Probably the best place to eat in Live Oak. Its nice to have a place in town where you feel like you need to dress up to eat. Even though the food is great It was much better when they first opened. Thats why its 4 stars instead of 5. Its the only place in Live Oak I recommend anyone to eat. Staff are always friendly but half the time the wait staff doesnt know the specials or ingredients in meals. Compared to the same type of restaurants in larger cities where the wait staff know the meals and specials like the back of their hand. Always an enjoyable experience every time we come. My wife and I try to do a date night here once a month.

Best eating spot in town! Not only is the ambience great, but the food is absolutely top notch. The restaurant is located in the old "Doweling House," a wonderful columned southern mansion that was owned by one the towns original founders. Order anything on the menu, its all superb. My favorite is the filet mignon for $19. Yup, thats no typo. Make sure to say "hi" to the owner, Don. Hell be greeting in the foyer, so you cant miss him. Enjoy.

We had a lovely evening with friends at this relatively new restaurant. It is good to see the Dowling House rejuvinated. The decor is tasteful with white linen tablecloths, and soft music added to the ambiance. The menu is diverse and priced reasonably. Our group of six had different entrees and everyone raved about what they ordered. We will happily return.

Family ordered the New York Strip, Portabella Capriese, and the Grouper Sandwich. While the wait time was lengthy, the food came out hot, fresh, and flavorful. Our waiter, Jeffrey, was the greatest! He kept an eye on our table, as well as all of those around us! Jeffrey made the experience more pleasurable! Will be returning!

Executive Chef/Owner on site from open to close. New South cuisine at its finest. Large selection of seafood, with excellent chicken, pork, beef offerings. Do yourself a favor, if you dont get the crab cakes for dinner at least get the crab cake appetizer. Excellent!

Great good! I had filet mignon that my husband had bronzed grouper! Both were excellent. The temperature in the restaurant was on the warm side. There was a good wine selection but we prefer our red wine served below room temperature and in the correct glass.

Absolutely fantastic experience for lunch. Crab bisque is NOT to be missed! Large lumps of crab and very flavorful. We had bronzed grouper & pork tenderloin and cannot find a fault with anything. If you are in Live Oak you must stop!!

Amazing food & incredible hostess. Went for lunch and had one of the best crab bisque Ive ever had ... loads of crab meat. Fish tacos with grouper was fantastic and the bread pudding for desert was the piece de resistance.
