Being BBQ judges we tend to stay away from BBQ joints but we thought wed try this place out. However, we did not order BBQ so we cannot speak on the BBQ. We started with the sampler platter which had a ton of food for a very reasonable price. It came out quickly but was not as hot as I thought it should be. They more than made up for that with the sandwiches that we ordered. They came out HOT and fresh. I ordered the Philly and my husband got the mushroom jack. We both really enjoyed them. The portions were good and prices were also reasonable. Our waitress Linda was great. She was funny and friendly. Overall this was a great lunch!

All good - ate there after a hiking excursion with a group of 15 and everyone enjoyed it. We arrived about 4:30 on a Sat, so service was prompt since there were only a few other patrons. BBQ was excellent, good portions and reasonably priced. Full menu from appetisiers, burgers and sandwiches, dinner combos, and a garbage can lid for four. The wild game trophies on the wall give it character; unlike a chain restaurant, plus the gorgeous waitresses wearing tees that say "Nice Rack" and such (kinda cute, I think)

We were traveling west on I 10 and started getting hungry. Trying to find something that wasnt a chain restaurant and found Big Wood BBQ and Grill. It was absolutely wonderful. My husband was intrigued by all of the Wildlife Mounts. Everyone there was so nice, but we had the sweetest waitress ever. When we left at 3:45, we noticed that they were suppose to close at 3:00, but they never rushed us at all. If you are ever in or around Live Oak, FL, you should stop in...you wont regret it.

Excellent food! Excellent service! Incredible experience! A little known secret about Big Wood BBQ is the pulled pork wrap they have. You have to ask for it. I call it a Carolina Wrap because it has slow-cooked, pulled pork, Big Wood Mild BBQ sauce, and delicious homemade coleslaw. Meal complete! I am definitely a repeat customer.

The ribs and sausage were awesome! Loved the sauces. The waitress was great and let us know about the special of the day when we sat down. Bathroom was exceptionally clean. I was very impressed with the whole restaurant and staff. A great BBQ experience. Hope to go back soon. Best BBQ south of the Ga state line!

Loved the NY Strip and baked potato! Delicious! My husband loved the ribs and sliced pork. The atmosphere is rustic and clean. Will definitely come back! The only thing I didnt care for was the corn on the cob. A bit soggy for my taste. Everything else was perfect! Our waitress, Emily, was wonderful as well!!!

Beautiful building, super clean, seated quickly, served quickly, cold.. I mean ice cold beer, super hit fresh food which was served extremely quickly! Server was sweet and helpful. We will definitely definitely be back! If you are driving through stop, if you want to take a drive come here!

The food tasted very good but on a Saturday for lunch they were very busy and sooo slow. It took an hour and a half to get served. So we just tasted, boxed and got out of there. I would go again if it was not busy or I had half a day to waste. BBQ to me is fast serve not slow wait.

Great smokes. Like you know who, they got the meats. They only get four stars cause they were casual & simple. Nice bar, top of selection of spirits. Nice BBQ sauces. Come up with a signature sauce might get that last star. Im a plate cleaner. So dont hesitate to stop in, Yum!

Id like to tell you it was great but after driving an hour and a half arriving at 258 we were told they were closed. The advertised closing time for Sunday is 4 but they have decided to change that to 3 and not update any of their online advertising.

The atmosphere here is everything—there are more than 20 stuffed dear heads mounted high on the walls as well as a number of other taxidermied animals. The BBQ is alright, but its not true Texas flavor. Its a little bland. The sauce is not spicy.

The food and service has become so much better since it was Big Daddys. I love their feast platter, it comes served on a large metal lid and is my go to for date night meals. This is my favorite place to share meals with family as well.

Food was spectacular and fairly priced. App, 3 meals, 1 salad bar, 2 beers and a cocktail for under $60. Friendly staff, clean and rustic interior. Definitely a winner! Better than Sonnys but not as many sauces. Still worth it!

Excellent food and friendly service. Halfway home from a two hour trip, we took a high school wrestling team and parents here to eat... with no advance reservation. They handled the sudden arrival of our big party like pros.

Service is good but the food is below average. Salad bar is mediocre. Baked potato was not warm at all. Corn was the same. Chicken had no taste and very bland. Place looks clean and well kept. BBQ sauces were good.

Stopped while traveling based on reviews I read, although it wasnt great, it was better than quick stop alternatives along the way. Ribs were chewy and tough, chicken was better but dry.

Good folks at the bar,portion size of everything was good,but no favor in the food. Great BBQ needs no sauce, that needed more than sauce. The salad bar was substandard.
