Absolutely delicious food, and the staff are very courteous. My husband and I go a couple times per month, either for the lunch buffet or for dinner. Everything is outstanding, I love this place! The chicken tikka masala is excellent, as are the papadams and onion chutney. I wish I could eat at Bawarchi more often, but my stomach might explode from over-stuffing it too often! Some of the bad reviews of this restaurant are just rude. If you dont like the food, thats your opinion - but dont assume that everyone who likes the food here is ignorant about Indian food, or that the good reviews are written by restaurant staff. I wonder if the people who experienced bad service were in fact bad customers.. theyre so rude in their review, I wonder if they themselves were polite to the staff in the first place! Bawarchi is hands down one of the very best Indian restaurants in the Tampa Bay area, and Ive tried quite a few. I have been disappointed at other restaurants closer to Tampa-proper, and think to myself "Nope, these guys arent nearly as good as Bawarchi!" If you love Indian food, give Bawarchi a try. You will very likely find yourself going back again and again!

We had sunday lunch buffet and we promise this is our worst experience. I stayed in USA for around for around 8 years and I went to many Indian restaurants. In Tampa I stayed for 3 years and been to all Indian restaurants in that area but never experienced such an awful place. Very bland food and very few items in the buffet and I dont even see biryani. The rice is not cooked properly and curries are awful. The waiter is very arrogant when we provided our feedback. He is the only one person working in the restaurant and he didnt even know how to swipe a credit card. My amex card was rejected twice and I had to use another card to pay. When I inquired with Amex they said it was wrongly entered. We were so hungry even after having buffet because we couldnt eat any thing there. We had to head to subway and had a sandwich. Dont believe all the positive reviews. I am sure they are written by the staff. We paid 27 dollars for 2 and had to eat in subway after our lunch. I still wonder how they are surviving. May it works with customers who do not have any idea about Indian food. Worst place ever, dont waste your money!!!

I went here for the first time on Sunday Nov. 23rd, 2014 for dinner. The service was great, the food was even better. My boyfriend is body building, and Im pregnant, so we came with big appetites, but could not finish it all, and the prices are quite reasonable. I try to follow a Whole Foods Plant-Based diet, so there was more oil and salt than I am used to, but nowhere near as bad as any other restaurant, so Im quite happy with my experience. I will definitely be going back. We ordered the vegetable samosas (obviously not oil-free as it is deep fried), Bombay Aloo, Roti, and an Okra meal (cannot recall the name). It came with rice. I asked for the Masala Chai without milk. Im not sure if I had to be specific or not, as Im still new to Indian food, but I made sure to ask that nothing have butter, ghee, milk, meat, or eggs in it, and the server was very polite about the whole thing. Edit: we received a gift certificate for $25 to spend here, with an expiration date for 6 months later... Having just given birth, we were never able to go in time, and because of this, refuse to go back.

I normally do not write bad reviews for any restaurant but the quality of food forced me to write so that other people do not expect much. Well, I ordered tow vegetarian dishes, Malai kofta and some Indian cottage cheese dish. It was the worst Malai Kofta I ever had. There were 4 small sized balls in whole lot of curry.....and these balls were not even soaked and looked like were cooked a week back. Similarly there were very few peices of Indian cottage cheese in the other dish I ordered. Taste was aweful !!!. Much to my surprise we were 3 people and the gratuity of 18% was added to the bill. I asked why is this added, the person there replied we generally add gratuity when there are 2 or more than 2 people. Can you imagine that.....I never saw any restaurant adding gratuity for less than 5 people.

i have been coming here for the past year and although the service is slow, even when there are only a couple tables, food has always been good. However my experience was terrible last time i went. We waited for an hour for our food. We were told it would be right out. Two minutes later the waitress brought over what looked like our food to another table that had just sat down. We thought it was weird we had waited an hour and they had just got there and already had food. They started eating it, then realized it was not the right order...IT WAS OURS. When they told the waitress, the waitress attempted to bring it over to us AFTER they had already eaten it. We got up and left at this point in fear they would bring it into the kitchen and then attempt to serve it to us again.

This hotel is one of the worst you could visit. The receptionist denied entry stating they cannot feed a group of 18. When I countered the argument asking if they dont have food for 18 people she did not have an answer. There was another associate who was quick tp sort the iasue and get us seated. We waited 15 mins at the table without even a menu card. Once we ordered food it was almost 30 mins for the soup to be served. All the food were extremely spicy and none of us could manage it. We are pretty used to spicy food, but this was extremely Hot that spoiled the taste. On top of all this, we had a bad billing which had to be recalculated twice. As a whole I will never ever recommend this hotel to anyone.

Our first time visiting after having wanted to come for awhile. Apparently, we arrived after a lunch rush and the hostess/server was visibly flustered. The buffet was decimated and we figured it was due to the recent lunch rush and would be replenished shortly. It never was. We got enough to eat, amd the food was good, but we were scraping the pans. Other customers came in and we heard them told that they just had a big rush and had been closed for 2 days. I guess they werent going to make anymore food. Also, the selection of dishes was minimal compared to other Indian buffets we have been to. Not sure if we will return to give it another try, but we will see.

I have eaten at Bawarchi a fair amount now and can definitely say it is my favorite in the area. They are serious with their "spicy" levels, in a good way it is simple mild medium and hot, and they are true to their word. I personally prefer medium and hot. Their sauces are on the thinner side, more on the South Indian standard, but are full of flavor. Their naan is also incredible! I am slowly trying new things on the menus. But so far I have not had a bad meal. I will say that their portions do change from time to time, Ive had easily two meals out of some orders and one out of the next. But fair price and always good service.
