer time lag to actually receive our entree.. They were also not busy at all on a Thursday night, and people around us who came in later than us got their food and drink sooner than us. I have been in super busy understaffed restaurants where the wait staff were apologetic and kind and the diner then feels sympathetic and this was not the case. The waiter was rude, sneering, and clearly wanted to let us know that he did not care. I went to ask the manager for a menu at one point, and he also was not interested in building harmony or repeat business by his dismissive attitude. The customer is NOT the priority here. Also, the food was mediocre and the entire evening was the type that left one feeling really horrible. This could be understandable if we were rude or strange people, but we were nothing but respectful and my husband even left a good tip, much to my dismay. Whoever received charm or service from this place must have had different staffing that night. The best place to go in Sebring is Inn on the Lakes. The chef is great, the food wonderful, and the setting and service is stellar.

We have eaten here before, and we enjoyed it. We arrived early on a Friday evening. The lady whom we assumed was the manager told us to seat ourselves and someone would bring menus. We did this. The server came over and took our drink order, and they drinks came quickly. That was the highlight of the meal. She came back a few minutes later and took our food order. The "manager" then personally sat a group a couple of tables away, and they had their meals within 10 minutes. Our waitress brought our salads. The two tables next to us were then seated. They received their drinks, their salads, and their entrees. We still have no rolls and certainly no entrees. We could not ask our waitress about the status of our food. She would not acknowledge us. After an hour, we put a $20 bill on the table to cover Mikes beer, my cocktail, and our salads. We left. I went inside the restaurant to tell them we were leaving. I will NEVER go back. We were there well over an hour and a half. This was supposed to have been a special evening for us. We were celebrating our 38th anniversary. DO NOT GO. The management does not care about service. I cannot comment on the food, because we did not receive our order.

I am a salesperson who travels in a six state territory in the South East and while the Sunset Grill is not upscale food compared to the major metropolitan areas I frequent the overall experieince was well above average especially for a smaller town. Maybe the negative reviews are from the managers of the local area chain restaurants or not so easily pleased seasoned citizens. Anyway I had the grilled Ahi tuna which was great and my manager had the Sunset Grouper special which he said was the best he ever had. If you are looking for a nice non-chain seafood restaurant the prices are reasonable at $14-$21 and the view was really nice overlooking the lake The drinks were a little high but they have a regular 2 for 1 Margarita special ($6.95) that was decent. The service was good but not acceptional and everyone was friendly. Our waiter Thomas was very helpful reccomending the best dishes including a truly amazing Double Chocolate Cheesecake which was baked fresh today..

My girlfriend has a gluten intolerance. So finding a place to eat in the middle of the state is difficult. We decided to try Sunset grill. The first visit our waiter Mark knew exactly what items the chef could prepare gluten free. As for me, I really felt like having surf and turf for lunch. I jokenly said "too bad you cant fry up some shrimp and put it on a philly steak" Mark said "that would be no problem." It was freaking awesome. One of the best sandwiches Ive had in a long time. The view on the lake is pretty good. It wasnt too hot under the trees in May when last we went. Our server that time was Adrienne and she was very funny and knew a lot about gluten free stuff also. My meal wasnt the best that time but my girlfriend loved her meal. We have to travel through that part of the state alot and will miss it when it closes for summer. I have read all the other reviews. funny how all the bad reviews sound like someone from India wrote them.

Tried it again after several years not coming here. I hoped for a much better experience but it was not as good as I had hoped. I ordered the blackened Salmon, it was cooked fine, as was the yellow rice. A stark dish indeed (photo). The dinner rolls were covered soaked in butter, ok but messy. My Mom took her meal to-go (she didnt feel like eating) but she did state that the ladies room was dirty and had a horrific chemical smell. A strange occurrence happened after we sat down; a lady walked past me, she quietly and firmly said dont eat here.... And walked out. I went out to ask what happened, she was upset about her meal and the preparation. Ive never had that happen to me! In all honesty, the location is great and the service was fine but thats about it. Im sorry but I wont be back and Mom doesnt want to go back either.

Do not go here. We had tge worst possible experience while trying to celebrate New Years. We tried making reservations yo which we were told they did not take reservations. When we arrived and were seated and while waiting for the rest of the party we observed an area of tables on the lower deck that said "reserved". When we inquired about this they said they did take reservations. They also said they had a $10.00 cover charge which was not posted anywhere. I told them that if there were going to charge ghis it had to be posted. We were then told that we had to leave because all the tables were reserved. We asked some bikers sitting close by if they had made reservations and they looked at us as we were drunk or high on something. Do not go here it is a scam of a place. Go pass it up north they are better places.

We are at a Sebring rv resort and were going to introduce this restaurant to a new couple to the campground. We arrived at 4 PM hoping to take advantage of happy hour and visit with these new friends we had met recently before we had supper. We are still trying to figure out why the server was so RUDE. The Sunset Grille offers well drinks and menu specials for early birds. We were unable to interact with our waitress and could not even tell her our concerns. We did finally talk to the manager, but not sure if it helped. Apparently the waitress was having a bad day, but it also jeopardized our friendship with our new neighbors here at the campground. Sorry, but we will scrutinize our waitress next time because the server means a lot to our meal experience.
