Gosh, I just had the most awful experience at the Olive Garden in Largo, FL, a restaurant which has always been my families favorite. I personally stop there every Friday on the way home after a normally busy work week running and taking care of my patients. My family history includes growing up with restaurants family business, so I am aware of proper service although adequate is fine as long as the meal arrives on time, I am not made to wait intentionally and mostly though, I am not made to feel uncomfortable eating alone. I have children I cook for when at home and we often also go to dinner at this restaurant as it has been our favorite at least once every single month. (If you look up all charge card receipts under my name this will be corroboration). I always order either the Salmon, Scampi or the Tour of Italy, a Grey Goose with cranberry/OJ, and desert. This is my time alone to relax, not in the market for promotions or coupons, and my dinner is normally approximately $50 for myself and I sit in the lounge area, I arrived today after 3 pm and looking forward to a good meal and a good experience and cannot tell you how disappointed I am as I just had the very worst experience. I walked in and the bartender (woman with long light brown hair in a pony tail) turned, but did not acknowledge and walked away, was gone about 5 minutes obviously to retrieve something to restock because she came back and restocked rather than coming over for even a drink order! I sat there for 10 minutes ignored as I believe I was a single woman dining alone. She was brusque, took the order, dropped off the food and never once came back. Halfway through the dinner she came over and threw my check on the table never having waited until I was done eating! Never having asked whether or not I wanted another drink or desert. I asked for and spoke w the manager, was professional at all times and she responded to say "receiving the check early was normal at lunch"...it was 4 pm, no further comment and she walked away, just walked away....no apology, nothing. Wow, truly awful exp! I normally spend over $200 a month a t a m i n i m u m for myself only for 4 Fridays a month... When you factor in the 1-2 times I bring my entire family per month, in all likelihood over $3200 each year which can be verified by my name and charge receipts. You have lost $3200 this year and each year thereafter because I will not go back. : /

So, Im not a picky eater, and if youre a waiter for my table, youll notice that. But, I do have a problem when individuals in the service industry have to deliver bad news and dont know how to; sometimes it all really depends on how you say things. Recently it seems that the Olive Garden franchises began to "crackdown" on people sharing their starter salads and/or soups. Its waiting staff however, have yet to be properly trained on how to address the FACT that people still share with their loved ones their soups & salads. If you are a waiter for this franchise, PLEASE do not interrupt our appetizer soup/salad meal to announce to the table that, since were sharing our ordered appetizers, the culprits of such violation are going to have to cough up an additional $4 dollars and change!! Actually, if this is the action that O.G. is going to be taking, then perhaps it may be time to introduce all-you-can eat single serving salads (much like you do with your soups), instead of bringing a bowl of salad to the table that is meant to serve one or two people. Additionally, please train your staff to start off announcing this as the order is being taken to avoid any unpleasantness during the course of the meal. This, the fact that my spouses wine order was not brought at all, the lack of attention for items on the table that needed to be refilled/removed, just snowballed my last visit to this location into a "were going to take a long break from Olive Garden" conversation I held with my family and friends (9 of us in total) as we headed home. A conversation and decision that couldve been avoided by...attention to detail, and just knowing how to say things. I mean, cmon guys, its just lettuce, pasta, and fat, with a high price tag! We went there because we wanted to feel like family!

It was my birthday dinner and we ordered our food and both my boyfriend and I were quietly eating our salads when all the sudden a manager came up to the table and asked if we ordered a pitcher of Sangeria and that we hav had too much to drink already and they werent going to serve us. When I explained that we didnt order it and I dont drink. She got rude that we had get up and leave. I hav been so offended. I know that the table that actually did order it may hav been a problem but she took it out on the wrong table. So that server was great and Im sorry that I didnt get a chance to explain to her that it wasnt her fault. But the managers of all the staff should get their table and facts right before they go and ruin someone elses night. And being it was my birthday made me even more upset. I am now banning olive garden and will tell many ppl I know to boycott as well. And I know a lot of ppl being that Im in the hospitality industry. And I didnt get an apology or anything. I cant describe how upset that experience was.

Went for lunch around 2 30pm. Was told it would be a bit of a wait for a booth unless we sat in the bar area. There were two people at the bar so why not. Was with a 16 year old and my 2 year old. The bartender waited on us which she was far from friendly. Made us feel like a burden then anything. I realized this when the friendly host sat her 2 more tables in this area as she huffed and rolled her eyes. She (Angie) disappeared many times as we could have used refills and never checked to ask how our food was. Which was far from hot when she brought it. Desert was needed but she threw down the check and never asked. So by this point we were over her. So it was not worth our time to have her adjust this. We just wanted out of there. I myself am in the restaurant industry and i would NEVER make someone feel like a burden when this is the career you choose. We will go back but will NEVER want this unpleasant person again!!!

Always love O.G., esp. since its one of the few things my nephew will eat! Salads & breadsticks are always great. The pasta fogoli soup is better! Super happy they brought back the Northern Taste of Italy...I replace the mushroom pasta (too dry, never enough sauce) with two chicken Lombardi (remember to ask for extra cream sauce) and cheese tortellini...awesome! As much as I love it, the appetizers are my favorites. The lasagna frittata is AMAZING! Never thought it was possible, but the Chicken Piadina has rocked our world! The first time we tried it was in Orlando...next to no cheese or chicken and what was there was in just one part of one wedge. But this Largo location makes it perfect...AMAZING...every single time! My mom loves the taramisu...best shes ever had. Big big fans of Largo O.G.! I think positive reviews should mean free food! Hahaha!
