Royal India is absolutely the most wonderful restaurant since sliced bread, or rather, sliced naan ! The food is simply amazing with flavours that will make you want to lick your plate. Each entree come in a beautiful metal container on a brass stand with a flame warmer to keep it hot while you eat. The servers are impeccable, efficient and courteous. They dont run madly around the restaurant, so you dont feel rushed or frazzled. They always seem to know when you need something and they magically appear. The price is right and well worth the quality. We have gotten to know the mild mannered boss lady Brema and her family who works there. The hospitality there is like eating in an Indian home surrounded by kindred souls. For newbies to Indian food, go for the daily lunch buffer where you can try many dishes and see what you like. I like my meats but I may turn into a vegetarian at this restaurant. The veggies dish are outstanding. This is not a 5 star restaurant. It is a 10 star restaurant! Do go try it out. Tell them the Chinese lady with the mango trees sent you.

We tried this place twice and it was quite good. Next time was on a Sunday. The buffet was a total disappointment, Goat curry, forget it, and a huge pan of okra. Might be a big thing for Indians, but not at all something we would eat. We were almost finished with our meal of only one dish offering that we would consider, when finally the server came round with flat bread. What took so long?. Even our water glasses stayed empty till end of meal. Whats up with the dessert part of the meal? One item, and I wouldnt even consider it, Nor would my husband. Whats up with that? Why not at least a few choices?There was also some tofu dish that was bland as it could be.And for this fare we were charged three dollars more per plate because it was the weekend. We are never going back.

My family and I came here excited for a new experience. None of us have ever had Indian food before and we were really excited that they had a buffet so we could try multiple things at once. We loved it! The food was surprisingly wonderful. However the service was what made it extra special. We told the host that we had never had Indian food before and he walked use through the whole buffet and told us about every dish and what was in it. It was wonderful. He seemed just as excited as us that we were trying their food for the first time. Henry made our experience extra enjoyable. :)

I am very picky about Indian food as I am a good ethnic foods cook. This place blows me away!! I have been there ten times already and each time is simple amazing. The flavors of each dish are so different and each has a different wow factor. For once I cannot say I have a favorite dish. I am going to try and eat every entre on the menu. Please do go there and enjoy. The place is so clean and tastefully decorated. The waiters are very professional, prompt, polite and kind. I will like to give the v. ,m 10 stars instead of just 5.

Delicious, authentic Indian cuisine! The absolute best that you will find in the area. The staff is very considerate and knowledgeable about the menu. My girlfriend and I are vegans and we are usually quite wary about eating out. Our server was understanding of our food restrictions and even assured us several times that our meals would be vegan friendly, even when delivering the food. This restaurant is the only place in town that you should eat at if you are looking for great food and A+ service.

I love a really good Indian meal! This city was void of any Indian food and now it has a real winner! Delicious! I do wish it was Indian spicy instead of American spicy, but all you have to do is ask and its instantly authentic...I guess when in America cater to Americans! I even took a friend who claims to dislike Indian food and she loved it! Told me to give this place 5 stars as well!! What a kind and decent staff as well. You just dont get this kind of service and quality anymore!

Well tonight i tried indian food for the first time, WOW, what a good choice. The absolute best service I have ever received in my life. The food was totally incredible, and was reasonably priced to boot. The staff and the chef are top notch, and I really cant get over how good the food was, some of the best cuisine Ive ever experienced, I am already planning my next visit, definately fine dining on a budget. Wow.....................

Had take out and the food is amazing. They cook everything on site so you have a wait and not long and oh so good. My first visit they gave me soup to try for free while waited for food. If you have never had mango soup, its worth every sip. The lamb was more than I imagined and the the Naan bread is amazing. The staff were so nice friendly and helpful on dishes and pronunciation. My new favorite place to eat.

Spent an evening at Royal India, the food was ok, service was ok, place was ok, but I would advice all customers to CHECK THEIR BILL when paying as they will charge more than what is stated on the menu, and when you point this out, they will simply say they gave you an old menu, and will not offer to rectify the mistake. An extremely dishonest waiter which spoilt our evening. BE WARNED.

What an asset this restaurant will be to Port Charlotte. Good ethnic food is so hard to come by around here. The menu is extensive and the food is authentic. I had two appetisers prawn masala and a samosa. Both delicious. My companion had chicken korma which was very good. We had garlic naan which was scrumptious. Will definitely go back. Well done to the family from Kerala.

Had lunch here on Sunday, we both had the lunch buffet, I thought it was amazing, after living in England for several years we both ate a lot of Indian food, and found upon moving to swfl that there are hardly any Indian restaurants. This is by far our favorite, the food is good, authentic Indian food. and for $13.99 you cant go wrong with the buffet. I loved every dish.

Amazing buffet and dinner. Cant wait to go again. Staff are very friendly and the food is delicious. Update : 6/25/2016 - the best food I have ever eaten. I eat here at least once a week since there are several vegetarian option. Staff is so friendly and overall one of the best places to eat in the area.

Great food, polite and friendly staff. The mild food is great, and the spicy is nice too. They will make anything spicy upon request. (as of spring 2016) They have a buffet for the lunch crowd (11:30 to 2:30) and then open the again for dinner around 5pm without the buffet. The Saag Chicken is great.
