I am a foodie and only stopped at Applebees in Brooksville Florida to eat with no intentions of writing a review or a blog on this restaurant. I ordered Bourbon Steak Medium Rare and without a doubt this was the worst steak in America . I’ll be generous to say that they did a fine job with the ice water. As for the steak, it was absolutely without a shadow of a doubt the worst piece of meat I ever saw on a plate. It was as if Applebee’s purchasing department found the toughest cow in the pasture, put it on a treadmill for a few months to get rid of any tenderness or flavor, and waited for it to die of old age. Then they took the sick joke even further and sent it to my local Applebee’s, cooked it to a charcoal briquette and put it on my plate!. I sent the steak back and explained it was super tough and the whole meal had a horribly unpalatable flavor. The caramelized onions were crunchy and the potatoes were hard and had an ugly black color. I sent it back and they recooked the same steak making it even tougher than it was to begin with but now burnt to a crisp and obviously NOT Medium Rare. So I sent it back yet again and was sent a new steak sizzling on the plate that was super well done and NOT Medium Rare as I had originally ordered and just as horrible as the first steak . The management acted like they had done me a favor to take this nasty steak off my bill. I had ate at a Waffle House the day before and the Waffle House steak blew away the Applebees steak .I have learned though a very reliable inside source that Applebees uses prepackaged steaks that come in a plastic bag just like the nasty steaks the meat guys sell out of the freezers on the back of pickup trucks. So the bottom line is if you as a consumer are okay with eating meat soaked in preservatives and seasoned so much that you cant taste the embalming fluid style preservatives that are being sold at a premium price then Applebees is the place for you and your family. However if you demand quality and freshness at a premium price for you and your family then Applebees is not the place for you. I would suggest that Applebees should be boycotted until they get back to basics and serve Americas familys the quality product they charge them for and promise to serve them on there misleading commercials.

The whole visit was 100% awful. The waiter barely tended to us. He did not refill our beverages at all. He didnt ask us how the food was. He didnt offer us anything. As for the kitchen, and the way the food was made, it was also terrible. I added mushrooms and onions to my steak, $4 more altogether for it to be absolutely disgusting. The onions were still raw, and the mushrooms werent cooked well. Im not sure what happened during the cooking process with the mushrooms as they were slimy. We didnt complain the the waiter partly because we could barely hear ourselves think. The music was SO LOUD. Im pretty sure they were trying to compete with the nearby nightclub. All in all it was not good. We asked for the check 10 minutes after our food arrived because it was that bad. Will not return.

Every time we come here if we dont ask for our steaks to be medium or medium rare they always come out well done or done its a great place to eat the food is good a little expensive but if you do have to ask for something to be right then somethings wrong. We also love eating that is there the Blondie and if we dont ask for it to come out sizzling and hot then itll come out barely warm and not even I could touch it with my bare hands. They really need to work on whoevers in the kitchen. You shouldnt have to ask for a good customer service if you have a new menu and a new girl and new stuff on your menu and your advertising it then you should serve it as your advertising it.

I have ALWAYS had a great meal here, no matter how much I wanted to hate the place because it is a chain. I have never had a problem with the "To Go" service, as the person who wrote another review seemed to have had...and I have used this service multiple times. There is always an attentive staff, the drinks and deserts are great, too. It is a wonderful place for both my 7-year-old son and my elderly mother, and there is always a menu item to please all...which I cannot say for a lot of places. I have even gone on Karaoke night, and had a blast. They keep late hours, which is a plus around here, for sure! Over all...a great place to get a great meal consistently.

I rarely complain about food or service, I just do not return. Our experience at this particular Applebees was so poor that I would like to share my disappointment. The baby back ribs were the worst I have ever had and I eat out frequently and have a wide range of experience. They were over cooked to the point the meat was so dry it grew from the saliva in our mouths. When they were sent back, they returned much later, long enough for everyone else to finish eating, exactly the same, virtually unedible. The service is rated poor because our waitress also had to serve the take out window and was frequently unavailable. My family and I will not return.

Have been a regular at this location for a few years now. The food is usually good, and the service is as well. But I guess they have a new policy that says there must be obnoxious music blasted at ear-splitting volume in the evenings. And they wont turn it down. The idea appears to be blackmailing their customers into paying to listen to something besides the most annoying rap noise in music history. And making them uncomfortable enough to eat fast, and turn over the table. Probably wont be going here anymore, unless I find out the policy has changed.

Brooksville Applebees is a great place to go and hang with buds when back in town visiting, or if you just want to grab a beer and an appetizer. However, if you are a foodie, realize this is an Applebees, not a 5 star restaurant. If you want a steak, order from an actual steak house. I dont order the food because its not that great, however they do have good Asian chicken tacos and French onion soup, both of which Ive never gotten wrong, and the staff is always awesome, funny, and courteous.

Food was mediocre at best. Mixed drinks were alright, I ordered the all day brunch burger that was so greasy I thought I was going to drop dead after the first bite. Garlic fries were ok but were heavily seasoned. The wait staff were alright. They were friendly but not worth the trip. Especially if youre from out of state. We came from ny and decided to stop for a quick bite. By no means was it quick. The wait was so long I thought I was going to die of old age.

Waited 7 minutes for service by Lisa. She didnt give us silverware. Had to ask the hostess. Was very rude, didnt want to take the time to be pleasant. Was a hassle to order a water or a salad after our lunch came. She walked past us 4 times with our drinks empty to chat with the table behind us for 10-15 minutes. Never refilled our drinks, got an attitude when she saw the tip total. Food was less than awesome. Wouldnt give any stars if I had the option.
