Im a big fan of Mexican food - and there are absolutely no problems with the food. In fact, it was fantastic. Unfortunately, every time I went there, it took over 30-40 minutes to get my delicious food. Worse, if there was anyone ordering ahead of you at the counter, the wait could be anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes. It was obvious that the place was severely understaffed. Of the first five or six times we visited (before I lost patience) we only saw one person working the restaurant and clearly that person was not only taking orders & serving customers - they were also cooking the food. On the final occasion there WAS a second person working, but it did not seem to speed things up much, if at all. In the end, my liking for the food was outweighed by the slow service, and every time anyone suggested we go back I declined on those grounds. Clearly this was an amateur operation, run by people with more enthusiasm for the food than experience in the restaurant industry. Hopefully learn how to run a restaurant soon. I would gladly give them another shot if there was some assurance I wouldnt be stuck waiting for an hour to eat as my blood sugar and patience run low. One final note - the sauces they served with their food were tasty, but for some unfathomable reason they only served them to the customers a teaspoon at a time. Perhaps this is traditional, I am not sure, but over the years I have become accustomed to the convenience of large bottles of sauce on the table, or even a salsa bar, and the miserly presentation was offputting, especially considering the deficiencies previously noted in service - long waits for additional sauce were another problem. EDIT: After posting this I decided to give them another shot. As a result I have upped my rating to 3 stars - "its okay". I saw 4 people working the back of the house last night. Additionally, there was a lady at the counter, and another lady hanging decorations. The service was friendly, but still abominably slow and inattentive...The gentleman who delivered our food had clearly marinated in cologne which is extremely unprofessional for any restauranteur, and particularly unacceptable for one who is delivering food. On the positive side, the Tacos El Pastor were served hot and they were delicious, the portions were generous (I only ate two of the three I was served), and the sauces were in slightly bigger containers. On request we were served with one each of red (habanero) and green (tomatillo). The food actually seems to have improved from an already excellent start. Further, the wait was only 20 minutes from time of order to being served said delicious tacos. Though the restaurant was completely empty aside from a family who had already been served their food, that is a positive change. Ill be returning again! (and my taste buds will thank me)

We found this quiet little place in our never ending quest for authentic Mexican food. Chicano has fun Mexican kitsch decor and very good Mexican food both in one location. What a nice surprise! The interior is clean and decorated with colorful paper flowers and zig-zags of bright paper squares hanging from the ceiling. It looks like a fiesta in progress. The people are very friendly and helpful. If you have any questions about the menu, they are more than happy to help you. The menu isnt extensive, but there is certainly an adequate selection of traditional choices of burritos, tacos, etc. If you cant find exactly what you want, theyll adjust the choice for you. I couldnt decide between two burritos, so they made me one that was a combination of ingredients. It was big and yummy! Since this was an "adventure" trip to a new place, I decided to try something Id never had before. Ive seen "horchata" on Mexican menus for as long as I can remember, but the idea of "rice milk" was never very appealing. I was SOOO wrong! This cold drink had just the right amount of body and was perfectly spiced. It kinda made me think of Indian kheer but with the rice more blended. It was perfect with the meal and I have a new love to have at Mexican restaurants! All in all, it was a great experience and well be going back.......probably more than we should. It wasnt nice of them to put this just on our way home from the gym, it kinda cancels out all the work I did, LOL.

Food: The vegetable filling and black beans were the best part of the meal, but both were very salty. The lettuce, pico de Gallo and hot sauces were average. The rice was a bit mushy, but had good seasoning. The chips were stale and lacked salt/pepper. My parents said the chicken was great and the tortilla was average. Not much of a beverage selection. Service: The service was horrendous. The older male, Enyiell?, took 10 minutes to attend to us and when he did, he was extremely rude and impatient, and then expressed frustration and shook his head with disapproval when my dad changed his order (from 1 type of burrito to another which solely required a change in name since he wrote it down before entering it into the system). We will not be returning mainly because of this reason. Atmosphere: Slightly dumpy and dirty. Could definitely use a facelift. This restaurant has great potential to become better than average. It definitely needs help in the customer service department and could use redecorating. Perhaps hire more/new employees who understand what customer service and efficiency means as well as make slight adjustments to the above food items.

This place has a crazy amount of potential. The food is good. The ambience though is dull. They have piñatas hanging from the ceiling and fun wall art but they are playing elevator music from the speakers and the humming from the AC over powers it.. literally putting me to sleep. TVs turned off. The customer service was bad.I was standing Infront of one of the employees for a solid two minutes before he decided to look up from his phone. If they had music that was more fitting, better customer service and just a general feeling of caring..It would be so much better. I hope the owner reads this so that he can do something about it rather than get offended.

I would give this place no stars if it was possible. My boyfriend ordered a burrito and the ground beef was way too overcooked, and burnt. He asked the chef/owner if perhaps he could get something else or if he could remake it and the chef insisted that he cannot do anything and that is the way it is cooked. He said "Everyone loves my food so I dont know what to tell you." He continued ignoring him. We then tried asking for our money back and he refused. It got to the point where the chef was yelling at us. We will not be returning and definitely do not recommend anyone going. These people are rude and dont know how to treat their customers.

Every time we come up to Broward,we eat here. Theres no place like it in Miami. Everything is made fresh and authentic. The chips and guac to tacos, and the hamburger is unbelievable!! Very affordable, very attentive staff and service is quick. Speaks Spanish if you want the real deal experience or English if thats your standard. The only downside is,they used to have fountain drinks and now its cans but thats not enough to down grade. If your on your way to Tates Comics or not,do your self a favor and treat yourself to some awesome food just make sure to bring an appetite as they serve up more than you can handle!!
