We eat at New Dynasty regularly and have for as long as theyve been open (14+ year?). The staff is very welcoming and friendly. I can tell you from personal experience that when they speak Chinese, they are giving instructions to one another. Ex. The owner is telling her son to bring more water to a table, or ordering more food to be cooked to be brought out to the buffet table. It is a way of taking care of business without having the customers having to hear it. The variety is great, so even if part of your family wants American food, theres something for everyone! If you happen to come in later in the evening, if there are low quantities and/or none of your favorite dish, they are willing to cook a small fresh batch. The price is also very reasonable for all the variety. It costs more to eat at the salad buffet down the street verses carving ham, peel n eat shrimp, seaweed, salad bar, fruit and dessert bar, soft serve ice cream with toppings, AND 2 buffet tables of Chinese dishes!

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Arrived to dinner at 7:40...they close at 9pm, and they had stopped putting fresh food out. We waited for over 25 mins to observe in any additions were going to be made. NO sushi, no vegetables, there was fried rice and sesame chicken, over 12 EMPTY spaces with sauces just burning in an empty pan. I politely asked to pay more for crab legs and I was told that they could not do it, and when I asked if they were going to put more food on the buffet both the server and the owner got rude and short with me. I asked if they normally make the guest ask for the buffet to be full. She turned around and walked away. SO RUDE!!! Save your money, please. Will not return.

I love New Dynasty the buffet is very large with lots of selections quality is almost always better than the rest out of the 20 or 30 times i have eaten there only once or twice has the food not been so good but i think its because we went at the end of a lunch rush or somthing... im pretty sure that this is owned by the same people who ran "China Star" which used to be off of Beneva and Fruitville Rd. years ago and i remeber the food there being just as good. Bottom Line: THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS THE PRICE IS RIGHT GIVE IT A TRY ^_^

I have lived in Sarasota for over 30 years. This has always been one of the better places to eat buffet. In response to the poor review, the owner is a nice gentlemen and the comment about the staff talking in chinese is true, but the staff is not talking about the customers. The staff always works hard, always picks up your plates and has your drink refilled very fast. They are kid friendly, the food is always hot and having eaten there every month for a long time I have not ever gotten sick.

Gone steadily down hill. The woman who usually works as hostess/cashier has been absent the last few times weve been in there. In her place, the young man who usually waits tables seems to be in charge of the buffet and cashing people out, and frankly, he sucks at both. Numerous empty or near empty trays on the steam table, and instead of ordering fresh refills, he attempts to "spritz" them up by stirring them. His demeanor is that of someone who would rather be anywhere else but at work.

I use this place often for take out. They give you much bigger proportions than other Chinese places. Their pork dumplings are amazing. The buffet is really good, lots of variety, and tasty. The buffet dishes are often switched out, which is nice to see, keeps it cleaner. This place is a great value. I have never had a problem with cleanliness here. An added bonus is they dont use MSG. Of course the food is salty still, its Chinese food, but its not salty from MSG.

Dark, smells terrible, I wanted to leave but my hostess wanted to try it. POOR collection, cold food, unpleasant staff. Weve tried it again it was the same, NEVER AGAIN!!! Not the cleanest. The only reason they stay afloat is because there is NO OTHER buffet near by! The nearest to the North is 20 km or 40 km to the South! Ive seen it before years ago it was just as bad then. You have to be very hungry and not experienced to like it!!

If you come after 830pm my recommendation is to FIND A BETTER PLACE. Cause apparently they dont cook after that. In there defense they were willing to cook what we wanted. Only issue the whole reason most of us go to a "buffet" is to NOT have to wait for your food! And get a variety! The food was OK but NOTHING compared to Mrs Chens

Staff is rude..speaking Chinese obviously about guests in the restaurant. Particularly the older woman who is probably an owner. Extremely RUDE!! Food made us Sick, would imagine kitchen is filthy. Will never return to this establishment and will spread the word to everyone I know. Very angered an put off by this experience

Food Quality is poor considering most of the Chinese Restaurants Ive been in. Average cleaness, The food especially the chicken had a funny taste similar to what fox tastes like.

The waiter walked to our table with a half empty cup from another table and picked our sons cup up dumped it into his cup as if this was normal! Never going to this place again!

Literally just went there got the sweet and sour chicken but into and it smelt like dog as soon as I cracked the breading of the chicken I made the host smell it
