Very unprofessional restaurant! Do NOT go! Once we enter the restaurant, they took us to a table were 3 people were sitting. The 3rd person comes out of the restroom and tells the waiter she wanted our seats. She didnt want the corner side and wanted her family to sit together. She leaves the table with her 2 older teenagers. The “manager” comes and tells us to move to her seats. Remind you the waiter sat us there. We tell him we are not moving and switching seats. What’s the big deal?! He replies then I’m not serving you. You can leave. All because this trashy lady didn’t want to sit on the corner. I’ve never seen a restaurant want to play musical chairs and tell us to leave after they sat us there. Don’t waste your money!! Go to Kobe’s if you are looking for excellent service! This place is trash!

TO EXPENSIVE FOR THE QUALITY OF FOOD!!! How this place gets 3 or more stars is beyond me. I was not very impressed especially given the reviews. Very misleading. It makes me wonder. The service wasnt great either. Our childrens food was brought out five mins before ours was brought out. I definitely dont feel it was worth $90 for a family of 4 (thats Kobe prices and it was no Kobe not even close not even the white sauce).. I ordered filet mignon. Let me tell you that was no filet mignon. It was not tender nor the taste of a fliet mignon. It tasted cheap. I would not recommend this restaurant. Im very disappointed that we spent $90 with the food not being good.

They have poor service, they are cheating their customer and over charging on their bill. If you get invited to a party for dinner and you bring your owned family and you get a sprad check, they will ad you 18% tips onto your bill. Its not right because if your party is less then 5 why should we have to pay 18% tips, when we didnt get dinner service until 45 mins later and they took to long for everything. And the manager thought its was funny to charge that and make fun of the customer. Very poor service and he over charging people and get away with it. Please report him to IRS.. If you eat there, please check your bill.

Once you get over the idea that is hasnt been cleaned for maybe a month or two its really a great place to eat. Authentic - No - Fun - YES. We have made friends over dinner with people we still call up to meet to eat when we are in town. The food is pretty good and you are sure it gets cooked the way you like it. Lots of variey, reasonable prices and entertainment too ! What more can you ask for. Just dont delude yourself into expecting fine Japanese dining. Its sort of like the McDonalds or SubWay version of Eastern dining. All in all - its a MUST DO IT when visitng Mount Dora or neighboring vacinity.

New owners! Food is not the same as before.... my family has been traveling 30-40 minutes to eat here for over 20 years and when the last owners left I feared a negative change and sure enough, the rice isnt cooked the same and the filet mingeon is not a quality piece of meat anymore! I now drive a couple of miles farther on the same road for a new restaurant that one of thier old employees opened up! I wish they would have taken the time to teach the new cooks how to prepare the menu! Sad...

We went to Lampu on accident one day in 2005 and havent stopped going since! The service is good, the food is wonderful! Bring your family to the center of the hibachi action as your chef opens the table ceremonously with his cooking utensils. Enjoy the saki, or a local draft beer. This is a great famiily dining experience - or, like us, a romantic night for two. Lampu has several cozy booths, or enclaves where just two people can enjoy the sights, smells and sounds. See you there!

Waited for them to fill the table before they started cooking. The people we were seated with had been there over an hour before we arrived. I was told they had great foodand everyone enjoys going there. However, we still waited a good 35 minutes before were even given our salads. Kikus Japanese Restaurant has better food choices, a better salad, and gives you more to eat. Not impressed at all!

Ive been going to Lampu for years and years and its almost always amazing. If you eat in, and I recommend you do at least once, the wait times can be long while they try to fill a table. That aside I have never been disappointed in the food. I miss the soup with the to go order and the size has dwindled a bit but still a great value especially for lunch.

Amazing food, price & atmosphere. The only complaint Ive ever had was about a certain chef who decided to mutilate my wifes steak one night (pieces were cut uneven, 3 or 4 big chunks and what looked to be minced steak) but other than that you cant really complain. $10 for a meal that last two days is amazing.

I have been going to Lampu for 17 years. We love it, and it can be slow, if you want the show, or choose a booth and get served much quicker! The white sauce is awesome, and my daughter LOVES their sushi~ Always fresh and cold, and tasty. Highly recommended!

Great food runs through you faster than a Mexican burrito. I had the runs before I even left the table! I destroyed my pants and my shirt and I had to leave awkwardly after that. Great food would go again but sit next to the bathroom
