Service was eh. Server was talking barely above a whisper, and barely managed a smile half the time. After getting our drinks, she sat at the bar with someone and proceeded to ignore us for nearly ten minutes, despite our menus being closed for half of that. I ordered the grilled chicken with soup and mashed potatoes, and did not receive the soup until we asked for it halfway through our meal. My fiance has been there a few times, and says that the tomato sauce, tomato soup, and marinara sauce all taste basically identical. My chicken was overcooked and warm at best, leading me to believe it was precooked and then microwaved to serve. To top it all off, our check was brought to the table before wed even finished eating, and we had to go find our server to get boxes to take some home. Fried foods all seem good though, fiance had the fried cod sandwich, and despite some mushy tomatoes and some lightly Browning lettuce, it was good.

If I could rate this company with zero stars I would. One thing I do not tolerate with businesses is you do not treat your customers badly... My husband ask for a menu so we can look over what we wanted to order while sitting in the car, when we was ready to order he brought the menus back in and the lady he gave it to that took his order implied " oh so I see you brought the menu back!!!" Really what was the point of you running your mouth. Then when we got our food the manger was very rude when giving it to us. Great customer service puts you at the top of the list you can mess up but if you have great customer service and are willing to work with the customer they will accept that. They where very rude to us and it will be me and his first and last time there. The food it self was ok French toast was very plain, eggs where good. But not worth my time and money. Save your time with there rude ass3$

We are snowbirds for the past 18 years . We have about 95% of the time been treated with the best service and best food at the Skillet. If you are disappointed with the food you should bring it to your server s attention and I promise you they will 99% of the time make sure you are happy and satisfied customer even changing your food if necessary. We live very near the skillet and eat there several times a week. We are THANKFUL FOR THIS PLACE THAT TAKES PRIDE IN THE QUALITY OF THEIR FOOD AND SERVICE!!! Thank you Skillet Chefs.. (And yes we call them chefs because "cooks" dont take as much pride in their QUALITY of food as Chefs do.". This said we have been Blessed with Steve and Bonnie who treat us like family. Greetings to the Country Skillet: Have a Wonderful Holiday Season and an Even Better new Year! WE LOVE YOU! FROM TERRY & LINDA BOGARD- SHADY LANE VILLAGE

This used to be my favorite restaurant to go to until I was ignored once too many times. I love going to local restaurants and over the past year Ive been somewhat of a regular (i.e. 2x a week). The service is hit or miss. Some days theyre very attentive and other days they dont give a crap about you. The last time I was there I swore the place off. I usually sit where the stools are and at my last visit I was ignored by all the staff. I dont get it. I generally tipped them 25%. Sure, they were busy that day but Ive been in some of the busiest restaurants in the country and this place is never like that. They obviously saw me sitting there without a drink or a menu. I left after 15 minutes. Its too bad because I really loved going there but I dont wait 15 minutes for basic restaurant service.

A family restaurant that falls short on service and quality. Yesterday had the 12oz Delomonico steak. Served warm not hot, overcooked, and about 4oz short of the advertised 120z.. Salad was mediocre with just one small wedge of tomato, rest was lettuce with no croutons, etc. Dressing was served in a small plastic cup that contained about two teaspoons of dressing. Friends had the turkey feast...small portions, lumpy potatoes, etc. Service was abysmal. Waitress came back only once to ask if we needed anything. Had to ask twice for a cup of mayo. Indifferent attitude. Will not be going back to this dive again. Prices overboard for the quality and service.

Excellent old fashion restaurant! I ordered the chefs special steak dinner, and for the price, you cant beat it. My complements to the chef, it was cooked perfectly. And Ill definitely be returning in the near future. However, for my first time there, I could only give it a 4 star due to my server Michael. Very unattentive. After serving my food I waited 20 mins for him to return, and when he did not. I had to go to the counter for service. Ruined my dinner! And to top it off he came and apologized to me blaming it on new people and Yada Yada but the truth is, he lied to me, because I keep looking at him while waiting, he was standing in the back not doing his job.

I am a regular customer here and have been for years. This is a family owned and operated restaurant. My favorite for lunch is the southwest steak grill sandwich which I have never found anywhere else. The Spanish skillet for breakfast is another favorite. The owner, Steve, comes around in the morning to hand out small muffins while customers wait for their meals (at least on the weekends, I never make the weekday breakfast before work) - which is lovely touch I have never seen in another restaurant. These are good people, deserving of better reviews than I see below.

If I could give negative stars, I would give a -5. Waitress was cranky and rude. Food was not prepared as ordered. Coffee weak AF! Cold toast. Waitress never checked back once after bringing food and actually didnt even give us the check when she saw us walk up to the register. (In response to the owners comment) This is for the Clearwater, FL location. I was there on vacation. We were there at 6:00am and you can ask the person running the register this morning. We ordered omelettes, one with no mushrooms and it was full of mushrooms. The coffee you could see through.

We moved to the area a few years ago, left and came back a few months ago and finally decided to try this place, after driving past a zillion times. What were we waiting for? This place rocks. Casual, diner atmosphere. Very neat and clean. The waitstaff is very nice. The amount of food you get for the money is amazing. Everything weve ordered from here (breakfast/dinner) has been great. We will be back for the AYCE Spaghetti on Saturdays :)
