Humongous Life
This is not just about poor service, its about discrimination. The girls who work here are extremely shady to me every time I go in, and Ive never been anything but nice to them. Maybe a little groggy before i get my coffee, but never rude. And I always tip, except the last time... I commented on the crack smoothie saying it looks delicious. The lady looked at me discouragingly and said, "That one is very, um, filling. Maybe you should try this other drink, but substitute whole milk for soy milk." The other girl working there started giggling uncontrollably with her friend, while they were both looking at me. Listen, Ive lived in my body my whole life and I have constantly dealt with the rudest commentary and thinly veiled scorn, simply for existing and taking up too much space. I know it when I see it. I am a 69" woman (yes really) and Im not thin. Im ridiculously strong and I work out lifting weights, doing yoga, boxing, and cardio 4-5x week. But, I have fat on my body. So to some people Im just not what a woman is "supposed" to look like and therefore they feel the need to insult me and try to encourage me to become smaller and less imposing. I will never, ever be going back to this coffee shop even though its the most convenient for me. Their sandwiches are terrible anyway, if Im gonna eat something thats gonna make me fatter (and consistently get subtly insulted for it), Ill go somewhere that actually tastes good. On the real though, the coffee is great. Poor, discriminatory, catty service. Yall should be ashamed.

Positives first: Lots of seating: tables and chairs, couches, indoors or outdoors. Knowing whos in line or where the line is seems to always be a bit confusing for customers as well as baristas. Their specialty lattes are delicious, but a little pricey for me. Breakfast sandwiches are fresh, made to order, but not very filling. Baristas seem to be more friendly and efficient towards male customers. In each of my visits I received a greeting, but when a man is behind me his greeting is much warmer. The first couple of times I figured it was a fluke and they were regulars. When I came here with a man he got more patience and an actual smile from the cashier which Ive never gotten. I have visited over a dozen times and have always left satisfied. However, my last visit I was turned off when I opted to sit outside and quickly found that they allow smoking at their outdoor tables directly near both entrances. This is understandable since its outdoors, but as a non smoker its nauseating to have to walk by or be surrounded by cigarette smoke while trying to enjoy coffee. I wish theyd have one side of the building as the designated smoking space so there was a way to avoid it.

The best coffee house in Fort Lauderdale! Its super comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly and quick with your order. It doesnt take long to see why these guys have such great reviews. Theres plenty of seating both inside and out so its a great place to meet people or get work done. WiFi is legit super quick and easy to connect too. If you havent been, check this place out. Its a cant miss.

I dont often experience racism, however, I experienced it today at sip Java. Even though I was at the front of the line, the attendant (who is Caucasian - I am not) decided to serve someone else (who is also Caucasian) who was behind me. I promptly left. I dont get treated like that at other coffee shops, and I dont need to be subjected to that. Very disappointing.

It was our first time coming here so we were took a bit longer to order since we didnt know the menu. The cashier who took our order (the petite black girl) was very rude while taking our order. She also messed up my food order. My gf noticed that she was rude as well and taken aback from her attitude. Dont make your first time customers feel stupid while ordering.

Not only was this a Lukes Diner pop up for Gilmore Girls Day it has the most fantastic coffee! The avacado toast on the raisin nut bread is my go to breakfast option. And if you like a coffee creaction, like the Almond Joy they will hook you up. There is a personal feel here, like the owners and staff know you even when you go there for the first time.

They make really good coffee, sell fair trade coffee, and have a really chill atmosphere. It can be busy at times. Lots of people go here to study and read. They also serve pastries and sandwiches which are really awesome too. Highly recommend, especially if youre into supporting small business not giant chains!

Its a nice local neighborhood spot for getting work done or hanging out. The coffee is from Intelligentisia. Its OK. They have lots of sweeter coffee drinks. Maybe not the choice of the hard-core coffee drinker, but a great spot to grab some iced sweetness and relax. Always had friendly baristas.

Great place for coffee-- they use intelligentsia coffee and have tons of selections of coffee drinks, teas, delicious pastries. Very friendly staff that are trained baristas. I used to go to a book club here a few years ago. This is the kind of place that you can spend hours in.

When you first walk into sip java you are overcome by the coldness of all the staff, beside the girl taking your money at the register. The coffee is overpriced and sup par at best. Honestly, save your money and go to any other coffee shop in Fort Lauderdale.

Coolest coffee shop Ive ever been to! The baristas in there make my morning, every day. Atmosphere allows me to get my work down and the local crowd is always friendly. Favorite food- the avocado toast, its ridiculously delicious.

At this cozy place, you can find tasty coffee to drink, people worth talking to, and smartly carved out spaces to do both. Sip is a warm, individual coffeehouse without any of the faux connoisseurship or unsavory pretension.

Fair trade and delicious coffee, fantastic service. The good is really good too. Pastries from Gran Forno, donuts made in-store, and breakfast sandwiches that knock the socks off of Dunkin. Theres no better coffee shop.

Unlike most Starbucks, it is not noisy, despite being similar size and equally busy. Could actually relax. Tables painted with images of local interest, staff so gracious. I will go there every time I am in Ft. LaDeDa.

Great coffee and atmosphere. Solid tea selection too. Bob (the owner) has always been great to me, going out of his way to help me in the process of starting my own small business. A staple of my routine.

Super friendly staff and excellent coffee. Ben stopping here for years since it was the old owners and called Brew. These people stepped it way up. A medium Good Karma is my go to for probably 10 years.
