Food is imply authentic! If you were to land at Orlando, Florida and you have your parents along with you,. then this place will be the best to stop by have food and same thing while you are departing from Orlando, Florida,. simply great. Well maintained and hygiene eatery tables and utensils,.. Great Vegetarian place,... Proper Mangalore/Udupi/Mysore/Bangalore overall Karnataka state style food,. I have been in US for almost 4 years and I have seen my own friends speaking about several places like Andhra style restaurant, Madras style restaurant across US at SFO, Connecticut, Dallas, Chicago, New Jersey and etc nothing stands up to run a restaurant like this one,. I strongly believe that for running successful restaurant you need a passionate person to run and manage same as if hes going to have his family eat everyday there,.. Hand made masala, properly seasoned dosa batter,. super soft idles,. proper complimenting sambar (not the one that we find the ones with drumsticks and all vegetables sambar that other restaurants serve, in Woodlands you get proper Dosa sambar and fresh tender coconut green Chutney) this place rocks,.. Feedback: - Restaurant should manage to have more tables and effectively manage crowd,.. trust me a lot of people turn up here as food is good,.. My word to any future visitor here: - Please call the restaurant before you go !

One of the few places you get "south" Indian food in Florida. Or else all over you have standard north Indian items repeated sickeningly all over the region leaving no room for any creativity. We drove 14 miles one way from Fort Lauderdale just to get dosa. The place is very spacious, medium seating and is a little old. In a quiet place with shops. Gobi manchurian was soaked in tomato ketchup and almost dripping with sauce. They clearly dont know how to make gobi Manchurian. We got a nice crispy set of dosas extending both side of the plate. Smelt nice but when we tasted it the batter needed maybe another 4 hours of fermenting. Generous amount of onions and masala. Florida with so many coconut trees but coconut chutney tasted like it was made from frozen coconut powder. Tomato chutney was a disaster. Tasted identical to tomato soup. We thought they used left over tomato soup from afternoon for tomato chutney. Dosa could have been better with less oil as it left a bad oily after taste in the tongue. Left with a realization that another 50 years and you will never have Indian food in USA tasting like in India. Why ?! Question mark remains.

Great south Indian vegetarian food. friendly service. Price is right. Dosas are excellent. Nice and spicy food. high quality fried food. Service could be better. The waiters are more interested in cell phones than the customers. I have updated this review. The food has become terrible and totally soulless. The kitchen staff seems could not care less for the quality of food. We had Pani poori which had holes in it and the liquid and fillings which were supposed to go inside leaked because of the holes. When asked to bring back new pooris, again they brought back pooris with holes. Shows an utter lack of care. The food tray was served very carelessly. Things were soggy when it was supposed to be crispy. The cheese spring dosa seems like a great idea in the picture. It was the worst dosa I have tasted in 30 years. It was filled up with lots of uncooked onion and was terrible. The Sambar was very poorly spiced with an overwhelming taste of pepper. I grew up with south indian food. The chef has no respect for Indian cuisine and does not know the meaning of spice. Sadly, I will not go to this place again.

I am really sad to say that my favorite restaurant for the last few years, has suddenly become my least favorite. Early in 2011, the restaurant changed ownership, and nothing is the same. All of the regulary staff has left (aside from one, very kind gentleman who straightens up tables, etc), and the recipes have changed. The service was really poor the last time my family visited, having asked for napkins 6 times, never receiving them until the time our bill was delivered. We ordered a dish with gravy, and were given the dry version of the dish. Our favorite dishes were simply average. The only thing we thought was better was the bhatura. I am sad to say that we probably will not visit Woodlands again. We are greatly disappointed.

Woodlands is GOOD but its not GREAT. I honestly dont know how anybody can compare it to a NY, London, SF, Toronto...restaurant. I dont blame the owners, its questionable as to whether that type of restaurant can be supported in South Florida. The dosas - good. The Sambar - ok. The veggies - hit and miss, but definitely edible. The paratha, decent...the "milkshake" - cute. After living in South Florida for two months and being utterly disgusted with the Indian food, Woodlands is a place I would go to again to get my fix. I think this is a good restaurant, which if they used more sophisticated ingredients, better veggies, etc. could actually be a GREAT restaurant. All in all, I recommend, you wont be disappointed.

Grossed out! Synopses: Ordered vada, dosa, gobi manchurian, and halwa ice cream Vada - undercooked, the dough was still wet! Sent it back and got new ones. Gobi manchurian - definitely left over from earlier in the day - it was hard as a rock Halwa ice cream - had a hair in it! Without asking us, the staff gave us another bowl of the ice cream. We were served the ice cream and we said we did not want it then we were blamed for asking for it? Nice way to treat people who ate undercooked/hairy food who were trying to keep the mishaps on the down-low for their sake. Overall the food did not taste that great an apparently not sanitary either.

The service is bad. They did not clean the table when I finished eating. They did not come asking if everything was ok. Did not serve water I had to do it. They also did not pack the take out they brought the boxes and I had to do it!!!!!!! The food was not good. The basmati rice did not smell basmati. The vegetable korma had no taste ( they did not add the right amounts of spices). The fire naan bread does not taste naan at all and it cost a whopping 3 bucks ! Awful food and service. Dont recommend. I was born and raised on the west. Had tried wonderful Indian Restos but this one is indeed bad and pricy

Yesterday nite, we went to this woodlands restaurant, and believe me, I never go to vegetarian restuarants. But this was unique, this was the best food that I ate in US for the past 3 years, The idly manchuria, the dosas,,,the alu curry,,,the gulabjamuns,,the halwa,,,everything was authentic,,the best,,the prices were rite. I bet you, everyone would love the food here. It seems like the chef was kidnapped when he was working at a restaurant in India, and was blindfolded,,and dropped here in teh kitchen,,he dint forget a single masala in the sambhar...love this food,,,thnx,,for reading,,,

I was here 2 years ago and the food was kind of bland, the workers looked sad and in a trance. I returned a week ago and the food was excellent and service was attentive. I heard they are under new management. Ive been to many Indian restaurants in South Florida and this is by far the best, at least for the buffet, in terms of tasty vegetarian options. I think meat eaters would still like it. Little India on Oakland Park Blvd has some tasty vegetarian dishes but they are too buttery and saucy for my taste. Similar to other Indian restaurants, they are closed on monday.
