This is a great value for the money. Is it a "5-Star" in the sense of top of the line Michelin, Zagat, or AAA rating system? No. But it is good food, nice service, and clean surroundings. We come here regularly now that I found it. Will you likely have a "not so great" turkey sandwich, as one reviewer put it? Maybe. Or the other 2-star review that supposes hell just have to keep on coming because his mother-in-law loves it? I suppose the mother-in-laws opinion counts for nothing. And what if youve never tasted lamb? Will you be win over by the lamb at Acropol? Maybe or maybe not. You have to be prepared to not like something when you try it for the first time. To then downgrade a restaurant because you have no idea how something should taste is unfair. The tzatziki is not exactly how I would make it at home, but its pretty good and nobody makes it as good as I do. But they have PORK souvlaki like god intended. (Chicken souvlaki has no purpose in life.) The homestyle specials are always good. The London Broil is tasty. The wait staff is very nice. You wont always get things very fast when you come at the busiest times, but it hasnt been a problem. Trust me in this one. I have written lots of reviews on Yelp based on a single visit. I try to be fair. I go to those expensive restaurants only once or twice. I go to Acropol regularly. Finally its well lit, comfortable, and the music and general noise level are quiet enough to have a conversation.

My wife and I went here for the first time. She had breakfast food and I had lamb chops. She enjoyed her eggs, and I was disgusted by my lamb chops. I never had them anywhere else before, so I have no way to judge them against another restaurant. I just know whatever seasoning was used was horrible. It was cooked as I requested, medium. But as soon as it touched my tongue, I hated the flavor. I tried to eat as much bread and drink as much as I could to get rid of the taste. I could not get it to go away. The server was very sorry and offered me another dish, but my appetite was gone as soon as I took that first bite. The only way I can describe it is as a citrus, garlic, lemon, old fishy taste. I may return, but definitely not trying lamb chops. Ill likely never try them anywhere. Too expensive a lesson.

Good breakfast! Took a friend, both of us had omelettes and were only able to eat half. Lots of food and our beverages came to less than $20. Food was piping HOT, which I love and now that the season is over, they still are busy. Even when busy, I dont think I have ever gotten impatient waiting for my food. Busy to me is good due to the fact that they dont have time for food to sit around borderlining salmonella! Dinner specials are great, bring your belly empty, so much food I always take home the remainder, leaving enough to feed my lil dog & self one or two more meals. You cant beat the prices for the quality of food. They also have plenty of room for groups or parties. Give it a try. Bon appetite!

My husband and I went to Acropol Greek Restaurant for the first time today. It was amazing. We were seated right away, drinks came quickly, our server was pleasant. Its much larger inside than it looks outside. There was a large party for lunch and a group of ladies playing cards where we were seated. I love to see locals in the place. He ordered Country Fried Steak from the Wednesday specials. It was HUGE, there was a mountain of potatoes and gravy. I ordered Chicken Shish Kabob with Ricertain Pilaf and green peppers and onions. The house Greek salad was awesome! The dressing is the best Ive had. Soft bread. Refills without asking. Great lunch. Coming back for sure.

My husband and I recently ate at the Acropol Family Restaurant. It was our first time there. We enjoyed the hot bread and greek salads, but my London Broil was horrible! There wasnt a bite that I could eat. It was full of grizzle and fat. The meat was also red in the center. When the waitress asked how was everything? I answered that my meat was too grizzly and fatty and I couldnt eat it. She said she was sorry. It wasnt her fault, but I should have never been served inedible food. I told her Id bring it home for my dog. It made my dog sick. Very bad....... Never again..........They didnt take any money off our bill either........

To be clear- I would rate the food FAIR not poor as well as the service. We stopped by around five oclock on a Wednesday for a quick early dinner. My husband and I had cheeseburgers and onion rings and my son had a piece of grilled chicken and a side of carrots. We also shared a dessert. The chicken was a little too done and the carrots bland. The onion rings and burgers were okay. There was nothing outright poor but also nothing very good. The dessert was the best part and even that was fair. The decor was very outdated and the details werent cleaned. The server was nice but again, nothing special.

I visit my mom in the area quite often. Ive enjoyed breakfast at Acropol many times in the past. Yesterday was far different. First, the wait staff assigned to my table acted as if I didnt exist. The most pleasant interaction happened when she flew to my table and grabbed butter out of the bowl to give to another table. Even when she served my food (after a LONG wait), she was talking to another table. I decided to order a special breakfast and asked for the Eggs Benedict. Wow. The meat was the cheapest brand of ham available. I wont bother to visit again.

Family owned and operated - they try hard to please you. Most of the time very fast service - those waitresses work their arses off. You get a LOT of food for the money and they have wonderful fresh homemade bread. But this is not a fancy eatery and the food is not gonna win any critical acclaim. Some things are better than others - stick with the daily specials as they are fresh. But its low priced, filling and you can take home enough for lunch or dinner later. Accept it at that. Im giving it 4 stars for effort and quantity, 3-4 stars for food quality.

Clearwater one at sunset point is excellent, this one is a mess. Freezing cold table, not so good waitress, ( not the worst not the best)dirty air filters on ceiling Food was so so..Will not be returning. Free entertainment of a waitress that was like something on I love Lucy show in the 50s on super hyper speed.., long wait time. This place was a mess , My boyfriend insisted with atleast give her a 3$ tip, I was arguing with him to give nothing. But we gave her 3$. Normally we tip a good waitress 20%

Our regular breakfast place burnt down & we had tried to find a decent replacement here in the Largo Seminole area. We have sampled at least 8 other places, before finding this gem of a diner/restaurant. My wife loves the Home fries they serve here and also feels the staff are more personable than other places we tried. I like the many options available I have found the 2eggs 1 pancake breakfast fits my tummy just right :) The Acropal is our new favorite breakfast spot, our search has ended :).
