A cozy wine bar with a welcoming feel to it and an approachable staff is an accurate description for the Swirley. The wines are priced anywhere between $8-$15 a glass. The wine bar plays a movie in their seating area (movie is on a projector screen) just a bit away from the bar but even when at the bar you are able to watch the movie (at my time it was Dr. Strange). The bartenders know thier wine and are able to recommend a wine based on ones preferences. There was a specific smell to the place that seemed awkward, however, it either disappeared or my sense of smell was used to it. The beer select is rather limited but you go to a wine bar to drink wine. The parking area at night could use some improvements. All in all it is a great hole in the wall that is not terribly busy and you able to hear each others conversations.

This place is a much-needed addition to the neighborhood. The hand-crafted wood and metal interior is quite unique. The Swirlery is small enough to be considered the "Cheers" of the area-- where everybody knows your name. Fantastic wine, awesome events (movie nights and popcorn/wine pairings), and theyre open to new ideas. SoDos newest wine bar is killing it!

Cute wine bar! They have a nice selection of wines and a small selection of good beers. They do a blind tasting every Tuesday night, led by a sommelier, which is what we usually go to. Its a great way to learn how to taste wines and expand your palate and knowledge of wines.
