Salad dressing was not good. It was sour and not the tradition ginger dressing or ginger like dressing. The soup, Tom Yum Goong, was horrible. Its flavor was completely off from the traditional Thai Prawn soup it was supposed to be. They used shrimp rather than prawns. The vegetables in it were wrong with TOMATO, RED & GREEN PEPPER, SCALLION amongst other ingredients that didn’t belong in this soup. Fish sauce is suppose to be a flavor like condiment not the entire flavor of the soup. The “Special” Spider roll didn’t have the ingredient the menu listed. Eel was missing. When we questioned the waitress and showed her the roll, she looked at the sushi-maker and asked him rather than looking at the dish in front of her. No one came up to actually investigate. Sorry, I will not call them a “chef,” because a real chef has a level of pride and quality in their art. They did not exude that because our sushi, sashimi and rolls did not have that culinary art quality. The salmon sashimi was cut incorrectly where the spinal seam was right down the middle, which should never be served. The sushi was not cut correctly; it was cut WITH the grain and so when biting into the piece, it was chewy. The portion of fish for sushi was small…the rice big. They used “frozen tuna!” Frozen tuna has a distinct metal-like flavor and the color is like a light color red. It comes frozen. Why not use fresh?! Frozen tuna is cheaper as with the quality, and if you don’t have a steady flow of business, it’s not good to buy an easily perishable product like fresh tuna. You can thaw a frozen bar of tuna quickly. The service was bad. Waited 5-8+ minutes before someone came to us and by that time we were ready to place our order, but then had to wait for someone else to actually place the order; 2 minutes later. There was no checking up on our meal and we had to walk up to them to ask about the “special” spider roll. TBH, Shin-ju, despite being a buffet has much better quality. The saying is, if you see Asians there, it’s good; and Shin-Ju is good. I’m so sorry nu-sushi was not close to even par. We will never go back and felt it was a ripped off.

1/19/12 - Probably like many of you, Im often apprehensive about dining out as a business traveler. So I look at reviews and try to make sense of them. I stumbled across N U Sushi while searching in Google Maps. Plenty of reviewers gave ths place high marks. After taking a chance and eating there, I can see why. The sushi/sashimi combo dinner I had was really excellent. Very, very fresh, and a good selection of fish. If you are in the mood for sushi, this is definitely the place to go. It is located in a strip center, but dont let that put you off; the food is simply delicious. Service was a tad slow, but they were very busy when I went. Prices about average for top notch sushi. If I travel this way in the future, they will be on my short list of places to dine out.

I went to NU with three of my best friends on a Tuesday afternoon. We absolutely love sushi and used to go every week together when we were in school. This place had incredible rolls with tasty combinations -- the most expensive rolls are 12 dollars but well worth it. We couldnt even finish the four rolls we ordered... maybe it was the 4 sake bombs that filled us up or the salad we started with. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. Dont be turned off by the hole-in-the-wall atmosphere -- this place is great! Get roll number 32 -- it is the best one on the menu!

Hands down. It is owned and operated by the best Japanese sushi chef in South Florida, Yuji-san. The care he takes in his fish quality and amount of REAL Japanese cuisine is outstanding. This is like having sushi in Japan. I can guarantee that. The salmon sashimi is my favorite. That is how you tell a REAL sushi restaurant from the many fake ones here. The freshness of the fish. If you have the opportunity to visit in Coral Springs....DO IT

Not authentic Japanese food. Service was not good either. We Ordered: miso ramen - it tasted/looked like tonkotsu; soy (shoyu) ramen - it tasted like miso (obviously they got our order wrong but the server explained thats how they serve at this restaurant) kimchi ramen - they put cold kimchi on top and that made it lukewarm (use stir-fried kimchi in Japan); the noodle was cooked too long and soft.

This is a legit sushi restaurant. Its not a mix of thai or chinese and sushi. Its sushi done the right way. Best and freshest in South Florida by far. Prices are fair, fish is the freshest, and the chef is a real sushi chef. Hes not an all-asian cuisine chef making sushi. Eat at this place and youll TRY to compare every other sushi place to this one.

Decent prices, okay quality fish, good intimate environment. Very extensive menu and the peach iced tea is good! The only downfall is that my eel tasted too fishy and unfresh. I was in town from Milwaukee and this place was recommended to me. Next time Im down in S. Florida ill eat at Nu Sushi again.

Been going to Nu Sushi for 15+years. Fantastic food. Yuji San is a master sushi chef. Place has something for everyone, especially "real" sushi eaters. I usually do "omakase" and Yuji San whips up something incredible every time. Honestly some of the best tastes Ive ever experienced have been at Nu Sushi.

THE ONLY SUSHI BAR TO GO TO! 10**********. Excellent choice of white fish, monk fish liver (delicious), wahoo, king fish, OMG, you wont find exotic creations any where else! Yuji & Shin are the best. CINDY IS THE BEST WAITRESS. Very popular. ONCE YOU EAT THESE YOU WONT GO ANYWHERE ELSE.

I am so happy I found this place! I was looking for sushi near me and decided to choose this place over the big sushi buffet, best decision I ever made! Super fresh and affordable. Seems to be a mom and pops spot, I love it. Best sushi spot 5 minutes away, cant beat that!

As a first timer, I was pleasantly surprised. EVERYTHING was delicious! From my salad with ginger dressing to my grilled sea bass. Great service, VERY clean, fresh food, cozy atmosphere. I would DEFINITELY recommend this spot to sushi/non-sushi eaters alike.

Best sushi in Coral Springs!!! The rolls are small but boy are they delicious. The sushi chef, who is also the owner, really cares about what he serves to his customers. If he notices something wrong, he immediately will remake it.

The sushi rolls tasted old and stale to me. Perhaps one of the worst sushi restaurants Ive ever eaten at. There were few people there so maybe the word is out. The service was also poor and the wait staff was unfriendly.
