So we came here with some friends for dinner one night. I love this place. I ordered the Burnt-Ends (4R signature brisket shredded with pulled pork, smothered with signature sauce and re-smoked to perfection) Dinner with three sides (smoked jalapenos, french fries, and fried okra) and a biscuit. My girlfriend for the Pulled Pork Dinner with three sides (4R BBQ Beans, Mac & Cheese, and the Bread Pudding) and Texas Cornbread. So a couple tips. First of all, you can substitute Texas Cornbread for the biscuit when you order a dinner, and I recommend you do it. Their cornbread is to die for. Also, in case you didnt know this, the Bread Pudding here is made with Krispy Kreme donuts. I dont think I have to say anything more here. Its delicious. Its not too sweet, contrary to what youre probably imagining right now. The burnt ends is my favorite meat here. Its so smoky and tender and juicy, you dont even need the sauce on there for it to be delicious. The smoked jalapenos are always amazing. Theyre smoked with a piece of cheese in them and wrapped in bacon. My only complaint is that I only get two as a side. French fries were crinkle cut, standard. The fried okra is always hit or miss, honestly. This time, it was a hit. I loved them. Super crunchy with the okra still ok and delicious inside the breading. My girlfriends pulled pork was also delicious. I like pulled pork thats not like, too fatty. Just meat. So good. Her beans were beans, and the mac & cheese was mac & cheese. Standard stuff, but the standard is appreciated compared to when other restaurants get it wrong. So if you havent come here yet, and youre reading this, please come here. Please. Please.

Ive have tried to put this experience to rest in my mind but it is my first impression. Starting the new year my significant other and I decided to try something new. The food wasnt bad but the experience made the entire situation horrible. The restaurant was packed and the sitting is cafeteria style. Well first a rude lady told my girl she wasnt leaving and couldnt get the table. Therefore I proceed to get us sitting. That same table came available but i notice the lady next to the table slid down. I proceed to take the end of the table to share. Her husband came around the from the table that they already had and then began to indirectly talk about me. He said to her "baby they like that" I assume this is a racial statement but I ignored. After 5min he then told me he was taking the table and told me I had to move. Fortunately, I stopped myself from going off because kids were present but then was ready to leave. We tried not let this effect us and moved into a booth. However the people then would walk to the drink machine and smirk at us. The manager suggestion for us getting kicked out of a table was to call for sitting next time. I dont think ill return.

Amazing food but lets cover some bases: This restaurant is VERY casual. Picnic style seating..."howdy, neighbor", food served on trays (no plates - super green concept), etc. Down-home feel! Its fun and different!! If thats not your thing, dont come. Next, this place (like ALL the 4 Rivers locations) has a cult following. In other words, get there early...like when they OPEN...or be prepared to wait...and its a LONG line!! This place has absolutely fantastic pulled pork, texas sausage, and brisket. We love their coleslaw, beans and fried pickles. The service is friendly and we go often. We also love the story of how 4Rivers began! Most importantly: if you actually have a problem when you eat there, talk to the manager! Dont just blast them on social media and ranking sites. In our experience, they are very helpful and want you to leave happy. Give people the opportunity to address & fix their mistakes!

I havent even touched my food and Im unhappy. First off, I have never had a problem with the food here, but the service has always been subpar. Also I should say I always order take out and have been in the main area only once and didnt have a problem there. While waiting for my food to finish I over heard the girls at the register make a rude comment about another customers appearance. Though the comment wasnt about me it still made me feel upset and uncomfortable. When I asked the girl at the register about the loyalty program she rolled her eyes and avoided eye contact as she told me her spiel. My fried pickles were scattered about my bag when I got home because they were placed in on open top container and left unwrapped. Some tin foil would have kept the fries warm and safe in their container. Hope my food is good.

Unfortunately, even though I heard great reviews about 4 Rivers, I thought it was just "ok." I moved here from close to Lexington, NC where they take such great pride in BBQ. This BBQ was too salty and the sides were not fresh. I had the fried okra which was stale! and the cornbread salad which i was excited to try and it was way too sweet in a not so appetizing way. I was not impressed. My husband had raved about this place, and I was expecting some awesome BBQ...I was disappointed. The service was good, and the desert side looked amazing...but I wouldnt eat bbq here. Sorry Florida, I havent found anywhere that compares to NC bbq since i moved down besides at the food trucks at the winter park farmers market! My biggest issue here, were the sides that were not fresh.

Ive been eating BBQ for over 40 years, making smoked Brisket for 30 and this is the worst BBQ place I have ever had the displeasure of eating. McDonalds McRib as horrible as they are, has more flavor, less dry and better quality. I ordered 2 lbs of Brisket thin sliced and what I got was a crumbled mess with a couple of slices that were almost an inch thick. Anything but thin sliced. The meat had no smoke ring, no smoke flavor, was a third fat and what wasnt fat was brownish grey and tasted like overcooked pot roast. The bark what little there was tasted like artificial sweetener. This is one place I will never go back to and will never recommend to anyone. Definitely a place to stay away from.

Its like an outside family BBQ with friendly smiling staff/servers... all invited guests are smiling, looking around at other patrons plates, interested in others choices while enthusiastically enjoying their own meal. And sitting a bit away from your group is someone not afraid to answer the question youre pondering... "Your meal looks really tasty, what plate did you order?" And Lord have Mercy... John & his desert staff not only can answer EVERY question you may have, but also serve an amazing homeade desert experience that is 2x the value of any fine dining establishment around. "Two Enthusiastic Thumbs Way Up" We cant wait to go again, & again!

My son and I went on a Saturday. I had been asked what we wanted and I stated that my son wanted pulled chicken and then two seconds later, he went onto the next customer. I then had to get his attention so that I could place my order. The woman whom asked for sides had to ask multiple times and then my tray was lost somehow between the sides and the register. I then asked for a slice of cake and when asked what kind I replied the only one in the display case. That must have thrown her for a loop because I had to point it out to the cashier. I gave them a tip anyway because God knows they are going to need it. Sad, but true.
