Cant handle it when busy...very poor customer service after an hour waiting appetizer was never brought out when waiter asked states there are a lot of tickets in the back it will be awhile. Then he tries to pacify situation & bring out plantain chips along with the manger she could not find the correct words or justification other than its very busy your dish is freshly made "bull" yellow rice and veggie dish I decide forget it we r leaving . Best part she gets upset and states in her broken english "Always The Latinos" as I walked out she continues mouthing any insult to justify there poor customer service and her lack of management skills. Food is not that great where over an hour wait should take place & then the disrespect from a manger. Will never recommend this place better places to eat in Mt Dora.

This is a fairly new restaurant and when they first opened the food was awesome. Unfortunately quality of food seems to be going downhill along with the service. Our server never offered bread, I had to ask if they were still serving bread prior to the meal before she brought some out. Then someone else brought our food out to us, our server came by about 5 min afterwards to ask if everything was OK before she disappeared for over 45 min while we sat and waited to ask for boxes and our check. I had to ask one of the other servers to please find our server in order to get our check so we could leave! And while it was a lil busy I noticed another server serve not one but two nearby tables in a timely matter, but this was not the case for us.

Sat outside no one came for about 10 minutes, so then I went inside and told the hostess I was had been sitting outside and asked for a menu. She said she would send the waitress out. So I sat out waiting and waiting again.Had to go back inside and ask the hostess where the waitress was. I went back outside and sat again for another 10 minutes. Finally the waitress came and took my order.Once I ordered it it didnt take that long and the steak sandwich was very good. I ate and was ready to go and again no waitress disappeared . I guess they must not care or read the reviews that their service is really lacking because if you own a restaurant you should take notice or you will lose customers and we will not refer anyone to you.

From the moment we got our drinks our waiter was just very serious and ran away from us every chance he got. My water tasted like faucet water so I asked him for lime on two occasions cause he "kept forgetting" then our kids food arrived my daughters burger was dry, my sons sandwich was okay but the meat was very dry. I felt as if he just forgot us cause we didnt get our food for another almost 20 minutes! Our waitress would walk by us and would ignore us completely knowing we were looking right at him waiting for our food. When it was time to pay the check it took him another 15 minutes just to get that to us. Honestly very disappointed cause this place has had such good reviews. Will not be coming back.

Went there for lunch with my husband. We found it quite disappointing. It took about 1/2 hr before we received our food and we didnt order a big platter. Simple plantain chips appetizer, steak & pork sandwich. Our waiter was not attentive to us. So we asked another waitress about our order. Turns out, the order was never submitted. Appetizer arrived with the food and there was very little taste to it all. While we were still eating the appetizer the waiter grabbed the basket to take it away. I was not impressed with the service, the food presentation was not what I expected. Workers have their kids running around. Not an environment wed return to.

We had to ask for menus because the staff was chatting at the bar ignoring patrons. The waitress finally came to out table and said that the 2 for 1 drinks were being combined in a glass but what she brought was a regular size drink (weve been to the restaurant before). Never was asked if the food was ok nor if we wanted anything else. We had to ask another staff member for our check. Our waitress knew we were waiting but was too busy talking to friends. Our bill reflected an automatic 20% gratuity. We told her she didnt deserve any tip and asked to see the manager. He gave us our tip $ back and said, "never come back here." No problem!!

This is apparently the Mount Dora outpost of a restaurant with another location in Sebastian. This was our first visit. I had the shrimp creole with yellow rice, which was more brown than yellow. My wife had the mofongo, which she enjoyed. Shes been advised by a Puerto Rican friend that the mofongo here is actually good. The one complaint I have is the sound level. It was the LOUDEST place Ive been in a long time. The people dining were loud and the environment was loud. Otherwise it is a pleasant place for a meal featuring Cuban, Puerto Rican, and Spanish foods. Next time I might try to paella.

Dog friendly sidewalk cafe (with power outlets) great Great Cuban / Carribean style food & M-F lunch specials + excellent coffee and service. Professional respectful and courteous staff. Dog was given water & I was never more than a few minutes without the attention of the staff. Highly recommend. Had the Bistec Carne cuban flap steak, red beans rice and a fried plantain for the lunch special (10.00) as well as some very good quality cuban coffee (2.50) and they added some caramel and whipped cream at no charge. Very hospitable. Great atmosphere in a quaint town.

My Girlfriend and I ate here for the first time the other day and will not be coming back again. We ordered fried banana chips or whatever it was and half way through we find a dead roach in our food! We didnt throw a fit about it and let the waiter know and he took it away and the manager comes out letting us know its a clean restaurant and so on. She offered us a free dessert as compensation. Thats all! The waiter took it into his hands to removed the appetizer from our check and the drinks. The food its self is blan but ok. I wont trust the cleanliness though
