Had a really bad experience at this place. I had a reservation for 9pm and got to the restaurant on time, but found a large group of people around the hostess and everything just seemed very disorganized. It was only about 9:15 when I finally was able to check in and was told it would be a 20 minute wait for a table. Not really what I expected. Most people in the chaotic mass also had reservations and I found that some people had been waiting for 40+ minutes (with a reservation). I still talked to the manager to express my disappointment but she wasnt very interested. She acknowledged that they were overbooked but couldnt offer any reasonable apology. I ended up leaving feeling quite disrespected. And judging by other reviews Ive found, this wasnt the first time it happens at this restaurant. Going out to eat should be a nice experience overall. And your business should be appreciated if youre spending this amount of money for a meal. Not the case at Prime Italian. There are plenty of good restaurants in Miami where customers are well treated.

If you answer yes to more than 2 of the next questions this restaurant is for you: Do you wear Affliction/Ed Hardy all day everyday? Do you rent an exotic sports car to drive on Ocean Drive which costs more than the hotel room you are staying in? Do you want to take out a girl for dinner that is 20+ years less in age than you? If so, this is the restaurant for you. Full of the most fake and unimpressive group of people. The only place that has more d-bags is in the "feminine products" aisle of WalMart. Food is average. Decor is beautiful. People are fake. Staff acts like they are doing you a favor. Oh, and one more thing, THE AC WAS OFF THE WHOLE TIME. Why do they have a wood fire grill with the AC OFF? The guy next to me in a suit was dripping sweat and about to pass out. What a shame. Read the reviews, cant enjoy a meal when the 96 degree Miami weather outside is cooler than the restaurant inside. Either way, enjoy paying $17 for a small SIDE of pasta. First time = LAST TIME!

Waiting 2.5 hours past your reservation that you show up for on time, is definitely not worth the mediocre food. The food is good, but not something magical that justifies the rude managers, and who have zero ability to predict and control seating. The bar is tiny, so why keep YELLING at patrons to go wait at the bar which doesnt have room and anyhow over priced is beyond me. According to other reviews seems they enjoy having angry customers, or they would block the number of reservations to prevent this... Oh and I dont really appreciate the staff grabbing my knife from the side of my plate and then asking if Im done with my food. Especially when Im not done with my food. As a Miami beach resident, wouldnt go back ... There are other restaurants in the area with good food AND respect for customers. And out of the three Prime restaurants (prime fish, prime 112), this is the least organized and Im surprised has lasted this long.

We visited Prime Italian last night at 7:30 pm. A staff of at least four took care of our every need. We never felt rushed or like they were bothering us. They started the meal with garlic bread and a red dipping sauce that was to die for. I mean I could have just eaten 2 of those and gone home to bed. We had the poke appetizer and it was excellent. Priced at $55 it seemed high but, it is Miami. We started with the Ceaser salad which was huge. Enough to serve 5 at least. I had the Kobe lasagna and my husband did the snapper. Everything was amazing. We also ordered their black and blue martini which was prepared to our liking. Big stuffed olives and just the right amount of dirty. Overall our dining experience was very good and we would come back. Our final bill was $245 before gratuity. Being from Tampa this is a little higher than prices there but, probably in line with a 4 star Miami dining establishment.

I cant tell you in words how fantastic this place is. Dont let the cost hold you back. Party of 5 with drinks was a little over $400 but it saved us a trip to NYC. We ate there with friends from NY and they agreed, it was up there on the list of amazing Italian places. We had a 1 pound meatball as an appetizer and it was so amazing. The sauce was homestyle, it did not have the restaraunt thrown together taste. They brought out bread. Holy cow! There was melted cheese inside or something...maybe crack cause we had them bring us probably 5 rolls throughout the meal. Without going into details about each dish, I will sumarize by saying all 5 of us were impressed with the meal, 3 of us having been born in Brooklyn. I NEVER eat at pricey places (not this pricey) but I would certainly splurge on this place again for an occassion. At the very least, do yourself a favor and try it.

After reading the reviews I was getting into my "get ready to school these peeps if they give u any tude".... But I was pleasantly surprised when we were seated expediently and where we wanted. (disclaimer: it was a stormy Sunday night...so take that with a grain of salt.)----dinner was good. The giant meatball in buffalo ricotta was a hit. My wifes filet was properly cooked and tasty. My snapper with crab was also perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The Brussel sprouts were overcooked, mushy and too salty. Portions were indeed larger...very large. ---- prices were ridiculous...probably 20-30% too high...but at least the food was good and the service knowledgable and attentive. Good bachelorette/bachelor party location. Nice place to check out...but I would not be a regular here of I lived in Miami.

As a restaurant/hospitality industry professional I rarely write reviews online. However the impeccable food and service at Prime Italian made me change my mind. A fellow industry professional and I decided to eat there while in Miami and we were beyond pleased from start to finish! The beautiful decor, al fresco dining, and palatable menu made it an easy choice when deciding where to eat. The entire staff was kind, courteous and attentive, the garlic bread was southern yet authentic, and the special branzino was everything I could ask for! Our server was top notch; knowledgeable with an eye for hospitality, making sure we were taken care of at every point in our dining experience! I will definitely return and recommend to friends and colleagues! Thanks!

It has been ages since I saw such rudeness and apathy in any business. I called before getting down from the car, a lady Kathy said the wait would be at the most 20 minutes. I paid $40 for the valet to take the car and then we waited over 90 minutes and just left. When I left my name on the list for the four of us, the hostess said 45 minutes, when before paying the valet and in order to induce us to get in they said 20. After 45 minutes, they kept saying 20 more minutes. I will never ever step in this joke of a restaurant again. While waiting, the waiters and hostess were pushing people around like in a wrestle ring. Myles Chefetz I hope you pay attention to reviews because eventually people will stop wanting to get abused.
