When greeted by the waitress and ordering our drinks, we were let down to learn they dont have lemons for our water, what restaurant doesnt have lemons? Then were told they dont have queso dip, only "yellow queso". This is a Mexican restaurant right!? We decided to try it and were brought freakin nacho cheese! Then ordering my taco I was they do not have beef, only chicken and steak, What!? When I received my chicken tacos, even though I wanted beef, it was with a soft tortilla because, you guessed it, they dont have hard taco shells!! And at that, the tortilla shell was soggy and gross and all that was in the taco was chicken diced up very thin, cilantro and onion. Those 3 things, thats it! Absolutely no flavoring... Very very bland. I honestly couldnt stomach to eat it even after trying to flavor it up with the salsa left over from my chips. I told them Id like it taken off of my bill as I was not satisfied and only took one bite of it, and the owner refused. He said you order it, you pay for it. Really!? What restaurant works like that!? We went back and forth with him for a minute before he threw his hands up and said he will call the cops if we dont pay for it!! (We said we would pay for the other meals we got, just not the one we didnt eat and didnt like). He just walked away. We told the poor waitress who apologized for his behavior and the food it wasnt her fault and to please just charge us for what we ate only, as we refused to pay for that dish. She agreed and we paid and left. Apparently he didnt call the cops as we never got a call or saw them, which he should be grateful about because I was prepared to tell the cops how the female cook was drinking in the back while cooking. I will NEVER go back there again. It was not only the worst Mexican restaurant Ive ever been to, but probably the worst restaurant, period.

La Alameda has REAL Mexican tacos and great homemade salsa. If you have never had real Mexican tacos, please understand what they are and what to expect. The tortilla, thin white corn meal patties, are homemade, LIGHTLY heated, steamed, sometimes they used two together, so they are very soft. There is an exceptional choice of different meats at La Alameda but DO NOT EXPECT HAMBURGER MEAT with a packet of taco seasoning because they dont have it. The different types of meats are quite savory, home cooked, usually shredded, tender, with exceptional flavor but NO red CHILI Pepper seasoning in it or other typical TEX MEX seasonings. They are totally different from TEX MEX tacos. Do NOT think taco bell. On the meat will be some cilantro and onion, that is ALL. With the tacos they serve four salsas including green sauce, HOT sauce, avocado sauce and some kind of roast tomato/pepper not hot sauce. The other three sauces have some heat and the hot sauce is HOT. Ive had hotter but its up there. They also have many other choices of traditional Mexican dinners including mole sauce but I like the tacos so well I havent tried them. Do not expect to hear nothing but English because most of the patrons will be speaking Spanish. This is what I look for when I go to a new Mexican restaurant - one that has "home cooking". My friend likes the tacos really well but is enamored of Ortega bottled taco sauce so we took a small plastic container of his favorite sauce. So if you HAVE to have some gringo accompaniment, bring it yourself, dont expect them to provide it. If you want lettuce and tomato and shredded cheese on your tacos, ask for it. I honestly dont know if they have all three but "Two Out of Three Aint Bad" (with apologies to Meatloaf) Well worth a few miles if youve never had real Mexican tacos in particular.

First time I have ever been to a Mexican restaurant that did not have guacamole. They have something they call guacamole, but the only resemblance it has is the color - and thats way off too. It looked more like lime green flavored mush that had the consistency of a slushy, flavor of water, and spicy hot kick of a jalapeno. The chips and salsa are $2, not free like many other Mexican places. The salsa tasted like it came out of a jar. Nothing had any flavor except our drinks. Spices are not there to replace seasoning! Everything was super spicy, yet somehow remained flavorless. There were eight full tables in there when we went, and one waitress... She was doing a great job but had to keep a continuous jog the entire time. It took about twenty minutes to get the food after we ordered. The place was relatively clean, as were the bathrooms. I will not return. Also the sign on the door says they close at 9pm, but they close at 8.

First time ever going to this ppace and waited 45 minutes for our food. Which they did let us know and we chose to stay but we didnt even receive all of our food so I asked them to take it off our bill. They gave us a compliment pineapple cake... Got home.. It expired four days ago. I called to let them know and the lady on the phone said oh ok we didnt know. Thanks for giving us a heads up. Um there is a sticker right on the top. The chips and salsa you have to pay for and the salsa is the same quality you get out of a jar from the grocery store. Which we also had to wait for because they ran out of chips. Never got refills on our drinks and we had to tell the waitress half way through our meal they forgot the sides because it was a drop the food off and walk away kind if service. Not going to go back.

This was our first time here after our friends told us about it and we will not be returning. It is not very vegetarian friendly. We ordered 4 meals and one meal my mother in law took one bite and did not like at all so we asked if they would substitute it out for something else and the manager said, Joanna, once the food is served there is nothing they can do about it. First of all the salsa they provided was exactly the same salsa I eat at home with chips (Pace Picante) and the chips were very similar so looks like that was store bought as well. We asked for queso as an appetizer and the waitress said we dont have queso but then corrected herself and said they did have queso but it was the same queso you get at the movie theatres so of of course why would the salsa be different (store bought)

A little bewildered. The food was either absolutely wonderful or not good at all. The cheese was movie theater nacho cheese. Know what shes on the menu as we normally get a Mexican restaurants. The fajitas were absolutely wonderful and cook perfectly. The sauce it was canned like you would buy and a grocery store very generic. However the green sauce it was homemade. I would definitely go back here again if I knew what to order the portions were generous and the service was good however it was a little slow. The cheese really sucks. Note 2 owners lose the El Paso can salsa and make your own and throw that cheese is far out the back as you can and never serve it again its really cheesy!
