Order: My favorites are the Vanilla Latte or the Cappuccino Price: $3-$6 depending on your order and adds Pros: Hands down best coffee in Jax, and one of the best coffee shops period Cons: Seating can be hard to come by, sometimes the wait gets long when they are busy Thoughts: Do you like coffee? If so this isnt a difficult choice; go, now. If you have never been, drop what youre doing and go experience some of the best coffee of your life. If you dont like coffee….youre doing life wrong and you should seek professional help. Seriously though this place is amazing, coffee is their craft and to them the creation is an art form. The please is the embodiment of coffee; from the smell of freshly roasted coffee when you walk in, to the friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff, to the perfection of their espresso, to the literal art in the foam on their drinks, this place does coffee right. They hand make all their own syrups and they are all amazing, they even cycle a monthly "specialty" syrup that is normally a little odd sounding but utterly delicious. The real star here is their espresso, it is the best espresso I have ever had the pleasure of drinking; and how they get there is a process. They work closely with all the growers of their beans, they do all their own roasting, and they put a lot of effort into trying their staff; all for that perfect cup of coffee. The only real downside to Bold Bean is a result of their immense popularity. They are often extremely busy, resulting in a noticeable wait time of 5+ minutes for coffee when they are really slammed. On top of that seating can be hard to come by (again, only when they are slammed) but overall Ive never had to wait for a table if Im willing to not be too picky. Its hard to really count popularity as a "downside" since it just speaks to how awesome this place really is. The only real thing I wish they would do is to put some good outside seating in. They currently only have two small round tables and a few chairs. I realize that space is limited and most people probably like sitting inside but I love outside seating (which their Beaches location has). Nothing like sitting in the sunshine, reading a good book, and sipping on an iced vanilla latte.

I went to the Jacksonville Beach shop after church and wanted to grab a coffee before heading home. The shop is very simplistic and clean. Loved the Charles Darwin photograph on the wall (bio major FTW)! Anyway, I had a dirty chai latte and requested a suggestion for a baked treat. The barista was raving over the cookies and even though Im not a fan of chocolate chip cookies...this was extra special. Perfectly sweet and salty. I kept looking at the thing wondering how it was made into perfection! I tried the drink and something tasted familiar.....it tasted like a cigar was put out in my drink. I dont know if the espresso was burnt or if the chai was just to spicy but it had the aftertaste of cigar smoke....and I loved it. I dont know why but it really hit the spot. Anyway, I mean, what else are you going to do in Jax? you might as well drop in and give it a try! P.S. There was a guy in there with his laptop asking about the WIFI code and they stated they didnt have one. The customer was SUPER snarky at the barista saying stuff like "Oh do you guys still accept cash? because thats pretty modern." The Barista was really kind and joking in reply. I thought that was respectable and worth my business seeing him killing the dude with kindness.

Knowing I would be in Jacksonville for the weekend, I made sure to scout out the best coffee shop in the area and I was not disappointed! Bold Bean Coffee Roasters had a really great atmosphere with plenty of natural lighting and open space. The coffee was very impressive and delicious. I prefer single origin pour overs and they killed it with that. Bought a bag of beans from them as well and its just as perfect as it was in house! Their baristas were very friendly and genuinely seemed to enjoy their job. I was disappointed that they havent ventured into coldbrew yet but they did have a really great cold tea made from the coffee cherry. I was also very impressed with their selection of physical goods in stock. As a coffee enthusiast, I always keep my eye out for shops that carry good coffee hardware for sale. They had the normal slew of brew methods (Aeropress, Chemex, V60, etc.), various accessories, and most impressively they had the Fellow Stagg kettle as well as the Acaia Pearl scale. All this to say, this coffee shop stands out as one of my favorites Ive been to. 5 stars easily.

Big time coffee and local beer. I have recently moved into Riverside and have been looking for a coffee home ever since. I have found it. Great in house roasted, slow drip coffee. Not your average cup o joe. Also serves local Intuition beer along with other microbrews. Personally, I didnt care as much for the lattes but I am a black coffee lover and I know others who love it. They have really comfortable plush chairs, regular tables and bar seating so dont worry about finding a place to sit. Also, they are the only coffee open late that I know of so whether it is a cup on the way to work or a relax at the end of the day, give them a try.

Favorite coffee spot in town, and in my opinion they have the best beans Ive ever tasted (been to over 10 countries and they are still the best)! I love their honey vanilla lattes. Ive seen some reviews about the sizes of their cups but Ive had no issue with it. I always order the large which is close to a "grande" at Starbucks. Bold Bean serves coffee the way its meant to be enjoyed, not overly sized or loaded with sugar and is always just the right sippable temperature. Whenever Im visiting friends I always make sure to buy a bag of their "sweet spot" espresso beans as a gift.

Love the energy in this shop! I experienced baristas that were kind and cheerful. lots of smiles and that makes a huge difference these days! On this hot day, I went with the espresso soda. Two shots over iced carbonated water. The espresso was nice and nutty with some brightness to finish. Ill probably have a hot one later but this was a nice refreshment coming out of the heat. Roasting on site, Slayer & Mahlkonigs on bar for espresso, V60 & Chemex on pour overs. Non-dairy mill options also available. Beer & wine are available as well as a handful of snack options.

For those of you who have finally had enough of Starbucks comes the hip and trendy (and affordable) Bold Bean Coffee Roasters. All the quality youd expect in an upscale coffee shop, presented in glassware rather than plastic cups, at about half the price youd pay at that Seattle-based chain that has a location on every corner. Locals know this is the place you want to go for your daily caffeine fix. Free Wi-Fi, leather chairs, indoor and outdoor seating, awesome place to meet up and hang out. Definitely part of my weekly routine.

Deliciousness! Their coffee is always perfect. You do not have to add anything. Their craft beer selection covers all bases of taste. The baked goods are from Knead Bake Shop (yum!) and they are usually gone by evening. I just adore stopping in after lunch, mid morning, after a late evening meal or anytime I am in the Riverside area. Everyone working here is always smiling and so helpful. The atmosphere is hip, the place is clean, parking is no problem. I just cant get Enough Bold Bean.
