Despite its convenient Davie location, the Flashback Diner is nothing like the longtime Lums that it replaced. I have eaten here about six times since the switch and felt compelled to review on this particular occasion. This particular Flashback Diner location is open 24/7/365. It has plenty of parking and is very clean. I visited on September 26th at approximately 11:15 p.m. I forgot the name of my server and it was not on the debit card receipt I received at the end of my visit. I ordered the Reuben Sandwich straight up. For a drink I had my usual water, with lemon. Upon receiving my order, the sandwich was very lacking on substance. Very little meat and no pickle. My water did not come with a wedge of lemon. Despite the fact that it was almost midnight and I was only one of three customers, my server never returned with the requested lemon or an answer on how much meat is normally placed on the sandwich. Total check for the sandwich and water, with tax, was $16.41. I only left two bucks as a tip. What a disappointment. I will never return to the Flashback Diner. Horrible! This is not the Flashback Diner it used to be. I ordered the new Chicken souvlaki. It was 1 dry chicken breast, wilted salad and cut up Pita bread. I told the waitress to please bring me a Matza Ball soup and 1/2 a club sandwich.The soup arrived. It was good, but almost a 1/2 hour later, when my boyfriend was done with his meal, did she bring the 1/2 club sandwich. My boyfriend had a Gyro. That night and the next day he had really bad stomach pains and was in the restroom a lot.(dont know if this was caused by the Gyro..cant say for sure if it was food poisoning or had nothing to do with it). All I know is that the owner of Flashback needs to train his/her staff, (cooks, waitresses) better. Flashback was a place we would go when family was in town.We will no longer go there anymore. PS I am not the only person who said this. My neighbor next door also complained about Flashback..Too bad. It used to be great. Its also quite expensive for the poor quality of food. I read some other negative recent reviews. We will go from now on to Tower Deli, food is always great and fresh, service is wonderful. Expensive, but so is Flashback....good bye Flashback!

I dont give it 5 because I dont want them to get a big head about it and then have them rest on their laurels. This place is deceptively awesome! It looks like a Dennys from the outside (HA!) but its not. My people and I have gotten to the point where we just close eyes and pick a spot on the menu and order whatever the hell the finger points to. Were waiting for Flashback to screw up eventually and when that day happens we already have concluded it as an act of God and thereby Flashback had no control over the matter. Otherwise everything on the menu is great and thats a lot of different stuff for all tastes. As reference we normally show up on Sundays after 9pm; is it the chef at that particular time? Dont know, dont care. Flashback is one of those local spots you discover by accident and then never let go. [Also as comparison I went to the "famous" Lesters in the FTL and asked for a egg white western omelet and you wouldve thought that I just parked my martian spaceship in the lot from the look I got from the waitress. I understand that sometimes every once in a blue moon people can have a bad experience, the staff is human after all. That being said, anyone giving a bad review by saying they used to come all the time and had one bad experience and is now never returning, lol pleeease dont. I like eating around people that are pleasant and appreciate this place as much as I do. Sorry they had a bad experience that ONE time, but thanks for the extra seat when I bring my friends. :) This is one of our favorite breakfast spots. I visit with my son and our little Buddy (cocker spaniel). We are treated like family and the staff seems happy, which is always nice to see. Yes, there have been occasions where everything was not perfect, but I still leave smiling and looking forward to our next visit. I prefer the family atmosphere and happy staff to anywhere else. I also love that we can bring our Buddy along. Most of all, the menu options and food is excellent.

People leaving most of the good reviews on here must be their family, friends and paid people to fool the public. Names of the food on their menu are named after famous people. I ordered Anthony Quinn who by the way is not Greek, hes Mexican, Gyro Platter was horrible, meat was bunt and dry. Their version of Greek salad, iceberg lettuce, some tomatoes, and dried up purple onion, there was no olives, feta cheese and oil with vinegar, the french fries was no fresh and re-heated. When I asked who the owners were, the server told me they are Greeks, I fully understand this is not a Greek restaurant, if you are going to have a Greek dish on the menu then you should create it close as possible. Ive been to Lesters & Peter Pan and Miami Subs, if they can Flashback can do the same. I feel very cheated and ripped off $17.00 later the portions were small. Dont know how they stay in business, save your money Mediterranean comfort food my Ass.

I have been a long time customer of Flashback. It all began years ago when I worked in the building behind the Hallandale location. It was awesome to be able to walk over and grab breakfast or lunch. The staff was awesome and it was so convienent. Fast forward and I havent been back to Hallandale in a long time but I do frequent the Davie location. My absolute favorite thing about Davie is Mark the waiter. That man is hilarious, efficient and just such a doll. I miss him when he isnt there but the rest of the staff is great as well. I always dig whatever I get but my favorites are breakfast, like eggs and bacon or an omelette or a club sammie with fries. The steak salad is delish too. My boyfriend always gets the Lum burger. That thing is the bomb! Anyway, the place is clean, staff is friendly and the food is always on point. I love it! Definitely staying a staple.

It seems that if you look like me, you are ignored. That is unfortunate. As I can not change how I look. I took my girl to this venue. She is from Jersey, all she talks about is how great the food shops are there. We pass Flashback often enough. Stopped in and was overlooked for 20 minutes Manager was sitting there during the entire time. When I stated how rude it was that the severs would walk past us seat and take orders and deliver the food to individuals that came in after us. He tried to give me free food. So now I must be a beggar. During the entire time the only people that were served did not look like me. I believe that Flashback may be a great experience for the customer that looks different than me. Yes I am angry.
