I alternate between Atlantic Beach and downtown often and when I do, I find myself creeping into Volstead almost every time. The atmosphere of the place matches the mood and the drinks. Its more of a relaxed after work bar where you can actually hear who youre talking to - or on the weeknights it can be a little louder depending on the entertainment for the night. The drinks are moderately priced, but well made. Always a cool place to start or end a date.

I have frequented Volstead over the last three years, and it is no wonder I keep coming back. The service is always phenomenal, the cocktails are always on point, and the atmosphere is always pleasant. I have recommended this bar to every single one of my friends, and I highly recommend it to anyone that wants begin, end, or spend their night the right way.

First time in Jacksonville and me and my boyfriend were looking for a craft cocktail bar. Shayanne (dont know if im spelling that right) she was amazing. Drinks were perfect, she was witty and we were so glad we stopped by. Had such a great time we stopped by the next night. You have to come here if you have a appreciation for cocktails!

Sassy and swinging! These bartenders are shaking up great concoctions and staying g true to prohibition stylings. The atmosphere is classic speak easy with a lot of room. Nice patio in the back for smokers and no smoking inside. Perfect place for a good drink and dancing! Go daddy-o!

Really enjoyed the drinke at The Volstead last night. The staff was attentive and friendly. We wish they had been playing jazzy prohibition music instead of whatever garbage was on though. The store front was cool and I think it might actually keep some local riff raff out!

Pricey, smells sewagey in the back, and they kept messing up our groups drinks. Not sure its worthy of the hype after multiple visits. Whatever I got was not a Sidecar, it tasted like vermouth and tequila in a sugar rimmed martini glass and I literally wanted to die.

Where the drinks are sublime, the music lowkey, vibes of old, and the woodsy smell of whiskey. You will be pleasently surprised when you step inside. Just look for the old time post office and it hides just behind. You wont be disappointed. Tell em Farrell sent ya!

Went here on NYE. Decor and setup for the party was awesome, music was great. It wasnt one of those places that drowns out all social interaction with the soundsystem. The drinks were incredible, and the bartenders were pretty attentive and talented.

I love this places vintage speakeasy atmosphere. They have an impressive selection of spirits, and classic and signature cocktails. Bar staff is super friendly and theyre some of the best damn mixologists around town.

Pricey for sure but they go the extra mile and handmake the drinks. I would recomend going on a dance lesson night or one of the activitys they put on I had alot of fun on salsa dance night. The crowd is pretty cool.

Really neat bar in downtown. Something downtown has needed for awhile. Has a great atmosphere and theme to it. Bartenders are good here and the prices are not to bad. Great bar; come in for a visit.
