If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The bartender was so rude I would never dream of eating here, ever. I came into this establishment, injured from a fall, and went to the restroom to clean myself up. I was obviously injured and bleeding from the lip and both knees. Not only did the Saturday night bartender not show a shred of concern or compassion that a young woman was injured, but he told me I needed to give him $5 for using the restroom! What kind of a business operates this way? Does the owner know their employee is attempting to extort money from potential customers? To make matters worse, he sent one of his customers after me to chase me down, scaring my son & threatened to call the police and child services for using the restroom! This creepy customer/employee followed us across the street, telling us hell follow us wherever we go until we pay. It was a good thing he could not keep up with me, he harassed me until I out walked him. I was ready to call the authorities myself by the time I left Daytona. I will NEVER visit this establishment when Im in town. What an uncouth, unscrupulous bunch of creeps!

So I tried ScuttleButts because I like to support mom and pop restaurants (I used to own one) . Reviews were pretty consistently above average, but my "food" experience was significantly below average. Let me say first the the restaurant felt clean and the wait staff was cordial and reasonably attentive (though it did feel like maybe this was not his "primary" line of work.) Now for the food... I had shrimp & grits... And frankly it was the worst rendition of it Ive ever had. The grits were completely unseasoned and tasted like maybe they were left over from breakfast. The shrimp were small, formerly frozen and tasteless...then the cheese was simply melted on the top (no chef would qualify that as "cheese grits"). Wherever there is Shrimp and Grits on the menu I order it and have had some that would qualify as spectacular... and when I might try something else on the menu, I would NEVER order this menu item again at Scuttlebutt... EVER.

Surprised by the 4 stars. The only waitress seated us, table of six, while trying to be the hostess in the middle of taking our orders was really annoying. After the majority of us order burgers and fries the really long wait was not enjoyable and then some of the food was cold.. Portion size was small which i guess is OK for the price but the long wait was not worth it. Also having the the waitress yell " Welcome to Scuttlebutts" from the length of the place instead of having a hostess or the waitress greet them at the door is soo unappealing. When she asked if we were having dessert we pretty much couldnt get out "NO" quick enough, getting out of there was a great feeling.

Weve been here several times in the last 18 months and always have a very good experience. The staff is terrific, very friendly and more than willing to accommodate any need. The food is very good-crab cakes are the best in town. My husband is very particular about his crab cakes but loves ScuttleButts! Everything is fresh and well prepared and presented. Their coleslaw is different from traditional mayo based recipes but I like it better-very fresh and crunchy. Definitely a good bet for casual dining.

Thankfully this place is open 7 days a week because I showed upon a Sunday! Its a proper pub layout with an open atmosphere, 1/2 booth - 1/2 tables lining both sides of the room. Lots of beer and wine! Its in a really quaint part of town with some cool shops around it. Our waitress was very nice. Parking could be a pain, but luckily there is parking behind the building. The food was decent for a pub. You could tell that the oil used to make the fries was a bit old, but it was okay.

My friends and I stopped there to eat a couple of weeks ago.. I ordered a bake potato..over cooked and I could only eat 1/3 of it because of a bad spot in the potatoe. When I received my bill I was charged $4.95 for the potato and $1.00 for a glass of WATER!!!!!!!!! My waitress failed to tell me in advance that I would be charged for WATER!!!! Needless to say I will never patronize that poor establishment ever again !!!!!!!Dont waste your time ..

Scuttlebutts isnt under new management, they no longer charge for water and the former server and chef have been replaced by an awesome husband and wife team from Alabama! Awesome service, good food, very clean establishment. If you have not been in a while please give them another chance! They have a Thursday special $1 off all menu items!!!

Food was amazing, home-cooked awesomeness. I got a burger & fries, my wife had the chili. Being from Cincinnati, we take our chili very seriously - ScuttleButtS does not disappoint! The burger was fresh, made-to-order, and tasted like it just came off the grill - which it did. Excellent service, excellent food, everything was great!

This was the best fish and chips we have had in a long time. My daughter is veg and hands down best black bean burger ever! Our girls 8 & 6 loved it. You must try the mahi bites omg they taste just like hot chicken wings. Must try. We cant wait to come back! Oh...and some nice cold draft Guinnesss :)

i got the pork barbeque the sandwich was ok the bread was a plain hamburger roll not a hard roll the size was a childs portion and the macaroni salad was bland no taste at all. i wanted to get a hamburger but they did not have spicy brown mustard. they charged 11.oo dollars for a blah sandwich

The food was amazing! Homemade tartar and mango Pico. I had the Mahi bites and my wife had breakfast. Also had a bloody Mary and it was perfect! Reasonably priced and the manager Cathy was so pleasant and very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. We will definitely be back!

Wow! What an awesome place. Kathy, our server was cheerful and accomadating. The food was absolutly amazing. I have worked in the resturant business for 20 years and it takes alot to impress me . I couldnt be any happier with my experience there. We will be back!!!

Went just before 130 in the afternoon. Ordered beer and burgers. Got beer prompt. Took almost an hour to get burgers. Only one cook working only one waitress working. Food was good though. Bathrooms were nice and very clean. Restruant had awesome atmosphere.

Searching for something different, found it! Hubby got .75 wings they are meaty and delicious! I went Mahi Sandwich with homemade coleslaw and dipping sides.... fabulous cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back, possibly our new date night spot =)

I worked there. I was fired solely for "my lifestyle choices" meaning I am transgender. The owners are also not acceptable of the gay lifestyle. Not a place Id give my money to.

Horrible service, so so food and they were not even busy. I know everyone has a bad day but we saw people leaving due to lack of service. Avoid this place.
