We have eaten at Indian restaurants about 10 years ago, and 9 years ago my husband proposed to me at an Indian restaurant in North. Clearwater area. Ordering from this dinner menu is worth the expense for a special night out to both of us! This is our favorite Indian restaurant in Pinellas County. We always order the saag paneer with rice and plain Nan. If you like creamed spinach as a side dish, you will enjoy this vegetarian meal. This is the first restaurant in the County I have enjoyed chicken tikka,,,it is not dry and spiced delicously! Try the (pronounced rahmalay) dessert of cheese in cream and pistachios, it is YUMMY though it sounds parculiar! You may want to call ahead for this dessert. This is the first restaurant we have found that makes it well. If you have not eaten Indian food, try the lunch buffet.

They are so stingy. I had been there with my family, and asked them for 4 naan and they gave me 2. When I pointed this out, the waitress started pointing to the 2 naans and saying this is 4 naans. Ive been eating out for years, I know 2 naans from 4 naans. This stinginess is reflected in all of their dishes, they curry portions are so tiny and they charge an arm and leg. Admitted, their curries really taste awesome, I wish they would give correct proportion of it tho. They really need to work on being less stingy. Another thing I noted, they have 4 or 5 waiter staff that just stand there at the back side, doing nothing. Only 1 wait staff is doing the work and she takes forever to appear on the table. Very surprising place, indeed.

Food was good. I wouldnt say so much about the service. The lady at the restaurant was rude. We had taken our own bottled water to drink. We were looked at suspiciously while entering instead of seeing some smiling face. We were told outside water is not allowed. Thats fine by me. Had asked for water to drink. The lady takes forever to get two glasses of water. Finally, had to open my own bottle. Plus I was surprised, when they charged a whole $10.00 buffet for my less than two year old son. All he ate was less than one cup daal chawal. This is the first time it has happened. Usually most restaurants let it go since they eat so less. Would never go back again.

If you live in the area, its an okay place for dinner, but having driven from downtown St Pete, it was disappointing. The vindaloo is definitely not recommended -- it is vinegary, but not spicy, even after asking for it to be as spicy as possible, and tasted more like pot roast than anything else. The go-to American dish of butter chicken was missing the creaminess flavor and was rather bland, even for a bland dish. Everything was simply average. Not the worst weve had, but at the same time, nothing weve had here in three different visits have risen to the level where we look forward to coming back.

I went here based on my wifes desire for Indian food. Since we used to frequent Indian restaurants in New York. I took advantage of the $8.95 all you can eat buffett. Sure the selection was small but what they made up for in selection the taste of all the food was VERY GOOD. The butter chicken was absolutely delicious. My wife had the Lamb Vindaloo which was delicious as well. The staff was very friendly and the prices were reasonable. I would highly recommend this place and would go back to this establishment. They made for a pleasant dinning experience.

Looking for something other than a sandwich, its acceptable and it was fast. The lunch buffet was a bit more expensive then I have seen in other cities. That said, for a small place, the selection and variety was really good. Spices were a bit mild, so for typical tastebuds wanting a different flavor it was right on. But for me, I think more authentic would be best, perhaps ordering off the menu would have a different result, definitely will try again.

This is the only Indian restaurant I ate at near Clearwater. We had lunch here and there was a lunch buffet. The staff was kind and respectful. Selection was average (Korma, saag, tikka). Food was average. Restaurant location and service just below average (had to ask to bring extra rice, no silverware, was told my toddlers would not be charged for food but then was)... Youll get decent Indian food here, but dont expect to leave overly excited.

This place is a rip off. At most Indian restaurants, naan is included in the lunch buffet, but here they charge you $2 per naan at lunch buffet if you eat more than one naan. Also a cup of tea is $2.50 and a refill will cost you another $2.50. It appears they are having a tough time making any money. Restaurant business is tough anyway but if they keep this nickle and diming up, I do not expect this place will last very long.

Horrible and disrespectful. We call them before leaving form our hotel I spoke with a man that you guys are closing by 9:30 and I am 8 miles away from you and at that time it was 8:47PM he told be most welcome and we reach there by 9:07PM. Lady in the front told us that kitchen is close and we do not serve after 9PM. And it is fine with adult but for children i was hurt. We will never visit again.

Worst Buffet Lunch!! None of the items were worthy of second serving. Chicken Tandoori was dry and stiff like it were cooked with frozen chicken.Naan was also dry and stiff. Very less dishes in buffet to choose from. Items were not covered so eventually they went cold. Waste of Money. Having eaten in all Indian restaurants across Tampa,Clearwater & St. Pete, this is surely one of the worst.

Taste of Punjab is by far the best Indian restaurant in the area. Weve eaten in the restaurant several times and always had very friendly attentive service, and get take-out about once a month. Weve had everything from the vegetarian dishes (the eggplant and the saag paneer are great) to chicken (tikka masala and tandoori are awesome) and lamb dishes, and its always delicious.

Great food, tastes just like back in Northern India where I grew up. Ill go back as often as I can! We went for the buffet, and each dish had its own distinctive flavor. Ive been to some Indian restaurants that I was hard pressed to distinguish one dish from another. There were 3 different kinds of chutney; mint, tamarind and tomato. A party in your mouth.

One of my favorite lunch places. The lunch buffet food is always fresh and tasty. Really high quality. The service is great as well as the atmosphere in general. The location is a little hard to find. The restaurant is tucked in the back right corner of the plaza. Dont let the modest external fool you, if you like Indian cuisine you need to visit here.

What a great place for Indian food! This was one of those restaurants where you order too much because it all looks great and then you keep eating it after even though you are full because it tastes even better! There are MANY vegetarian options here that you should definitely try! Friendly service makes this a go to! Bottom line: Just come eat here!
