I had high hopes for this place and was excited to have an Indian place open up so close to my school. Upon arrival the restaurants name threw us off because it was a white table cloth setting in a narrow restaurant layout with a section of white leather sofas on an elevated floor. When you read "cafe" you expect something a bit less formal, but nonetheless eager to try the food. Upon the waiters arrival, I spoke the Indian language-Hindi to order and the waiter was 1. extremely awkward and 2. taken aback that I spoke the language and distracted by that so then 3. unattentive. I asked what came with the Tandoor and he said nothing. (Even though it was served with rice) To start I ordered the Papdi chaat and asked for it to come out first- it was a complete disappointment...a measly portion of canned garbanzo beans with a spoon of watery yogurt, tamarind sauce and some cracker looking papdi ($8). They seasoned it super spicy- and I eat spicy all the time I can take it- but this particular dish is not meant to be spicy, and it was not tasty at all. It tasted like garam masala instead of chat masala. The owner noticed that we didnt eat it and he came by and asked if it is good. I gave him an honest opinion and said no we dont think so. He made some small talk and removed it from the table and said "next time ask me to make it the way you like it"-um what? The way I like it is the way its meant to be eaten. The way he served it was like eating pizza with no sauce and no cheese but instead ketchup and chopped up hotdogs. Sure its still "pizza" but its a cheap rendition of the dish. For our main dish I ordered from the Tandoor menu-Chicken Tikka, the boneless one (14). What we got tasted more like chicken fajitas. I mean it was so bland it reminded me of dennys chicken fajitas. On top of that we ordered a yogurt sauce to come out with it and nothing came out, when we asked for a sauce the owner said "oh we serve rice with the tandoor chicken." At this point I was over it and asked for the bill ($26 total). HE CHARGED US FOR THE CHAAT THAT HE REMOVED FROM THE TABLE! CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. From one lover of Indian food to another- AVOID THIS PLACE. It was a waste of money and not even a pleasant dining experience.

ent to this place while holidaying in Miami. "Awful food" summarizes my experience over there. - Went for a lunch buffet. I am vegetarian and my review is for the vegetarian food. - It has one of the laughable and pathetic lunch buffets I had in my life. Just by looking at the buffet entree, you can make sense of how tasteless and stale it is. It felt like some amateur cook is at the helm of things. - $11 for a buffet. Its worth $4. I am saying it because I have had really nice $11-$12 buffets in CA, which is one of the place with high cost of living. - I had to order a separate "mix veg korma" other than the buffet to satiate my lunch appetite. It was just okay and gave me an Indian kadhi kind of taste, which is tangy in taste. - Further I asked waiter for green chillies and lemon ( which is generally available as part of buffet elsewhere). He said it would be charged extra. Oh man.... are you for real ? - Naan provided with buffet were half cooked. It required another round of cooling to make it a cooked one. Bad experience. Vegeterian Lunch buffet not recommended.

This is the worst Indian buffet so far I have been to. Buffet cost you $11 plus taxes, but I can guarantee you wont be able to eat any food from the buffet. All foods were super salty and previously cooked (may be 2-3 days old). Chicken smells so bad, you probably puke. The restaurant seems empty most of the times, so the owner reuse old foods. They had one item call "Palak paneer", and you can use your luck to buy lotto if you find any Panner in that item. I came into the restaurant hungry and left hungry. Such a waste of money.

Over priced! Paid and later the charges were more than the bill signed for. When I checked my bank account I was charged an additional $20 on tip, that I didnt approved. My original tip was for $30 and I was charged a total of $50 on tip without my consent . Check your bill before you leave! Unfortunate...

Very pleasant little Indian restaurant with very pleasant food. It is a small place, and when I went it was packed without room for the several groups that came by. I was fortunate to have the only open table when I arrived. But I will be eating there again.

If you are looking for a quaint, friendly, and authentic place Punjab Cafe is it! Food is as authentic as you will likely get in Miami, and at a reasonable price (which is rare in this area). Chai is great as well.

The food is delicious and how often do you get personal service from the owner/chef. This guy has been serving Indian for in Miami for many years and his food shows it. We will be back!

A nice and quiet place. Has a good selection of north Indian cuisine. The owner is a nice guy and the chef himself. I liked the saag paneer and chili garlic naan.
