I came to this restaurant on a Sunday morning for lunch, and I have to say that it was incredibly busy and the waiting time was appropriate to the long line. There is no specific waiting area and you have to wait by the only entrance and exit, which makes it difficult for people to exit and enter. After my girlfriend and I were taken to our table it took a while for us to see our server that when she finally came over we knew exactly what we wanted to order. My girlfriend ordered the Breakfast Tots which were delicious, but very oily which kind of made them unpleasant. It it wasnt for the high amount of oil, the Breakfast Tots would be a go to for anyone that likes tatoer tots with scramble eggs and sautéed onions with peppers. I order the peanut butter and chocolate milk shake with vanilla ice cream, which I strongly recommend if you are a peanut butter lover as myself. It was delightful and rich in flavor. I also order the breakfast burrito which seemed popular since many people in the restaurant had at least one on their table and the description sounded delicious. Although I had placed my order at the same time as my girlfriend my food came way after my girlfriends, it was to the point that my girlfriend had finished her food and I still didnt have mine. When I asked one of the servers what was going on, he came back to tell me that the waitress had apparently forgotten to enter my order, which was sort of annoying, but considering how busy it was its an honest mistake that anyone couldve committed. When I finally got my food and took the first bite, it let a lot to desire, and did not live up to my expectations and the hype. Although the burrito was average tasting, the home fries were quite tasty and probably the best part of the dish. The waitress did discounted $6 of my bill to make up for the mistake of not placing my order, which I have to say was really nice. I definitely recommend going to this restaurant if you find yourself in the D.C area and want something cheap and good to eat, but if you go on a Sunday be ready to wait in the long line.

The Diner is a great spot to eat when youre out drinking super late at night and literally nothing around is open. They are. I have been here many a time and have experienced the busy times and slow times. It evens out. I usually just get some hot coffee and a Fried Chicken Sandwich, which Im well aware takes time to cook. Its usually acceptable waiting periods for service and food... But not the last time we went. We ordered two of those chicken sandwiches, some chilli tots, and two floats. We waited a total of an hour and ten minutes from the time our order was placed to the time it got to our table. The waitress set in us was not one Ive ever seen before and she seemed to pay mind to all her other tables, but not us. An hour and thirty minutes is the time from sitting to food being on our table. She only apologized and tried to give excuses to why it took a while. All things that are easily prevented, in my opinion. Upon receiving our bill, she also charged us for a milkshake we never ordered. Informed her, she was confused as to what to do for a moment and then finally took it off. Little things here and there digged under my skin and I honestly did not appreciate any of the service ice we received that night, and will not be returning. For a restaurant this popular, I know it doesnt matter if I return or not, but I just hope they pull themselves together. It was a bad enough experience to influence my decision here.

Upon walking in and greeting 3 different employees, I was ignored 3 times. Its self seating so I seated myself, was greeted by a host who mid sentence walked away from me to give menus to some ladies who hadnt even sat down yet. At this point I had been there for 20 minutes without a drink or even a menu. It then took another 45 minutes to receive a reuben and onion rings. The quality was decent and the food was hot. They forgot my milkshake and I didnt see my server again until near the end of my meal. The alcoholic milkshake was a little weaker than expected for 9 bucks but it was an enjoyable novelty. The last part of my experience involved being told my 15 percent tip was "ludicrous", even though I had errant service from people who clearly didnt even want to pretend to want my business. Next time I will go elsewhere.

This is definitely a great diner from what I hear but I experienced the worst customer service and it was my very first time at this place and the server we had didnt pay much attention to us we had to ask other servers for items she should have been getting for us..smh she was very rude as well! When I asked another server for a manager she came to the table stating she was the manager and her name was Kim so I asked if there was anyone else I could talk to she said no so I asked for a number to the general manager and she kept stating they werent there. Well all in all this was one of the worst experiences Ive had in any restaurant!! She should not be serving her attitude is HORRIBLE!!!

THEIR MANAGER KIM NEEDS TO BE FIRED! Talk about the worst customer experience ever. Kim, the manager, is one of the rudest people Ive ever met. She was our server because the place was empty and she circled around to the table ONCE in 45 MINUTES. When I asked another waitress where ours was, she laughed and said that "Im not shocked." When I asked for the manager, the waitress actually told me that our waitress was also the manager! The woman needs to be fired because she came back to the table and basically bitched us out that was requested her. Absolutely crap service and were not going back until shes gone from that place. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I arrived at 12pm on a Tuesday and got a seat right away, possibly because of the construction in the Adams Morgan area. Upon walking in, immediately, I noticed the poor kitchen ventilation. The air was thick of greasy fried food. The kitchen is not partitioned off from the dinning room which means the fried food smell WILL cling to your clothes. It was a bummer because I was meeting a date later. My Philly omelet with all the veggies came out fast and was good. Presentation was typical of dinner food. The pre fried potatoes were a bit cold. My waiter was courteous and attentive. All in all the dinning experience was what I expected.

If it isnt based on the fine choice of the best of hip hop and rap its for the amazing mixes drinks like their signature Bone Crushed. I wish I could stop there but their food is off the charts, for the flavor that is being delivered on your plate youd expect meager portions, but not here! Some places in D.C. you pay a pretty penny for a pretty little tasty plate of food, but who said pretty or tasty had to be little? The Diner sure as hell did not! Come here for the drinks, the flavor, the portions or come here cause its the place to be in D.C., you like the above than youll love this place. Cause Papa Derf tells no lies.
