This was my first time at Hayashi but I hope its not my last. While trying to kill time this afternoon I looked around for a nice place to eat Hayashi was at the tip of the list and theres a reason why. From the moment I stepped into the doors I was greeted by a courteous and knowledgeable staff. We got there just as it was opening and the server jumped to attention making sure we were informed of our orders and liked our teas he got out to us. We both got teas My grandma got black and I got green. We both got sweet. Shes not very adventurous so I got her the chicken teriyaki. Im a bit more experienced so I ordered the beef Bulgogi lunch box as well as a Hayashi roll. First up, the portions are great, standard sized miso soup but a decent sized pre meal salad. The house dressing sets wonderfully on the tongue blossoming with tang and sweet without overwhelming. The Hayashi roll was okay, but its an American style roll with tempura in the middle and spicy mayo. Out of everything it was my least favorite but Id still order it again. My Bulgogi was amazing you could taste the smoke, the marinade and the quality of the beef in every bite. It was cooked well and went wonderfully with the rice, gyoza, ShumaI, spicy cucumber, and melon. It was all so delicious but I got full fast. The portions are better than Im used to while keeping quality high. Id definitely come back again. The staff and owner Suki are very nice and their food will make you and your stomach happy.

Hayashi is one of the more interesting Japanese sushi places in the area. There’s a row of booths along one side that have a built in burner for Mongolian BBQ and Shabu Shabu, which is sort of Japanese fondue. I can’t figure out why we haven’t eaten here before because we shop at the Publix next door frequently. Maybe it’s because my brother ate there one time and said it was expensive. Well, it’s not and I should know better than to listen to him because he got all the crappy DNA. The decor is very pleasant, clean to the point of being OCD and the prices are totally reasonable. It also has seats at the sushi bar which is a must for me. I had the sushi platter and my wife had a shredded beef dish which she didn’t much care for but didn’t dislike enough to send back. She didn’t blame Hayashi, there were better menu choices. Our bill came to $54, which is at least $10 less than a comparable meal at Saitos. We were in a hurry tonight so we skipped the cooking at the table but we’re definitely going back for that because who can resist live fire and the possibility of third degree burns over dinner? It’s food and entertainment and, if you’re in the neighborhood, definitely give Hayashi a shot.

Overall, a very pleasant experience. The food was fantastic. It was very fresh, flavorful, well prepared, and nicely presented. Our server was on the ball. Very proficient and polite. She knew the menu and all the ingredients in everything that we asked about. The décor was a bit plain. A a lot like every Asian/Japanese restaurant youve ever been in. I dont live very near there but if I ever am, I will definitely visit again.

My fried shrimp tempura was good (kind of hard to mess that up). The rice smells weird and tastes just the same. It was also very dry. I asked for some YumYum, plum or Duck sauce and they didnt have any. The shrimp in the rice is all chopped up (Ive never had it that way before) and there are even shells in there. I will not be coming here again. I couldnt eat the rice it smelled so "weird"! $19 not well spent

The sushi was really good, service was Blah the waitress didnt know the menu and told me I had to order two pieces of sushi to even order when the menu didnt specify. Then she messed up my food order and gave me the wrong noodles and the sushi chief had to correct her to make it again and fix it. Other than this complaint the food was really good and would go back again and hope to not get the same waitress

A hidden gem. Quiet and relaxing. Sit at the bar where the owner expertly prepares your sushi, or enjoy Japanese steakhouse fare in the main restaurant. Tempura is the best Ive had, and the service is friendly and attentive. For a treat try their bulgogee BBQ at your table. Better and more personal than any chain.

The Korean BBQ was AMAZING! I had the sliced beef which was a sweet beef that had unions and some sweet sauce all over it! Lays Korean BBQ chips made me think negatively of Korean BBQ so I made it a point to go out and try the real thing, and sure enough it was AMAZING! Cant recommend this enough 9.5/10

We went there on a Saturday night and got seated right away. It took over an hour before our sushi arrived. The owner said he was sorry and that they were shortstaffed. Normally this wouldnt make me complain but the fact that he couldnt even offer us a discount or a free dessert really upset us.

I always ask at every restaurant for a dish of lemons for my water... first time ever I was told... if its more then one we will have to charge you! If your that cheap... I dont wana try your food LOL jumping over dollars to save pennies...

They dont even know whats on their own menu. They try to charge you for food options that cost more than the ones already there. And their food will leave you feeling uneasy the next day. Avoid the tofu salad, vegetable tempura, and sushi.

Not awful, not impressive. Couple of gripes: 1. You cant get fried rice with your meal (say what?) 2. California roll doesnt come with bento box If youre in the mood for Japanese, this place is decent. Dont expect to be blown away.
